The joke of it is, of course, that this same Libyan regime that in the past two days apparently shot and killed hundreds of its own citizens - well, it was made a member of the UN's human rights council a few years ago.

Thank you for your support. Although it would be nice to think that the protesters would come and help the Jews free Israel from the illegal Arab occupiers, I doubt it will happen. I just read an excellent report that a journalist made after a visit to Libya. You have to read it to believe it. I visited Libya way back in 1978 & I was so shocked by what a backwards, nasty, sh*thole the place was, I got the hell out in three days. At that time, the Libyan gov't. was importing a great deal for their state-run stores. If you paid off the right people, you got the contract & they would approve the most outrageous over-pricing. While I was in Libya, I heard the story of an African businessman who had sold jeans to the Libyans. At the time, it was standard practice to deliver jeans with unfinished bottoms so people could make the length they wanted. This did not please the Libyans who demanded that the jeans be finished. They would not allow the jeans to be returned to the African's factory for finishing - they demanded that he bring sewing machines & workers & finish them in Libya. He offered bribes but they were refused. This poor guy, facing bankruptcy, jumped out of the hotel window to his death. Anyway, you can read a little bit about life in Libya in a report by Michael J.
