I loved the story but could not help wondering why the yeshiva student took the bird to a slaughterer. With no respect to the other students it seems like he was one ignorant extremist. Where were the other students to try and stop him? These are obvious questions the writer of the story left out. Seems like Rabbi Levi Brackman and Rivkah Lubitch did not do their jobs very well. Is it me or are people in general not capable of thinking or common sense these days? I would love and answer from these two reporters! One more thing, the thought of that student being so stupid and cold to what may have been a divine communication is revolting and anathema to the spirit of the Talmud to begin with. Did his instructors even try and reason with him?
