2. running scared
citizen   (02.01.11)
good move on the King's part but it won't last - sooner or later the masses (comprised of 70% Palestinians) will want much more - this could lead to a real revolution not so-called peaceful protests/demonstrations and Jordan could indeed become Palestine
3. king abdulahh STOLE PALESTINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jordan=palestine   (02.01.11)
NO SUCH THING AS JORDAN!!!!!!!!

The king must be fired and the royals rooted out. They are all bunch of thiefs.
6. the dominoes are falling in place
chaim.s ,   brooklyn ny   (02.01.11)
Israel's so called friends in the middle are all falling, first Tunisia, then Lebanon, now Egypt,Jordan is next, the palestinian authority will be taken over by Hammas, the noose around Israel's neck is tightening, to give back any teritory now in YESHA to our enemies, would be absoluterly suicidal, but of course leftis'm has always been suicidal
7. So what?!?!

a vacuum between the populace and the government ... added that the Arab Middle East is the first geographic region where spreading water shortages are shrinking the grain harvest... A national salvation government headed by an elected prime minister, might not be such a bad idea. It may save his vintage sports cars.
9. A rock anna hard place. "True reforms" = no king
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (02.01.11)
Bah, humbug! Kingy (whom I still refer to as "son-of" kingy) is a one of the last of his kind, a monarch ruling over a "kingdom". True political reform would mean a constitutional Jordan with fully elected parliament and a figurehead king - like the queen of England. Is Abdullah that much of a patriot to do the right thing for his subjects and abdicate power? Will Abdullah bring tiny Jordan into the 21st century? Or at least into the 1980s? Hmmmm.....I doubt it.
10. this is good news salma #7
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (02.01.11)
you and your "people" can go home soon. back to jordan and egypt!!! bye!
11. Abdullah is not Hussain....
Eli Vardi ,   Raanana,Israel   (02.01.11)
Apart from that, Jordan really is most of Palestine, and they have the most Palestinians. Queen Rania has just been too blatant in flashing her wealth, beauty and ability in front of a traditionalist population.
12. Time to turn Jordan into Palestine.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (02.01.11)
We have lots of Palestinians we can export to Jordan. That's the only two-state solution I support.
13. @10 " David"
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.01.11)

15. It is time for the big move . . .
AlbertoGA ,   St.George, USA   (02.01.11)
Jordan Kingdom is dead. Long live the real " Palestine " All the Pals must move east. The King and family must move to London with all the other Arab hotshots. The game is over. And Gazans by the way must move to the same spot. Basta la Musica.
16. #13 A warm, fuzzy thought, that may be good in theory.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.01.11)
You think that you are fooling anyone because you have stolen the Palestinian identity from the Jews? Guess again. You're a bunch of frauds. You are for the dung heap of history. Get used to the idea. The world is so sick to death of you and your violence and your terror. Even your fellow Arabs cannot stand you. What does that say about you?
18. To the King of Jordan
Ahmad Badawy ,   Cairo Egypt   (02.01.11)
GO GO GO TO HELL YOU MUST GO.
19. #13; Salma, What's That
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (02.01.11)
Who was President in the country of Palestine before Arafat? What was the currency and when was itn ever trade on the International monetary exchange? What were the precise borders of this country? What was the Capital of this Country? Where was the Parliament or its equivalent located? When were elections held and how many times did this occur before Israel was reborn? Why did Arab leaders in Palestine serve in the Parliaments for the Ottoman Empire if they had their own country? Why did the Arab leaders believe and state to the British Peel Commission they were really part of Syria, and that no Palestine existed, that it was a Zionist invention? I think you get my point.
20. Our dear Salma reduced to platitudes
rob ,   Orangevale USA   (02.01.11)
Salma, i hope you are rewarded someday very soon with your own state of Palestine. I really do, However, when the chips are down it's better to rely on reality than fantasy ,and that reality is that there is nobody in the entire Gaza or West bank capable of honestly dealing with the people crammed there. Nobody really cares because of this, and people around the world, Muslims around the world, really only care about themselves and what they can glean from other nations without having to work for it. When and only when that "issue" is addressed will the world consider helping in a tangible way. Rail on if you must, but better to actually DO something for your dreams, other than just lip service. Shalom
21. King should go back to the Hejaz
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.01.11)
Reclaim his real "kingdom" from the robber clan of Saud.
22. Question for Salma
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.01.11)
Why do "Jordanians" have a right to "Jordan" but Jews have no right to Israel? Who gave Jordan the right to rule over Palestine? You do know that "Transjordan" was "Palestine" before 1923, don't you sweetie?
23. #13, so you advocate expelling palestinians from jordan?
Mike ,   Atlanta USA   (02.01.11)
24. When's Saudi Arabia and Kuwait going
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (02.01.11)

27. 10
zionist forever   (02.01.11)
Salma There are more palestinians living in Jordan than there are Jordanian citizens. Considering there are more of your people than there are Jordanians that pretty much makes Jordan the palestinian state by demographics alone doesn't it? If it hadn't been for oslo and we had thought about the palestinian problem abit more at the time all it would have taken for at the international community to have given Jordan a huge payout in exchange King Hussain make all palestinians full Jordanian citizens. If the PLO tried to make any trouble they would be crushed but now the palestinians are all Jordanians anyway they would have lost their powerbase. Its actually the only truly viable option. Lets say we create 2 state do you really think a country in just 22% of mandate Palestine, in 2 halves with a growing population of 5-6 million with very little water & prime agricutural land can ever seriously be viable? Other than a gas field of Gaza worth around $4 billion you have no natural resources. You wont even be allowed a military to defend yourselves, Israel will probably insist on control of your airspace to avoid another 9/11. Your state will have to many people & not enough land or resources to take care of everybody. Jordan would have been perfect. Its big, has a developed economy, resources to look after everybody & probably the most liberal arab king who would protect you and provide stability... no Hamas or Fatah crooks or infighting. Its just a shame that nobody is looking beyond the 2 state idea which has failed so miserably when it would be so easy to pay off Jordan and problem solved.
28. THERE ARE COLD SWEATS
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (02.01.11)
"According to the palace, the king named Bakhit as prime minister with orders to carry out "true political reforms"." Suddenly this 'king' is a reformist liberal. But who stopped him from carrying out reforms previous to now?NOBODY. This 'king' is no reformist liberal. He's somebody who got away with it as long as he could until the going suddenly got hot when the downtrodden people got hacked off.I hope that nobody's fooled by his posing. The same could be said for Mubarak and all the other Arab tyrants who'll say anything to hold on to their power and privilege.None over them should be believed or trusted. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
29. Bakhit is not a reformer
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.01.11)
He's a military man with little or no democratic impulse who presided over the most corrupt elections in the history of Jordan. The winds of change are not blowing in Amman.
30. The Next in line to rule Jordan is a "Palestinian"!!!!!
Yaawqove ,   Israel   (02.01.11)
The crown prince ("palestinian" by his mother, queen rania) is the next king of jordan, and hes "palestinian" !!!!!!!!!!!!! JORDAN IS PALESTINE
