31. #14 - no more controversial than Jews reclaiming it
William ,   Israel   (12.05.10)
Your analogy would be more accurate if you mentioned that your car that was stolen, was at first stolen by you from the original owner. Having an Arabic name doesn't denote ownership. Having a history with it...does, and Arab history shows they stole the land and killed/converted the owners back in the 7th century. You still celebrate it as a victory for the Islam supremacy. But ask yourself this question - how come there are so many Arabs living peacefully there, and you're living in Gaza? Were you specifically targeted for expulsion or were your family a pack of cowards who ran without ever seeing a soldier (most common)? Either way, you live in Gaza now...probably on Jewish land, stolen from them again, and acknowledge by Haniyeh himself in another boastful speech highlighting Islamic supremacy.
32. #22 - thank you for your warm words...
William ,   Israel   (12.05.10)
and I hope that many more opportunities for both populations to work together, become available.
33. #23 - but notice it comes from outside influence
William ,   Israel   (12.05.10)
We are brothers and cousins, probably able to get along very well, except for the outside influence that seeks to destroy our house from within - Islam from the Peninsula, and Leftists from Europe.
34. #26 - "Jews"...not Israelis?
William ,   Israel   (12.05.10)
Your choice of words perfectly underscores your racism, by lumping all Jews everywhere together with Israel. Not surprising as that is the hardline that Hamas has taken and uses to justify its murder of civilians...on both sides. But you do justify Israeli actions in Gaza by showing Gazans are not innocent bystanders who have Hamas thrusted upon them, but are actually active in keeping them in power and warring with Israel. Video evidence shows many olive trees destroyed as being at the hands of anarchists and "Palestinians" themselves. The fire at a mosque was the work of a small group of people, which resulted in many denunciations by Israelis including rabbis, and a rush by Israelis to help clean up and fix it. When "Palestinians" torched a synagogue, blew up a bus or pizza place....was there condemnation? Aid to clean it up? NO - you named a street after the terrorists and taught your kids songs to glorify them. It is no wonder why the West Bank is seeing better times, with people like Samer there, and Gaza sucks, with you there.
35. Very nice talkback
Ray ,   US   (12.05.10)
Very unusual but very nice Notice Sarah B only came out to a negative comment, would have been possible for her to say something nice No! It's those kinds of people that are keeping the people of the holy land in conflict
36. Williams, do you come from the USA?
Jens Jarva ,   North Cape   (12.05.10)
If you do, that could explain a few things. That said, I hope the comments can come back to what a good gesture these Palestinians give.
37. Doug #17
Mickey ,   Sydney Australia   (12.05.10)
'How many Firefighters Did Israel Send to Gaza to help extinguish the fires started by IDF bombs and phosphorous shells?' I'll tell you Doug, it was the same number of firefighters that the Gazans sent to help Israel quell fires started by the 8,000 rockets they fired indiscriminately on Southern Israeli towns and villages which forced Israel to attack the Hamas entity!!
38. I tell you why
Mohd Aghawani ,   Ramallah   (12.06.10)
Becuse you do not read news, just like many others ... looking always for the dark side and expanding it ... Any way, from the first day, they were in barta'a and taibeh. Read Read Read .... but diversify your resources.
39. firefighters
Marilyn ,   USA   (12.06.10)
It's good what they did.
40. This is pretty amazing...
D   (12.06.10)
This may be wishful thinking, but i hope this is a start to a new "relationship" between the two countries. Underneath the religions, and the politics, we are all the same. We all live, bleed, and breathe the same. As a Jew longing for this war to end, I thank the Palestinians and everyone else who helped get rid of the fire, and hope this helps get rid of all the stereotypes.
