I can't really say it was nice knowing you after all the damage done to the country. The more the parties split into different factions the more they split the vote. One man bands never get elected but they take votes away from traditional Labor voters and the end result is Labor are one seat less and the people that split don't get elected either. Labor will soon resemble Meeretz, once a major player on the left now struggling to survive.

Mr Ego "my way or the highway 'do you think the vetrans of Labor are impressed by this guy! He is on the intelectual level as Shlomo Sands He's on his way out of politics with his new inficteminal party he should take Livni and Ben Elazar with him evenutally he will end up in another nearly defunct party Meretz before the final end and it couldnt happen to a nicer guy .
8. Will the last leftist to leave please turn out the lights?

All the signs are there that the left in Israel is going the way of the dodo bird. This is NOT good for Israel. There is no social democratic voice in Israel, because the left abandoned everything to do with social democracy in favor of the golden calf of the "peace camp". Yet nobody knows what the "peace camp" means, let alone the leftists who belong to "it". Does it mean "the end of occupation" will bring peace? If so, then the occupation of what? According to the Palestinians, Tel Aviv an Haifa are occupied territory. Does it mean withdrawal to the "green line" so that there will be peace? According to Hamas, they don't recognized "peace" with Israel and Fatah will only sign for the green line if Israel allows a flood of two million "refugees" into the country - also a non-starter. The "peace camp" is a camp unto itself. Nobody else in Israel cares if Ben-Simon leaves. Almost nobody in Israel expects Meretz to be in the next Knesset, and nobody expects Labor to get more than 10 seats...and even that is an optimistic prediction. My hope is that the left will wake up and declare that it is once again the social democratic voice in Israel that has been missing for over a decade. All Israelis, right and left, want peace. All Israelis are also concerned about jobs, health, the environment, education, poverty and 101 other issues that the left has abandoned for the golden calf of the "peace camp". The clock is ticking down, yet the left continues to commit political suicide by being a one-issue block.
9. peace illusions
alexi   (01.11.11)
ben simon along with brave4rman and herzog want to leave the coalition because there is no effective peace process. They want israel to concede more than olmert offered and abbas refused. For this reason, this party which is meretz under another name, wil be wiped out in the next election.Barak will also be wiped out, though he may not run for office again. Its something that ben simon is so desperate for peace that he advocates israel to enter the ovens again. There is no peace and israel will have to guard any process and be watchful which it is, while simon says what the hell, lets go to a binational state which is a recipe for destruction. Jews and arabs don't get along, think differently and were never binational. In fact, it is the arabs who are the foreign invaders not the jews. While liberman may be too strident, haaretz and the pro palestinian israeli groups are forgetting the holocaust.

As much as I dislike the man Barak is trying to make Labor electable in future by trying to get away from the socialist roots and make it a more centre left party which is what Kadima is aiming to be. The public don't want socialism anymore they want a more centrist approach but unfortunately for Labor the rest of the party are resisting change and want to stick to the old Labor values. Even if it means they have to sit in opposition they can at least say they have stood by their traditional values. IDIOTS
