inncent human being ?One day there will be justice .
3. How horrible and sad. The poor bloke probably never heard
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (12.28.10)
the word "Mossad" before in his life. Poor, poor man.
4. Truth murdered. Was he like a Palestinian "collaborator"
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.28.10)
Given the repression of the Islamic regime in Tehran, we'll never know the true story of Ali Akbar Siadat. One can't but wonder if his fate was like that of thousands of Palestinians, murdered by their own brethren without trial or jury. Their "crime"? They were "collaborators" with Israel. The truth often emerges that the "collaborator" in reality owed somebody money, or somebody owed him money (great way to wipe out a debt), or looked at somebody's sister the wrong way. I'm assuming that like the majority of Palestinian "collaborators", Ali Akbar Siadat was actually innocent, but had offended some Iranian official who handled the offense in the efficient Middle Eastern way....by killing the poor sod.
5. Convenient method for Iranian gov't
R ,   Israel   (12.28.10)
Very conenient way for Iranian gov't to get rid of anyone they don't like. Accuse them of spying for Israel, extract a "confession", and execute them. The world won't speak up for that unfotunate person. How convenient for Iran gov't.
6. Some People....
Hmm. ,   USA   (12.28.10)
obviously this man must have been a spy or something. I wouldn't feel sorry for someone who trying to illegal exploit my country. Who knows what the case is, but I personally know that Israel wouldn't be so nice either if they had a spy on their hands, especially if it was a muslim... infiltrating in their apartheid business in Gaza, huh? Idiot had it coming.
7. Ahmadinnerjacket
Righteous Zionist ,   Israel   (12.28.10)
deserves poetic justice - the same fate as Saddam Hussein
8. Typical of a paranoid and brutal dictatorship!
THE GREEN REVOLUTION ,   LIVES!   (12.28.10)
And these primitive and bloodthirsty "coutries" are part of the Human Rights, the UN and preach to us about how we should behave in a civilized way. They don't even know how to spell Human Rights and Civilized! They know that they will eventually hang, heads down, like Mussolini, and they fight their freedom fighters with brutality and perversion. THE GREEN REVOLUTION LIVES! DOWN WITH THE IRANIAN DICTATORSHIP!
9. # 7 It shall happen
Sagi   (12.28.10)
People who hang people will eventually be hung.
10. #6 Hmm from the USA - surprisingly un-American comments
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.28.10)
Wow - who would have thunk it that an American would support the Iranian dictators. No open trial. No defense. No facts. No truth - all of which are protected by the American constitution. But it looks like Hmm does believe very much in his/her own country's ethics. And then, of course, s/he spits out some lies about Israel too claiming s/he "personally" knows about Israel? Yet Israel does not have the death sentence, even for espionage. Strange how somebody 6000 miles away from Iran who admits s/he knows nothing about the case concludes that the "idiot had it coming." No wonder America is on the decline, if Americans like Hmm are thinking like Islamic thugs.
11. What would Allah say?
Naive ,   Tel Aviv   (12.28.10)
I'm naive and idealistic, please understand that when reading this talkback. How does a man sleep at night, with all of this blood on his hands? Does invoking the name of Allah really absolve his soul of his actions? How can you declare yourself righteous and simultaneously murder, for political gain? If the greater Islamic community fails to condemn these acts of political murder, is it a declaration of support? Sure, the argument of execution of a spy maybe offered, but it is unlikely this person was ever given a fair trial, and such arguments are therefore invalid. The Iranian lack of justice is well documented. Do we get to hear any condemnation from the Islamic world?
12. #6, care to name someone
Danny   (12.28.10)
who was executed for spying ON Israel?
13. # 11 Naive
Sagi   (12.28.10)
In the context of Iran and Islam he received a fair trial. Sharia law and Khadis are what Islamic countries live by. I do not condone this and in fact I condemn it and I have a very strong dislike of Islam and all that it involves and stands for, but a fair trial he received. Democracy and Islam are totally incompatible, not good bedfellows, and if you take a look at the changing world in terms of demography then you will come to the conclusion that Islam and its ways and mores shall one day dominate the world population and democracy will take a minor part. This is sad but it is a reality and it is unstoppable. There is one hope and that is the fact that freedom is and always has been a natural quest for Man. In the ensuing battle between religion and freedom I hope that freedom shall prevail. I can only hope that perhaps this battle will start in Iran and spread. Religion causes a person to be a slave. Non belief in "God" but faith in Humanity and Mother Nature causes a person to be free.
14. Amazing?
Chris   (12.28.10)
J. Pollard was convicted of spying for Israel, received a life sentence. Netanyahu wants this traitor who was granted Israeli citizenship to go to Israel? Then admitted guilt and filthiness, without any shame bibi visited him in prison??
15. @1 Now it's time for US to show mercy,,
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (12.28.10)
and let Pollard out, or risk being seen as more criminally insane than Iran.
16. #13 Sagi
Naive ,   Tel Aviv   (12.28.10)
Judaism teaches tzadakah (charity) and the wisdom of Solomon; rules are fine, but common sense must prevail. Christianity teaches compassion and understanding (turning the other cheek). Islam, I don't know. So, it seems it is not religion, per se, but how it is used. A knife can save a life or it can kill, it depends upon how it is used. The message is not to condemn religion ( I am secular), but in its' application. The same is true for politics, power and any form of leadership.
17. most israelis abroad for dirty work .....# 1 list
if not all   (12.28.10)
18. Where are the human rights outcry????
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (12.28.10)
I wonder if the person who asked that question asks about the human rights outcry for all the human beings that Israel assassinates. Those people have no due process of law whatsoever. Not only are they assassinated but many bystanders are killed, including children. As long as Israel is doing the killing no matter how it is done, it seems perfectly acceptable.
19. Betrayal and the United States - #14
Kate ,   London, UK   (12.28.10)
The shocking thing is that Israel felt the need to spy on an ally. The truth is that nothing much ever changes in the U.S. During the Holocaust, the US betrayed the Jews of the world and, at very best, did not lift a finger, to save them. During the 1973 war, when Israel stood on the brink of destruction, the U.S. had to be blackmailed before she would help Israel. It is not surprising therefore that when the U.S. found that Iraq was building a nuclear reactor and importing nerve and biological gases, she kept the news secret from the Jewish state. When push comes to shove the U.S. is no different to any other gentile nation when it comes to the treatment of Jews. It's why I am such a committed Zionist. The U.S. people should get down on their knees and give thanks every single day that Israel destroyed that nuclear reactor. However, instead of thanks, we have this medieval persecution of Pollard.
20. So much for Iran Justice
Roi ,   Miami   (12.28.10)
21. One lost, 1000 nw spies on their way
Eran ,   Singapore   (12.28.10)
22. #18 You must LOVE Iranian Justice
David ,   Chicago   (12.28.10)
I hope you will have to deal with it one day. Abu Ghraib looks like a picnic in comparison. Go on , keep defending them.
23. Marlene # 18
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (12.28.10)
Due process of law? These people you speak of are killers who have no respect for laws or anyone. Why should Israel treat these scum like human beings when they don't act like human beings? Israel is doing the world a favor by taking out the garbage. Think of the lives that could have been saved if only someone had done the same to Hitler. Your compassion is misplaced.
24. Iran would probably not hesitate to hang more innocent...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (12.28.10)
...people only so that it appeared in the eyes of Muslims around the world as the regional power that is "winning" its struggle against Israel and the "Mosad". Of course, the life of the innocent is of no importance when used at the alter of Islamism and its hegemony in the Middle East.
25. Barbaric
Dan ,   Florida   (12.28.10)
There is no better proof of the failure of Islam and its true barbaric nature. Unable to progress past its medieval practices, Islam has kept its practitionaers ignorant, in poverty and under a brutal thumb of oppression. With this execution Iran has taken it to a new level of insanity. Western liberal romanticize Islam but this is no romantic story.
26. Hanging
Marty ,   Toronto Canada   (12.28.10)
Does the poor victim at least get his 72 virgins?
27. # 16 Naive
Sagi   (12.28.10)
Of course you are right in your analysis, it is not religion per se. Religion is the instrument, unfortunately throughout human history, or at least since the misconception of "God", this instrument has been used to manipulate the feeble mind of the masses. It has been used, or misused, to such an extent that the actual misuse has become the norm. The instrument has become the decision maker in the hands of those who wield it. Nowhere is this more obvious and prevalent than in radical Islamic countries such as Iran. The negative effects of religion on the Human Race have by far outweighed the positive ones. Man must believe in himself, in Nature and the Planet Earth, all else is pure nonsense and only leads to people being killed, maimed and hanged in the town square.
28. mercy for this guy,i'm quite convinced
Shai Moyal ,   Israel   (12.28.10)
that guy was not more then oppositionist to Ahmadinejad
29. #10 Actually, it's the American way of dealing with spies
(12.28.10)
30. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.28.10)
1. Nothing "obvious" about it. The Islamic Republic of Iran is not above hanging innocent individuals, as they prove on nearly a daily basis. 2. How do you "personally know" anything about Israel? I doubt you can point to it on a map. 3. Israel withdrew from Gaza several years ago. So your "infiltrating in their apartheid business" is both inapposite and ill-informed. Not to mention incredibly stupid.
