31. To Salma and Nouri...
David ,   Hartford USA   (12.06.10)
Go ahead, declare 'Palestine' a state in August. As such, you will be expected to behave like a sovereign state and have certain responsibilities. The world will be constantly looking over your shoulders to see what you've accomplished. Will you wipe out honor killings? Will theives have their hands and feet cut off? Will adultory (very popular pasttime in Islam) continue to punish the women with flogging and stoning? Will demonization of Israel continue to be taught in PA schools? Will PA textbooks make no mention of Israel? I think the little piece of hell on earth that will be the new Palestine will be a disgrace to mankind. The only good that will come of it is when the PA 'Ethinic Cleansers' start knocking on Jewish doors. When the Jews are attacked, and they will be, Israel will have every right to overrun your pathetic enclave and push you back into Jordan. So enjoy your 15 minutes of fame in August- it's all you'll ever have. One rocket from the 'west bank' and 'Palestine' will be over before it began.
32. The truth be told, the Pals really are a side issue
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.06.10)
When the world has nothing better to do, it spends its time doting over the poor, pitiful Palestinians and those big mean zionists. When the world is busy, it really couldn't care less about the Palestinians and hopes that the Palestinians won't return to their old ways of blowing airliners out of the sky, shooting up airports, and throwing disabled old Jewish grandfathers to their death off of cruise ships. Salaam Fayad seems to have realized this, and is apparently doing something about it. Groves was right - the ragged Palestinians rattle their tin cup and the EU, Japanese and Americans dump charity in their cup. (Their Arab brethren, apparently, aren't as charitable). Fayyad is about the only Palestinian in power who wants to stop being a welfare child. All the other senior Palestinians couldn't care less, since they've set themselves up with monopolies that have made them rich. Is the Palestinian issue central to the world? Not really. It keeps journalists busy, and gives politicians something to tut-tut over at cocktail parties. But the Palestinians are becoming everybody's favorite non-urgent issue. There is simply no way the peace process can go forward with Hamas in power in Gaza. Hamas rejects peace with Israel, and Fatah won't and can't sign a peace treaty without Gaza. And no, Hamas will not recognize a Fatah peace treaty with Israel, since their condition is a world-wide Palestinian referendum, which is pretty much an absolute impossibility. So no, the Pals are not central. By rejecting any and every chance for peace with Israel they've shown their intransigence, and by being so inherently corrupt and committed to the path of violence, they've shown that they're not serious about nation building or peace making.
33. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.10)
You are scarcely qualified to issue forth on how most Israelis believe the rest of the world treats them. Given Israel's contributions to the world, particularly in the fields of medicine and information technology, I assure you that we are treated with respect. Those that do not respect us are irrelevant and worthy of being ignored, and that is precisely what we do. I note for the record that those nations tend to be deplorable backward places who have not managed to achieve in several hundred years what Israel has managed to achieve in a mere sixty-two years, despite being drawn into six wars and combatting terrorism; despite absorbing well over three million Jewish refugees and despite having to cope with shortages throughout the 1950s and early 1960s. The balance of your comment -- in addition to being misspelled -- is a complete non-sequitur, and unworthy of a response.
34. Argentina: Que Vive Palestina Libre!!!
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.06.10)
Sarah still thinks Palestinians are "yesterday's news": Obviously, it is she who is dwelling in the past, sobbing the death of Eretz Yirsroel. Gracias Argentina! Que viva Palestina libre, y viva nuestra amistad!
35. Yawwwwn ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.10)
"UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on Israel to freeze settlement activity" - 29/11/2010. The United Nations is not a country. "Sri Lanka also called on Israel to freeze all settlement building on 29/11/2010." Oh my gracious! I am quaking in my boots. Sri Lanka! I am gratified theat they have stopped massacring the Tamil people long enough to opine forth on Israeli settlements. "William Hague week restated his commitment to a new West Bank settlement freeze 11/11/2010." William Hague is not the head of state of the United Kingdom. His comments have as much importance as some U.S. State Department official calling upon Israel to extend the settlement freeze -- which is to say, none whatsoever. "Germany asked US to force settlement freeze on Israel - WikiLeaks cable, 01/12/2010" Irrelevant. The freeze was ongoing in January 2010, the date you give for the cable. Got something from the German chancellor that dates from the end of the freeze? "Two senior Israeli cabinet ministers warned yesterday that failure to renew the settlement construction freeze would strengthen the Palestinians and jeopardise Israel", 15/11/2010" Isn't it wonderful that Israel is a democracy which tolerates disparate opinions? But how does that qualify as a demand from a foreign government that Israel extend the freeze? Oh, that's right! It doesn't. You are correct. I misspoke. The United States and Sri Lanka are urging Israel to extend the freeze. LOL!
36. Two investigations Israel needs: Rabin's death and Oslo.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.06.10)
Dann is right on target like usual. It is way past time to root out the culture of appeasement, among self appointed leftist elites, which is behind so much unnecessary Israeli pain and suffering. There are two investigations Israel needs. The first is a real investigation into the death of Rabin. The "lone rightist" theory is contradicted by hundreds of serious inconsistencies. We must clear up the inconsistencies and find the truth. The second, as Dann notes, is the continuing Oslo Debacle. It has been an ongoing curse for nearly two decades. Let's determine who is responsible and punish them accordingly. And even more importantly, let's totally reverse their disastrous policies.
37. Israel the land of the Jews
Dik ,   Spijkenisse, Holland   (12.06.10)
anyone reading the will undoubtly see that Israel is the land of the Jewish people as stipulated by God Almighty. And the prophets said that foreigners should be treated well; unless they stick to the (Israels) law. Shalom from Holland
38. Ken #29 try looking up the term
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.06.10)
The dictionary states that it is: Prejudice, discrimination or hostility directed against Jews. Salma is not Jewish. Second the dislike is because of their actions over the past 62 years. They have been attempting genocide against us with the assistance of 1 billion other Muslims.
39. :: Sarah BS tries to weasel #35
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.06.10)
Oh dear Sarah BS what are you trying to do here?! Gosh it looks as if you are trying to gloss over the fact that you put your foot in it again by moving the goalpost to imply you meant "countries" when you said: "Have you noticed that NO ONE except the discredited lame-duck American president is urging Israel to extend the freeze?" If only you hadn't have emphasised the word "NO ONE" but stated "NO COUNTRY" instead but alas you didn't. Regardless you still look like a fool for claiming that no one except for the US has been calling for an extension of the construction freeze when clearly they have. Also regarding:<01/12/2010" Irrelevant. The freeze was ongoing in January 2010, the date you give for the cable> learn how to read date formats idiot child unless you think that the ref I also gave of "29/11/2010" refers to the 11th day of the 29th month.
40. To: No. 39
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.07.10)
Is Germany asking the US to force a settlement freeze on Israel qualitatively the same thing as Germany issuing a formal statement itself? For that matter, did Sri Lanka make a public appeal to that effect? No, in both cases. Internal State Department memoranda and cables do not qualify. So I stand by my statement -- only the United States has urged Israel to extend the freeze. Epic fail on your part, "Matty Groves."
41. What an endless merry-go-round it all is
Cameron ,   USA   (12.07.10)
42. #2 - Salma, I visited Dubai recently
William ,   Israel   (12.07.10)
and the people there made it quite clear - they consider the "Palestinians" as a pain in the ass and backwater cousins. I received a royal treatment there by the Arab citizens, knowing I was from Israel, and I was only there for a trade show, not as an investor. Face it - if you were so important you'd be talked about as "Palestinians" only and not as a jumping point to attack Israel in the media. You'd certainly be given the most help and resources from their petro-dollar coffers but alas, billions were pledged but only a few dollars trickle in to pockets of your leaders. Jerusalem was never a flashpoint, Israel's existence was the flashpoint since Al-Husseini lead his racist attacks on your behalf. A goal your ilk willingly promote.
43. Sarah B on a roll!!!!
Rob ,   Orangevale USA   (12.07.10)
Sarah, I used to be pissed at you all the time., but I love consistency and today you have turned the tide. How you must grow tired of educating the seemingly un-educatable.(is that a word?) Nour and Salma are today's Indrajaya's and Clickfool. Remember them. They hated and the Jews and Israel and went of wherever on their separate ways, no more important than 10 seconds of published hate per day. These two will also go away disgruntled and unsatisfied with the deal the world "dealt " them. So be it. It's up to you to tell the truth, don't blow it.
44. :: Sarah BS - #40 - Epic Fall
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.07.10)
Sarah BS just you can see how wrong your are in your errant and misguided belief I cite the following news item headlines and a small snippet pertaining to the individual articles, I have also rendered the date format into a easy to understand format as you seem to have problems with that. :: Quartet (the United States, European Union, United Nations and Russia) urges Israel to extend settlement freeze (22/Sept/2010) "The world sponsors of the Middle East peace process have called on Israel to extend its settlement moratorium". :: Italy urges Israel settlement freeze (07/Nov/2010) "An 'extension' meaning until a final agreement ... is reached," Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini. :: EU urges Israel to reinstate settlement freeze (01/Oct/2010) "The European Union's foreign policy chief urged Israel on Friday to extend its moratorium on settlement construction". - and again - :: EU urges Israel to extend settlement freeze (16/Oct/2010) "In a declaration adopted by foreign ministers, the EU "recalls that settlements are illegal under international law and calls for an extension of the moratorium decided by Israel"". :: France Urges Israel to Reconsider New Settlement Plans (16/Oct/2010) "France said on Saturday that it is "deeply disappointed" with Israel's plans to resume building homes for settlers in occupied Jerusalem, and urged the Israeli government to reconsider". :: Norway urges Israel to revoke approval of new 238 new homes in East Jerusalem (19/Oct/2010) “I urge Israel to revoke the decision to build new homes in East Jerusalem,” said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. “Israel’s construction activities in the occupied territories are among the greatest threats to the peace talks.” :: Britain urges Israel to halt settlements (27/Oct/2010) "Continued settlement construction threatens the goal of a two-state solution to which the Israeli government itself is committed," British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Bill Rammell told reporters in Amman. :: Japan calls for settlement freeze (04/Oct/2010) "Japan urges Israel to return to a moratorium on settlement activities," the document read, and added that the government "reaffirms its basic position that Israel should freeze all settlement activities in the West Bank which includes East Jerusalem." Japanese Foreign Ministry. As you can clearly see your ridiculous claim "that NO ONE except the discredited lame-duck American president is urging Israel to extend the freeze" is either borne out of immense ignorance or plain stupidity, or perhaps both.
45. To: Rob at No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.07.10)
The word is actually "uneducable." Today's ersatz "Palestinians" fail by documented history. The facts are clear, and available to all who choose to undertake the necessary effort to conduct the requisite research. Thank you for your vote of confidence. I didn't get to where I am today by blowing anything ....
46. Is Our Media Honest
jerry ,   haifa   (12.07.10)
The overwhelming majority of Israelis are not on the left. They understand reality. Sadly the few leftists run the media and newspapers and are in denial of reality. They only investigate those who do not agree with them.Moshe Dann again delivers the sad truth.
47. Wikileaks prove Pals are lost
meira ,   TA   (12.07.10)
No one really really cares about the Palestinians except some anti-Semitic Europeans, and Obama. Palestianism is a fake identity, infused with Jew-hatred and violence unto its own. As long as Israel's existence as a Jewish state is the issue, there will be no peace. It's time for Pals to change from negativity to positivity, from victimhood to selfhood, from disrespect to self-respect.
48. :: My BS is superior to yours Sarah B.
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.07.10)
I envy you so I do my best to compete with you.
49. #26, Ilan from Nazareth. Kol ha kavod!
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (12.07.10)
50. #48 Matty. Judea/Samaria freezes are wrong in every way.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.07.10)
Judea/Samaria building freezes are wrong in every way. First of all, they are blatatly racist- directed at Jews only. Second of all, they are completely unjustifiable because this land is ours. Just as no circumstace whatsoever could justify an American building freeze in California, nothing justifies a Jewish freeze in Judea and Samaria. Judea and Samaria have belonged to Jews for thousands of years longer than America has existed. Thirdly, they send the false message that Israel is willing to cede Judea and Samaria. Which we aren't. This land is ours. Period.
