1. Ploy
R ,   Israel   (01.23.11)
May be a ploy for pleading insanity. Insane or not, he's a danger to society and should be locked up forever.
2. acting
bpbp ,   usa   (01.23.11)
so he saw himself in a mirror. what is the big deal.
3. Is he truly crazy or crazy like a fox, to get out of trial
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (01.23.11)
He is too dangerous to be free, so go to trial and if he turn out to really be this crazy then a prison mental ward will do.
4. The only demon in the cell is himself
AVI ,   Israel   (01.23.11)
a classic example of religious extremism, lets hope that he never sees the light of day ever again.
5. which means that he was sane when he committed the crimes...
(01.23.11)
he's dangerous to society! Leave him locked up!
6. jewish terrorist and the worst of the kind

7. Corrections
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.23.11)
The Talkbackers all say Teitel is a dangerous criminal, but there is no evidence. The AG and police decided to pin the Nachmani street murders on a Rightist even though it is more likely the work of a jilted gay lover. They arrested Teitel because he was an easy target: a loner, American immigrant, lives in a small village, looks like a Leftist caricature of a "mitnahel". They have no evidence, so they let the SHABAK Jewish section "talk" to him for three weeks without a lawyer. After three weeks of "talks" Teitel admits doing every unsolved crime in Israel and that he has the superhuman ability to smuggle weapons into Israel. In the meantime, it turned out that Teitel could not have committed the Nachmani street attack. To sum it up: There is no evidence whatsoever that Teitel was involved in any crime. An innocent man who previously worked to support his family is now mentally broken. The Nachmani street attacker has had more than a year to cover his tracks.
8. Another Rabbi Uzi Meshulam case in the making...
Joseph   (01.23.11)
By the way, were the authorities of the Israeli prison ever indicted for poisoning Rabbi Uzi Meshulam leaving him a complete invalid upon his release 5 years later?
9. @6 Jewish+terrorist = oxymoron.
(01.23.11)
10. #7 Evidence
Michael ,   Haifa   (01.23.11)
It is the function of a court to evaluate the evidence, not Israel Israeli
11. #1 his removal from society isn't the question
Ilan ,   Ariel   (01.23.11)
Presuming that there is evidence other than a confession upon which to base a conviction then Teitel should definitely be confined to a mental institution, but denying a prisoner psychiatric care in order to avoid having evidence that he is unfit to stand trial is simply cruelty for it's own sake. It is also not justice by any standard of a civilized society.
12. Is he nuts????
Spencer ,   Israel   (01.23.11)
It's a great way to avoid a trial....Pretend you're nuts. The only demon he saw in the mirror was himself.
13. The most perfect example on where religion leads the human m
Ex-Orthodox Jew   (01.23.11)
Period.
14. probably a schizophrenic
(01.23.11)
he sounds like a paranoid schizophrenic like the arizona shooter
15. So what does his fan club want?
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (01.23.11)
He was declared unfit to stand trial. He escaped the possibility of a couple of murder convictions. They should be glad that they won. If any political strings were pulled it was for his benefit.
16. #10 be scared
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.23.11)
Even if the evidence will show he did the crimes when he was sane, he won't stand trial because, thanks to the the Jewish section, he is mentally gone. Be scared: a country where a man is arrested for a crime he could not do, and three weeks later admits he did because of "questioning" is no longer a democracy. It could happen to Israel Israeli for writing Talkbacks, and even to Michael from Haifa. Just so you know: in the United States the Shabak agents would be jailed, the head of the Shabak would retire, Teitel's wife and children would get a multi-million dollar settlement and all charges against Teitel would be dropped (even if guilty) because of what happened those three weeks.

Michael ,   Haifa   (01.23.11)
Thanks for your posting. Gosh ! You are so brilliant. With people like you around, I have no need to be scared

19. Are you Cucu too?
To ex orthodox ,   Il   (01.23.11)
schizophrenic or paranoid It's not religion it's your genes
20. when exposed to too much Arab terrorism, people can go insane
(01.23.11)
how long are Jewish people in Israel supposed to watch Arab and Islamic terrorists being supported by everyone in the world and their evil actions justified until they get tired of these murderus people and their Leftists and Westsern and Moslem supporters all over the world and try to act like everyone else toward these fascist criminals who are constantly either attacking them physically or threatening them psycologically all the time?
21. Trial Balloon
Donna Diorio ,   Dallas TEXAS USA   (01.23.11)
This is a trial balloon to see if anyone will notice or care if Teitel gets off of being held accountable. The most important things a news article contains are supposed to be in the first two paragraphs....but it takes the last four paragraphs before it is mentioned that a 15-year old Ami Ortiz sustained severe wounds when he opened the Purim gift basket that contained the bomb. He wasn't crazy, just full of hatred!
22. Leftists why dont you go to Amsterdam and stay there? You
Observer ,   Israel   (01.23.11)
have no interest in truth. It IS possible this man fits the criteria for mental illness in which case according to the laws of western countries, he should be getting psychiatric care. Are you so crule that you would murder him again and again each and every day he has to go through the disease in his head without let up? Who is the extremist now seculars? Your hate has made you far worse than any so called religious person. You should be ashamed, if you had any, or if you believed in it. Im not even religious but at least I try to be consistent in my judgement, unlike you whose bias makes you a terrible judge. lol-sad.
23. Keidar no long Teitel's atty
DD ,   Carrollton USA   (01.23.11)
This article quotes atty Avi Keidar, who has long since left representing Teitel. What is going on - an old quote, or worse? Why are there no challenging quotes from the prosecution side? Is this just testing how much of the public is willing to let this case be swept under the rug? Ynet should investigate the facts - not float trial balloons.
24. Nr 19.
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (01.23.11)
Its neither !. It is Spirital possession !. Orao.Srbia.
25. Perhaps he is just evil.
Claudia ,   Tampa, USA   (01.23.11)
Considering this guy supposedly confessed to sending a package/present bomb to the Ortiz family and nearly killing young Ami Ortiz seems his hatred did not apply only to Arabs but to Messianic Jews as well. That is the act of an evil doer not just a psycho.
26. Same symptoms as "Salma" from "Palestine"
mea   (01.23.11)
remarkable likenesses--fighting imaginary demons at virtually every Jewish newspaper story, throwing things at virtual mirrors, yet being focused enough to look directly at cameras. Amazing. Is it possible? The evidence is clear my friends, the evidence is clear....
27. You know if his lawyer says his mind is deteriorating
Scott ,   Haifa   (01.23.11)
then you know that the opposite is true.
28. look before you Leap!
(01.23.11)
Do you live on the Moon?
29. #7 - I'm pretty sure they have a video tape of him planting
Faruq   (01.24.11)
the package/bomb outside the home of the christian jews.
30. #29, they do have a video of him leaving the scene
Scott ,   Haifa   (01.24.11)
I saw it on Israeli TV...he is also unrepentent and arrogant to the parents of the teenager who was hurt, I know them personally. Number 7 doesn't know what he is talking about.
