The fact of the matter is that one percent of Brazil's population control 99% of the country's wealth. The vast majority of Brazilians live in despicable, poverty-stricken circumstances. I don't have the statistics on the tip of my tongue, but the last I consulted IBGE's statistics, 17 million people were off the poverty line, the many social projects Lula has implemented ( like Pronaf, for instance ) are sailing smoothly and so on. And yes, we have many huge inequality problems which Lula tackled. Of course, the elite, who hates poor people are indignant and say how come poor people have access now to consumer goods?
