A demilitarized Palestinian state is a pipe dream. Israel could not prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza even when it was in control of Gaza. Israel should extend the wall to protect all settlements in Ephraim, Manasseh, Judah and Benjamin. Israel should build in E1 and in the Jordan hills. Building in these areas would provide for security and a united Jerusalem. After securing the borders, the highlands held by the settlers and Jerusalem, Israel can be secure no matter what the Palestinians do and pay no attention to the rapists at the UN. A solution that provides for taking the steps above and then possibly forming a confederation of city states with the Palestinians to include Israeli Arabs in the only just solution to the conflict.
