Rose ,   Vancouver, Canada   (12.05.10)
But they don't need international help to deal with the internal problem. \\\netanyahu needs to grow up. \his \jewish ego (we are soooooooooooooo much better) is making him look like an ass again.
2. Are you claiming success BB?
Jeff ,   Maccabim, Israel   (12.05.10)
Don't you dare. It was a failure, don't try to cover it up.

4. Right but,
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.05.10)
another another states need only 24 hours!
5. fires last longer
debbie ,   israel   (12.05.10)
TO ROSE, I think it's a good thing, that the international community was given an opportunity to help Israel. Israel is always along the first to send rescue/emergency/medical crews to countries which have had disasters. It's good that some of these countries have a chance to pay back now.
6. how ? with brave people and intl help...
eporue ,   europe   (12.05.10)
to all - kol hakavod... ...and when you want to make peace, bibi, finally, they will all come again - to help... ...might even take less than 77 hours...
7. rabbi yosef - anything on "77" ?
eporue ,   europe   (12.05.10)
8. The fire
mark ,   israel   (12.05.10)
I've lived in RSA and Australia and I've experienced fires at first hand. We were in Melbourne when living in the city became unbearable because of fires that burnt for weeks and, yes they did solicit ouside aid and many lives, particularly of firemen were lost I've seen fires around Sydney, Cape Town and in other places. It would seem to me that those in charge in Israel prioritized correctly and acted accordingly. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the bereaved families and our prayers are with the injured.
9. Just create more firefighters - much more!
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (12.05.10)
Israeli summers seem to be getting hotter, drier and longer - think ahead.

Dude have a hutzpa - A the end of second day of brush there was 20 thousand dunams on fire an area of 4x5 km or 3.2x2.5 miles across and at that time he was begging for foreign help while his own troops were watching Oprah in their baracs. If you can't take care of anticipated little fire like this one without help from abroad than God help you when a calamity hits you by surprise.
11. not the appropriate time for supremacy to go ablaze

12. #1 isn't he
(12.05.10)
anti-Israel is Antisemitism.
13. Pompous mumblings from a self righteous idiot
Al   (12.05.10)
The people of Israel are screwed again and again by the poor leadership. Israel paid a very steep price.(lost lives) ..In light of the fact that foreign nations 'helped' Israel, Israel will not be expected to give up the Golan along with other strategic assets. Netanyahu is a failed leader...If you cant see that you are either blind. stupid or both.
14. oh lord
dani   (12.05.10)
bibi finally opens his mouth, and out pops a gigantic foot. the guy really *is* an idiot...
15. #1 IDIOT!!! Do you think here in the States that the local
Randall ,   Los Angeles,CA   (12.05.10)
fire department is solely responsible for putting out HUGE forest fires in CA, CO,, and other states??? NOOOOOO. We call in fire fighters from other states, and yes, there have been other countries who have voluntered there manpower as well as planes. And there have been times when these fires have burned for weeks at a time. It is true other countrie's fires do last longer. Israel is small, so why should it not be put out quicker???? You need to grow up Rose and get over your beef with Bibi. Truly it has clouded and deluded your moronic thought pattern.
16. Salma
Andy ,   Canada   (12.05.10)
No other state I know could possibly put out a forest fire in 77 hours. We don't in Canada and we are ready with infrastructure for fires as we have hundreds of them. It is a force of nature. Don't let your continuous blind hatred and foolish posts guide every thought you have. Makes you like as stupid as your posts. Speak instead as your own leadership has and use this humanitarian gesture of Palestinian firefighters working in the Carmel, as an opportunity for a better future. The alternative is a fire far worse than they one you saw.
17. To Rose
Andy ,   Edmonton, Canada   (12.05.10)
I don't know what part of Vancouver you live in, like in delusional town, but despite Canada's and the US massive forest fire infrastructure to handle the hundreds of fires ever summer---crews regularly go in between the two countries and that private Evergreen 747 is hired by many states to control the fires that can last a month. The Kelowna fire of just a few years ago burned neighbourhoods and the hillside and at one point was declared uncontrollable. Same as the recent San Diego fires. Don't talk nonsense.
18. #13 Bibi is a failed leader because of this fire??? Really??
Rueben ,   Migdal, Israel   (12.05.10)
When has Israel ever had a fire like this? How many years, no century's has it been? So why should we fear a fire when that has never been our enemy? The blame for not being prepared for this rest on the shoulders of many of his predecessors before him. 2 idiot teenagers are charged with setting this fire. The blame rests solely with them. And they will receive justice, of this I am sure. So if we put all the facts in perspective Al, it really is YOU who is guilty of pompous mumblings from a self righteous idiot!
19. Not pompous
Rachel ,   US   (12.05.10)
I don't think he was trying to be arrogant. It's that he knows another commission is going to be set up (his second) and he's trying to put his case together. Now that the fire has been put out, it's CYA time.
20. To #10 Split
Andy ,   Edmonton, Canada   (12.05.10)
Tell us the one about New Orleans and the Katerina Hurricane and how we in Canada had to send our firefighters to help while your own crews ran away and the buses were idle as people drowned.
21. Hubris does not look good on this man.
kelly ,   toronto   (12.05.10)
Perhaps a little humility might be in order?
22. Andy #20
kelly ,   toronto   (12.05.10)
The difference is, I don't recall hearing anyone proclaiming the Katrina recovery a success...I certainly never heard anything like "all the other nations would have handled this much worse."
23. Mr. prudent Andy Canada
observer   (12.05.10)
even Jews say much more scathing words than Salma: e.g. #1,2,10,13
24. #10 Hey, you Jewish wanna be. If you are going to appear to
Maurie ,   Israel   (12.05.10)
have a command of the Jewish language, at least try to spell the words correctly! "Dude have a hutzpa' is not even a correct way to say that, and you have incorrectly spelled hutzpa(your spelling, not ours). Also, baracs(your spelling) is incorrect as well. And finally, your sentence structure is gramatically incoherent at best. Take this from one who has the CHUTZPAH to telly you this!!!
25. Netanyahu is trying to save his own skin!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (12.05.10)
The fact is that this disaster happened on your watch, Prime Minister! Previous governments have failed to finance the Emergency Services. Yes, the Olmert Government failed, the Sharon Kadimah Government failed, and so did the Sharon Likud Government fail and you were the Minister of Finance in that Government! The Barak Government failed and he is in your Government and, of course, the Likud Government failed under your Prime Ministership. We all know that you will do anything to stay in power. Well, if the people of Israel have any common sense they will show you that you have run out of excuses. You must resign and call a General Election and let the people choose. It is time that you realized that the survival of Israel is paramount, not the survival of the Netanyahu Government of religious fanatics and right-wing extremists!
26. Not finished yet!!!
peter vojta ,   czech republic   (12.05.10)
Its truth, but still, "FIRE" against Palestine people and neigbours set up over 60 years is very much kept alive and if there was not "partner in crime- namely US", international community would dealt with this disaster already decades ago, so work is not finished yet peter czech
27. Bibi Netanyahu's Flying Circus
Michael ,   Haifa   (12.05.10)
After colossal incompetence, Netanyahu engages in his usual spin mode, designed to display him as a hero - our Winston Churchill at times of adversity. There will be no Commission of Enquiry that will point a finger of blame. There will no be accountability... Eli Yishai will not be relegated to the Ministry of Silly Walks (as in Monty Python's Flying Circus). Netanyahu and his cronies understand only too well that the Israeli electorate will always return these same pathetic incompetents to power. Even though the consequences of this fire were tragic, he must be laughing his head off at the stupidity of the Israeli public.
28. Bibi please dont try pust a positive spin on this
zionist forever   (12.05.10)
For decades successive government have neglected the fire service and so they were unable to cope with this situation without outside help. There is no Israeli politician in this government or previous ones that can be held responsible directly but at the same time no government can said it did the right thing. Now we just need t set aside some serious money to give the fire service all the equipment they need. Bibi please no spin, this thing was a disaster and lets just call it that instead of saying other countries had worse. The only reason its been brought under control so quickly is because of the work of foreign nations because for decades we didn't invest in our own fire fighting capabilities,
29. Heck of a job, bibi!
