31. Everything always explodes in fictional "Palestine"..
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
"Palestine" is not only a fictional state but a nightmare state. Perhaps where bad little boys and girls go to receive their punishment. Everything is always exploding in fictional "Palestine" and the media always says the opposite of the truth. Well behaved children get to spend time in more enjoyable fictional states like Oz, Atlantis or Neverland. "Palestine" will never be more than a nightmarish fictional state. Fayyad and Abbas are welcome to be pretend leaders of fictional "Palestine". That and a few shekels will buy them a cup of coffee.
32. 15-Roz- Occupation?????
Bruriah Sarah   (12.30.10)
Who was the king of Palestine? Where was the palace? Where are the artifacts and which museums have them? Who were the trading partners and what did they trade? Why is it that when Egypt and Jordan occupied the area it was not considered occupation? Answer: There was never an arab country called Palestine. It always referred to the ancient Romans renaming Israel Palestine.
33. Who will be the citizens...
Avi ,   NYC, US   (12.30.10)
...of the Arab State? Will the refugees who left the Arab countries to settle in Israel (Arabs of the Jewish faith) be able to vote for the Palestinian parliamint? Does this mean that they will stop being Israeli citizens?
34. give them their enemy State then go to war against it

he will be called a radical or extremist for this view - even though pretty much everyone is thinking it and saying it in the Arab world. It is clear that what Norman Finklestein said is true: Israel needs to suffer a major defeat to have its big head put in its place, the US needs to stop bein relied upon as the main mediator (its like Iran mediating a peace treaty between Hezbollah and Israel), and the whole nature of the peace agreement (i,e. the racist 2-state solution) needs to be replaced with the one-state solution.
36. Stupendous? Or just plain stupid?
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.30.10)
You betcha - let's rely on a whacko extremist pseudo-intellectual academic as our single source of wisdom in a very long, complex and convoluted conflict. In fact, let's adopt Herr Finklestein's truth and arrange a massive military defeat for Israel. Stupendous! Thousands of Israelis dead, tens of thousand wounded...and, of course, tens of thousands of Arab dead too. Then, let's take the survivors, enemies for the past century, and force them to live to together since otherwise it would be "racist". The one-state is declared, and civil war erupts, killing tens of thousands more. Why? Because it's a stupendous solution! Or maybe just stupid.
37. if I am not mistaken FB was created not
ghostq   (12.30.10)
for making virtual states but more to be close with your friends, and it is jewish invention, I think people who comes with demands need to make sure they can give something in return that is how normally good deals r being done, but palis take and there r not any loans just hands outs, to creat a state that based on wellfare is distorted.
38. We want more than a FB Peace!!

39. The tortuous road to peace....
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.30.10)
Yes I guess that wider recognition of a Palestine Homeland helps frame and indeed clarify the ultimate goals of the peace process underpinned and guaranteed by the world community. In that sense it could be a good idea for both Palestine and Israel Thats said its certainly no substitute for a Palestine Israel Peace Agreement who when all said and done as neighbours have to learn to live work abd thrive together And please DONT refer to the lands as West Bank or Gaza...Its East and West Palestine!
40. 35 - Stupendous ..or stupid?
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.30.10)
Is this just a joke or are you plain plain witless? Do you honestly believe that Palestinians are fighting and sacrificing to share their future in the same country with Israelis? This One State Solution is simply an excuse by Hamas and others to engineer some sort of eventual demographic take over of Israel maybe in 50 years Israelis dont want a One State Solution Palestinians dont want a One State Solution Period
41. The REAL and not virtual state
Lioness ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
The REAL and not virtual Palestinian State is The Jordanian State of Palestine which OCCUPIES 78 % of the Mandate with 78% of the population Palestinian. Jordan IS Palestine.
42. #35 - an Israeli defeat means death to Israel
William ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
This is and always has been the goal of the Arabs, and people like Finklestein who has been against Israel since its inception. Do the Arabs say "we will war against Israel so they stop building settlements" or do they say "we will war against Israel because their existence is wrong, all land is Arab, and all Jews will be cleansed from the region"? Why is a 2-State solution considered racist when Israel has Arabs as citizens while the PA wants a State JEW-FREE? Sounds like the Arabs are pretty racist in this game. Plus, do you really want the war to end and there be peace in the ME, or just an end to Israel? My guess is the latter. In human nature, you never push two opposing groups together to create a State then pat yourself on the back for a "democratic job well-done". It happened in Yugoslavia, Iraq, most colonies in Africa, and even Belgium - and you see how they turned out...sectarian violence, racism, hatred. Do your homework, you racist hack!
43. Fayyad and Mickey Mouse
Spencer ,   Israel   (12.30.10)
Fayyad, If you'd recognise the State of Israel and it's right to exist, this would be a good start to peace in the ME and then the possible birth of a Palestinian state. But since you wont there will be NO palestinian state. In the meantime just know that ISRAEL is real and is here to stay.
