It looks like this Russian immigrant is trying to transform Israel into his former motherland. Suppressing any opposition, spreading xenophobia and racism, and using hyperbole and incitement for political gain. Just like mother is done in his mother Russia.

Lieberman is a smart pol who knows that the Israeli electorate shifts votes more within camps than between camps. His latest rantings are an attempt to sway the right wing of Likud and others within the nationalist camp --just as Livni courts the Israeli center and Left in competition with Labor and Meretz. The more interesting question is whether an increased Arab vote and a swing leftward of secularists can change the 65-55 left - right knesset balance of power that exists now. Among the Russian speaking population there must be some who see Lieberman for what he is and are revolted by the prospect of the "putinization" of the Israeli government.

Υes I am Jewish but I am not an Israeli citizen since I refused to make aliyah ( I live like any other immigrant in any western country of the world - regardless of his religion). Well, for your awareness, same sex marriages are recognized in Israel when they have been performed in a country where there are legal (in my case the UK)... Misrad Hapnim recognizes us as any other married couple in Israel
