1. Israel soundly rejects Two State Final Solution..
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.02.11)
The author once again repeats the canard that most Israelis accept the creation of a hostile new terror state in the heart of Israel. Wrong. That is why the Knesset champions of this abomination, Labor and Meretz, are being voted out of existence. That is why the right gains more seats in every election. Israel soundly rejects the evil Two State Final Solution. Nor does anyone have the right to discuss ceding Golan to Syria, which is complete madness. This is our land now and forever. Israel has suffered more than enough from lunatic appeasement and retreat.

Why should Israel always have to surrender?
3. Give the Israeli Golan to a baby dictator who built a

nuclear plant with the intention of wiping out Israel? According to this logic we should let all the convicted terrorists out of jail and give them money and machine guns and maps of vulnerable Israeli targets. Some columns are not all that funny.
4. One delusion should not replace another
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (01.02.11)
Yes, it's now clear that what for Israelis and Palestinians constitutes a peace settlement differs radically, and most Israelis no longer believe Palestinians are prepared to live alongside a Jewish state. But does that mean Israelis are prepared to swallow Plocker's delusions about a peace with Syria? Hardly. They know, contrary to the claims of peacenik generals, that the Golan retains strategic value even n this age of missiles, that Syria will NOT break from Iran or end their support of Hezbollah, and that Israel has both historic and legal rights to the Golan.

He is the genius who castigated Israel for helping the Haitians after their catastrophic earthquake, saying that the help should have gone instead to the Gazans after Cast Lead.
7. DEAR MR. PLOCKER
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (01.02.11)
The problem with Syria is not necessarily a matter if territory i.e. the Golan .Syria needs a change of heart and mind and to accept Israel as its neighbor .Syria needs to reject the idea of conflict with Israel and to accept Israel.Your suggestion for golan residents to be evacuated from their homes is evil ,immoral and ridiculous .I hope you are thrown out of YOUR home one day so you will understand how it feels. Syria instigated aggression against Israel and consequently lost the Golan .A peace deal with Syria which forfeits the Golan would be worthless and lethal .

The evil was what you did when you obliged Syrian villagers to leave their home in 1967. You ae in the eyes of the whole planet ( except your so-called fake western firends) the humanity shame and evil.

All the Syrian Arabs who left, chose to leave. They left when the Syrian Army withdrew. Those Syrian Arabs who remained are accepted as Syrians but on Israeli soil. And why was there war with Syria? Because Syria bombarded the farming settlements for years and fomented the arming and threats that began the '67 war. The 'details' nail you again.
12. Israeli politics are make Bibi impotent...
Persian CAT   (01.03.11)
add that to his legendary incompetence. Of course there will be NO peace with ANYONE as long he is the PM. He has promised his dad that he will not have peace in his lifetime. The Israeli military have been telling the corrupt and incompetent Israeli politicians that Israel will either face war or peace after giving back the occupied territories. So far Israel has managed to get by through weak coalitions. "Time waits for no one", as the Rolling stones said. Missiles have changed the game and all Israel is doing is looking for cover. Peace is the best cover and Israel is blowing it.
13. Hm - ?

Are Syria realy serious about peace ? Syria does not need Golan, so why is She speaking of a War and Peace situation, regarding it ? Hm -?. Orao.
14. No need to spoil what ain't broken-defacto Peace with Syria
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (01.03.11)
Let's compare formal "Peace" with Egypt and informal Peace with Syria. Egypt always votes against Israel in all UN resolutions and all other international forums, so does Syria. Egypt has very limited trade relations with Israel, so does Syria. Egypt allows Hamas terrorists to arm themselves against Israel. Syria allows Hizbullah terrorists to arm themselves against Israel. Egypt's media, film industry, artists, educational system and Imam sermons incite hatred against Israel day and night. So does Syria. Egypt is weak militarily but prepares itself for an armed confrontation with Israel for no good reason, so does Syria. If "Peace" with Egypt minus Sinai yields the same results as no-Peace with Syria but Israel keeping the crucial Golan Heights then why change anything? I know this because I am the Best World Affairs Expert in Training. My Tex-Mex Burrito Crystal Ball still informs me Obama reelected and it is always right even if Obama will not be reelected. It is all true, I only report the way I see it with 100/100 vision through Al Jazeera colored glasses 8000 miles away from Middle East. Syria is not interested in hostillity with Israel, the beef is about the Golan and water resources. So deal with them. The next major war will be over water resources, already Africa is looking to curtail the Egyptian use of the Nile waters, Syria and Israel have scarce water, and need to implement some type of co existenace on this issue, by working together.

price we paid in 1967 in gaining the Golan and then in keeping it in 1973 was astronomical (read "Duel for the Golan"). Israelis do not forget. Even now, the government of Israel is offering young families land in the Golan and very low mortgage rates for building homes. We aren't leaving the Golan for some mythical peace with Syria, no way. The Israeli public wouldn't allow it.

One has to be out of one's mind to even consider exchange of an invaluable military platz-d'arm of Golan, liberated by a lot of our soldier's blood, for a piece of toilet paper with PEACE scribbled on it by Assad. Hey, how STUPID one must be to think this way! All this playing into the hands of Arab bandits and their Euro-appeasers! Thanks to "sages" like you we have now Hisballa instead of South-Lebanese Christian Army which we betrayed and threw to Moslem volves. Thanks to you we got the great good news of UN 170? ... don't even remember it's exact number - another piece of toilet paper signed by your friend Livni, which Hisballa put on the nail in toilet and continued to bring in (under UN and our watchful binoculars) thousands upon thousands missiles from Syria (to whom we should entrust our security, thank you!). So - where will be the END of this wishful thinking? Where?
