1. Time to reconsider certain notions
Marcella   (12.13.10)
1) It may be time to rethink the idea that Israel needs Arab recognition. When one compares Israel with the Muslim states - or any other state for that matter - one can't help but wonder why a country as rich in history, civilization and contributions to humankind as Israel needs the recognition of Muslim states. Why? Is it out of fear? Then the answer should be to increase exponentially Israel's arsenal and its R&D in the techno-military field. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It seems that this idea of giving land away in exchange for "recognition" is nothing but the Israeli political establishment's FIG LEAF to sell partition to the Jewish people. Of course Israelis want to live in peace with their neighbors. But a piece of paper guarantees nothing. Not even the promises of Israel's closest allies are worth very much, as history teaches us. The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood said recently that if they get into government, they will abrogate the country's peace treaty with Israel. And if extremists ever win an election in Jordan, there goes the peace treaty too. If the Arab world wants peace, Israel can offer them peace. That's all. But not Jewish land. That's not a peace agreement. It's a holdup, a fraud. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2) Regarding the PA campaign of hate against Israel and the Jews: The PA has been propagating the most offensive kind of Jew-hatred seen since the 1930s and 1940s in Germany. It's in its media, children's TV, school textbooks, speeches by authorities. And yet, this and past Israeli authorities - which have at least some influence on what goes on in the PA and on the money going there - have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to put a stop to it. They have not registered even the slightest sign of being insulted and they have failed to defend the honor and security of the Jews of Israel. This is outrageous. So should we be surprised that the PA, after denying Jews their humanity and their right to the land, is now denying Jewish history as well? ~~~~~~~~~~ 3) And should we be surprised that UNESCO is echoing such claims? The UN is a club for world despots and corrupt governments. Israel and other democratic countries are playing right along, giving this club legitimacy and funding it does not deserve. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is one more thing to say about PA denial of Jewish history. If Israeli authorities - past and present - REALLY believed that the land of Judea and Samaria is filled with Jewish history and significance, then WHY does it appear to be worth so little to them that it can be volutarily surrendered? If they truly believe it's Jewish land, annex it. Then make an offer of peace and cooperation to all your neighbors.
2. Don’t deny the Jewishness of Jews from around the world
A voice   (12.13.10)
3. UNESCO is not the enemy of "Israel"...It's the truth
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.13.10)
Oh yea, denying Palestinian " Muslim &Christian" connection to Holy Land IS the right way to advance peace ! any reference to religious history regarding the rights to "Israel" is absurd......you cant just take someones land put up a fence and say now shut up this land is ours because England says so or bible says so , our land is not for sale......While the Jews shout and cry about bigotry they themselves as a culture are the biggest bigots , how do you explain "jewish state" ?!! "Israel" is the largest threat to world peace at the moment, We at least do not deny that Jews have a right to live with us on an equal footing, but in return most of the Jews even deny that we are humans beings !!!
4. Some historical facts that readers need to know...
christianpalestinian ,   las vegas, nevada   (12.13.10)
The ancestral homeland of the jews is not Palestine. Abraham (the father of the jewish people) is from Ur (in Iraq near Basra), not Palestine. Abraham and his immigrant entourage travelled to Palestine, but was met by thousands of Canaanite and Philistine people who have been living on the land between the river and the sea for centuries before Abraham was even born. Most jews in the world today (70% at least) are not semitic people with no semitic DNA (most are of european descent, not middle eastern descent). Please stop the lies.
5. deny oue existence
a ash ,   tel aviv   (12.13.10)
we in the medina are living-prospering-educating ourselves - the only thing they do is teach to kill --let us never stoop to the way the arab lives. am yisrael chai.
6. "Tomb of Rachel" probably not Jewish
Stan ,   USA   (12.13.10)
We know from looking in the Tanach that the modern location that supposedly is the Tomb of Rachel cannot be so. It is actually located in the opposite direction from Jerusalem where it is in the Tanach. If this were the only site under contention, I would not be particularly bothered.
7. #3 First inhabitants
Raphael ,   Netanya   (12.13.10)
The oldest Neandertalians in the world were found in a Haifa cave. Put a keffieh on an Neantertal's head, and you will see a very acceptable Palestinian, considering paleolithical behaviours towards neighbours, women, property, etc...
8. #4
Joe ,   USA   (12.13.10)
So this Canaanite before Abraham had direct relation with the current "palestinians", and potentially muslims before Abraham and thousand of years before Mahoma .......

Joe ,   USA   (12.13.10)
If what you say is correct, so Jesus, who was jewish even accepted by christian tradition, did not really exist ...
10. christianpalestinian #4 inventing facts
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.13.10)
Is an old Arab custom, but doesn't mean we are stupid enough to accept them. Since Arabic doesn't even have the letter 'P' and cannot pronounce it, how is that you are a 'Palestinian'. As for the Philistines that is a Hebrew word meaning 'Invader from over the seas'. That is to whom you claim? The fact is that everything you wrote is pure bullshit. Most Israelis are in fact of ARAB descent, not European. Go back to the gambling tables and leave the facts to those that know them.

John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (12.13.10)
Salma, you say "We at least do not deny that Jews have a right to live with us on an equal footing..." Does this mean that you disagree with the PA when the PA states that the Palestinian state will have _NO_ Jews living therein? Yes or no? Why or why not? Also, a grammatical note which you might not be aware of: one capitalizes Bible in the same way that one capitalizes Koran or Tibetan Book of the Dead. It is a unique work. Finally, if the Bible does say that the entire Promised Land belongs to the children of Israel, then if you disagree that is your right, but please be aware that your dispute is not with the Jews but with the Author of the Bible. While this is completely between you and Him, it would be mean of me not to warn you that this is unwise.

John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (12.13.10)
Blessings, my Christian friend. You are correct that God called Abram from his home in Ur of the Chaldees and led him to a home that he did not know about. And you are also correct that that land of Canaan was populated by, well, Canaanites. The Bible also says that the Promised Land is indeed Canaan. The Bible says that this Promised Land was given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel, and to the children of Israel forever. And the Bible says that God Himself fights for Israel against the people of the land. This same Bible says that God will call His chosen, the Jews from all over the world back to Israel, and that when the Messiah comes, He will bodily save the Jews from their enemies and rule the world from Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish people, forever. Read the Bible, especially the Revelation. The Bible shows that Jesus will return specifically to save the Jews, who are the chosen people of God, from their enemies. If you are saved, obey the Bible: it says to bless the Jews, pray for them and support them. As to the genetic composition of the children of Israel, that is not nearly as important as whether or not they still worship the God of their fathers. The Gibeonites were not Israelites and actually tricked their way into the nation of Israel, but God gave them a place among the children of Israel and did one of his coolest miracles to save them from their enemies. And they were still part of His chosen after the return from the Exile.
15. Holy Land connection
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (12.14.10)
It is true that Jews did have a solid connection with the Holy Land in days of Antiquity. But at some point they fell into deep sin and rejected their Savior Who is now the Savior of us all. His Presence, Ministry, and Martyrdom in Jerusalem abolished the Jewish connection to the Land, which still remains illicit for that reason.
16. To Marcella
Luiz Felipe Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (12.14.10)
Marcella, my travel to Israel, November past, has increased the admiration I have had, since I was a teenager, for the Jewish State. I think, also, all Hebrew land belong to Her. But, in Cisjordania there are Arab territories that must be given back. But the precise borders ought be drawed through a honoured and fair peace treaty, whose begining is the recognizing of Israel by all Arab neighbors. I salute you. Shalom. Luiz Felipe Haddad.
17. i think
sara ,   jerusalem   (12.14.10)
when god asked moses to pass to holy land it was not policy it was a religouse decision as god know there will be jesus then there will be mohammad and it will be fore evry one but judism will be the minority not a widspread religion .. i think jews could preserve their jewishness in evry where but this article is not a religouse but for policy ..sure time is advancing forwords islam is the latest religion and palastine and jerusalem and hebron is a holy place fore moslems also it is religouse but if it is policy .--god forbid me - jews must be thrown in the sea .. as they deny the islam and the cristinity as religions from the same god ..moslemes do not deny judism it is in our holy book and moslemes do not deny christinity as it is in our holy book but jews deny the islam as a religion becouse of policy not otherwise
18. #13 John
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.14.10)
PA says that the Palestinian state will have _NO_ "Israelis" living therein..... There Is A Great Difference Between Them ...... we have nothing against jews, John :)
19. #10...that's what this is all about, invening facts?
Edithann ,   USA   (12.14.10)
Why do you insist your facts are the 'real' facts and not inventions? Don't you know it's all inventions? Such a silly meaningless argument..and certainly not worth stealing another man's home and lands for! Do you get that fact? . TATA
20. #18 Salma
John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (12.14.10)
So ... if you have nothing against Jews, why does the PA kill people who sell land to one? And why were Jewish cemeteries under Arab control desecrated, and why did Palestinians desecrate Joseph's Tomb and destroy Hebrew texts in awful ways there? Also, would you please explain why PA educators teach that fighting Israel is not merely a territorial conflict, but also a religious battle for Islam? Finally and most important, why do children's programs on PA TV and Al-Aqsa TV teach children to hate Jews? (there are too many examples, but I can copy/paste some at random if you want) Those seem to be at odds with your expressed views, but I'm an outsider looking in. I welcome your responses, because I want to understand the whole issue. We need to understand each other. (also - as regards Jews in the Palestinian state - the PA leadership has specifically said there would be no Jews in the new Palestine - the same would happen to the Jews there as happened to the Jews in Jordan in 1922. It's not good news, but I thought you should know)
21. # 20..Are you serious John?
Edithann ,   USA   (12.15.10)
Jews have always been taught to 'hate' the non-Jew...It's Talmudic... And they have been taught that same 'hatred' for 2000 years... The proof of your hatefilled educations is reflected in those Rabbis who've finally shown the world how embedded that hatred is.... Can you honestly say you haven't been taught to 'hate' the Palestinian and are using that hatred to steal and demolish more of his homes and lands?...Of course you are..and of course you can't see it..What thief will admit he's a thief and a murderer...It's always got to be someone else's fault...right?.Hahahaha Your comments about Palestinian education is nonsense...as is Israel's so called claim to Palestinian lands... TATA
