3. A Very Touching Story .
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.08.11)
I Hope the Baby Will Be Allowed to Grow Up . I also hope that the "IDF" will honor these Humane soldiers, not to punish them.
4. Will This Artical Reach Al Jazera?
Bigizz ,   U.S.A / Israel   (02.08.11)
I wonder what Nasrallha has to say about the Israelis now. Try to Imagine..An Israeli pregnant women that only speaks hebrew. Her family's car breaks down near Hebron or Ramala or any Arab nieghborhood on the way to the Hospital to give birth...What do you think the out come of this senario will be?? I cant even fathom the results of this outcome.. Bigizz USA/ Israel
5. what if it were baby girl?
observer   (02.08.11)
the baby would have been delivered at the roadblock point and warped in Toilet paper. IDF is the great accentuation of sex discrimination.

I would assume that the Palestinians would do the same job if not better. Many Israelis get lost in WB and when they are found they are returned safely to the Israeli authorities. And please, don't forget how many pregnant women lost their babies while waiting on Israeli check points, please read the news or ask Israeli Human Rights organizations they will give you this info
7. Israel's army keeps constant presence in WB streets
observer   (02.08.11)
even in rainy day after 44 years of military occupation. Even if that in Jericho presumably controlled by PA according to Oslo agreement. Does Israel really honor its own agreement?
8. #3: WHAT??????!!!
Israeli 2   (02.08.11)
Punished? Why would the heroic IDF soldiers get punished? By whom? For what?
9. # 5
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.08.11)
what a pathetic warpped way of thinking you have. Had the baby been a girl the IDF would have acted the exact same way.
10. Israeli soldiers do such acts of nobility and kindness all
Mitzvahs ,   Israel   (02.08.11)
the time. too bad its a better story for the anti Jew crowd to blow up a facebook picture of suspected terrorists blindfolded with a ditzy girl in front Kiddush Hashem is what these soldiers did, imo. Good for them!
11. Mark in Ramallah. I have a bridge to sell you...
Get real ,   Planet Earth   (02.08.11)
her name is "brooklynn"... jews that wander into arab towns dont fare too well, to put it mildly. I dont know where youve been the past 120 years of modern Jewish history in the 4000 year Jewish homeland, but you should pay more attention to the lust for murder against Jews in Judea and samaria. people cant go hiking without armed bodyguards. why is that, fool? You obvioulsy hate Jews anyway so should I be delicate in not calling you a fool? My intuition says its an apt description.
12. the difference
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.08.11)
Due to the weather conditions and complications, Ms. Salamin's baby would have died if it hadn't been for the IDF. When some Jews want to take a nature hike, Arab rioters try to murder them.
13. #6
(02.08.11)
Number of pregnant Arab women who lost their babies at Israeli check points: 0 August 31, 2010: Arabs attack a civilian vehicle, murdering four Jews, including the pregnant Talya Imes. May 2, 2004: Arabs attack a civilan vehicle murdering four little girls: Hila (11), Hadar (9), Roni (7) and Meirav (2) and their pregnant mother Tali Hatuel. After stopping the vehicle, the Arabs approached the vehicle and shot each one of the victims from close range, including Tali in her pregnant belly. In both cases, both Fatah and Hamas declared the Arab terrorists national heros and pay their families a generous stipend.

Do you need me to tell you what invariably happens to Jews who happen to take a wrong turn in the Arab areas of Judea and Samaria? Do you need me to tell you why there's a wall and security checkpoints?
15. #10 not all the time!
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.08.11)
but it's a very rare story, if this story were not so, why Ynet published it as one of its main stories ?!

Mark ,   Ramallah   (02.08.11)
It worth pointing out that a number of baby deliveries have taken place on the Israeli military checkpoints scattered throughout the West Bank and especially at Huwwara. A number of these babies have died as a result of the denial of access to the appropriate medical facilities.
17. @#3&4:
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (02.08.11)
Salma, the baby has a chance of 98.5% of growing up - infant mortality in the West Bank is 15 to 1000 births. Better than, say, Turkey, in which infant mortality is 27 to 1000 births. Mark, Israelis who have the misfortune to venture into the West Bank or An Arabic neighbourhood in East Jerusalem don't always fare so well. The most infamous case was in the year 2000, when two Israeli IDF reservists were lynched by a mob in the Ramallah police station. More recent cases occurred last November in Issawiyeh, when rocks were hurled at an ambulance, which was called to treat a Palestinian, only a day after three students and a tourist were misled and drove their car straight into an ambush in Issawiyeh. http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3980474,00.html And only yesterday an Israeli bus was stoned by Palestinians in Mt Scopus, Jerusalem, near Issawiyeh. Luckily There were no injuries. http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4025021,00.html

Israeli Human Rights organizations are not credible for me.Why is it that Israeli citizens are not allowed into Jericho?

We would be happy to see a partial list, say from 2010. Names and dates that can be checked of course, not some unsubstantiated allegations by Yeshu Gvul, Machsom Watch or Fatah.
20. Mark , Ramal;lah . What about the LYNCH
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.08.11)
some years ago ? They too were lost , remember ? it happened in your town . Is that that is "returned safely" for you ?

24. @#7: Read the story again. The IDF ambulance was called for,
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (02.08.11)
the mother was not stopped at the street as you imply. There was no breech of the Oslo agreement here.
25. IDF
Jorge el judio ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (02.08.11)
Thank you soldier, you have proved that you are human. Is anybody from UNHCR reading this? To those that speak about ocupation. 1. Poland ocupies part of old Germany. 2. Ukraine ocupies part of old Poland. Both because of the politic of the matches of Winston Churchill. 3. England ocupies Islas Malvinas, Gilbrartar and other pieces of territory. 4. Turkey ocupies part of Kurdistan. The above countries have more years of ocupation. Now respect of Israel, the historic land was devided in 1923 giving part to an arab country who king was rejected by the Saudis. After the Holocaust, they divided the land again in 1948, fertiles areas to arabs and arid areas to Jews. The "good arabs" expelled the Jewish from their homes (to settled them in the Jewish Homeland) and now they are upset. Please LEAVE US (THE JEWS) ALONE IN OUR COUNTRY ISRAEL.. You have 192 countries more to critize (I included South sudan)
26. #13all babies delivered at Israeli check points weren't lost

27. #24the army's ambulance patrols street in case soldiers hurt
observer   (02.08.11)
that only means heavy presence of the army soldiers in Jericho's streets.
28. #24 indeed, it IS the breech of Oslo agreement!
observer   (02.08.11)
29. Mark Of Ramallah: Prove your point
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (02.08.11)
Typically false charges are made by the Arabs in the disputed lands. This was a classic example "babies died at checkpoints". The facts, the number of deaths is ZERO. This was pointed out by another poster, Mark of course in his response posted nothing to prove his false allegation. When these charges are investigated by objective people they prove false entirely or we find facts have been omitted (lies through omission) to create the false narrative. So we hear or read these remarks over and over again, but put simply, they are lies to vilify Israel. It's done to elicit undeserved sympathy, like the fake crisis in Gaza. When people saw the pictures and video's of the real Gaza, they were stunned at the blatant lying by the Arabs. But it was a wake up call to the leftists who were angry at having their good intentions cynically manipulated. The Arabs lost a good deal of credibility from the left, their main supporters here in the U.S..

BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.08.11)
Speaking about breeching Oslo, let's discuss Arafat's intentional refusal to remove the clause from the PLO Covenenant which called for the destruction of Israel Which effects far more people than a single ambulance does I see that you ended your #25 with (end) , let's make that permanent you're just a pest that has never seen anything, with access to a keyboard so you can peddle your non-observing nonsense
