I was standing in line right in front of Najwan. I have also known her for years. I am Jewish, and Israeli, and consider her to be a colleague. This was an annual event, hosted by the government, inviting the foreign press. Every single person there has a government-issued press card, and has already undergone extensive security checks just to get it. To selectively degrade some journalists based on racial-profiling is beyond silly ... it's embarrassing for this country. Airport screening in the US will beep and then you must remove your underwire bras along with any other article of clothing that has metal and makes the machine beep. I have 2 total knee replacements that beep and the x-ray scanner shows what they are, that doesn't matter. I am put in a glass box next to the TSA and gone over with a fine tooth comb and questioned extensively about everything. Also EVERY single thing is taken out of whatever I am carrying with me and gone over meticulously including medicines. ANY one else traveling with me is subjected to the same procedure.
