Just like last time Syria will step in supposedly as peace keepers but then never leaves because they do not recognise Lebanon as an independent state. This time though Hizbollah will be taking their orders from Iran. It might not win any Nobel Prizes because it doesn't have the glamor of the peace process with the palestinians or Syria but if Obama is serious about peace making the place he should start is Lebanon. Sort out Lebanon and you create stability in the north and you weaken Syria, Iran & Hizbollah. It also reduces the chances of Israel fighting anymore wars in Lebanon which helps create stability. If Hizbollah hadn't provoked Israel into war in 2006 I think it may have been possible for Israel to open secret negotiations with the new anti Syrian government. Forcing Israel into a war made sure the Lebanese public would never accept their government holding peace negotiations with Israel and instead rally around Hizbollah who are the peoples champions. They wanted to make peace impossible and we fell into their trap.
