Eran ,   Singapore   (02.25.11)
2. Where are the human rights organizations?
OnTheOtherSide ,   USA   (02.25.11)
3. Will they address US massacres in Afghanistan?
Jake ,   Savannah   (02.25.11)
Of course not. The UN is a corrupt political charade.
4. Brilliant piece, Prof. Elad
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
Thank you for pointing out the truth about the hypocritical Europeans and United Nations. I echo your question: Will Judge Goldstone find the time in his busy schedule to investigate crimes against humanity in the Arab world -- or is that something which his schedule permits exclusively in order to excoriate Jews and Israel? Thank you again.
5. Human Rights groups already have condemned violence
Hostage   (02.25.11)
I guess you wouldn't know if all you read is Eldad's dissembling nonsense.
6. Brilliant article
Dan Kelso   (02.25.11)
Great article which shows the hypocrisy of the left and the Islamists. Notice how Islamist Turkish PM Tayyip Erdoğan is silent on Gaddafi massacring its own people. The insane thing is, libya is on the human rights council for the U.N.
7. Irrelevant and already done
Tel Avivoid ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.25.11)
I can't address all your claims, since they are vague generalities and, well, I don't have a whole column like you. However, you mention four human rights groups and their "silence." Of these, three deal solely with Israel and thus have no reason to be talking about the Middle East in general. Why don't you ask where the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel or Civil Rights Organization of Judea and Samaria letters of condemnation are? The only other group, Physicians for Human Rights, HAS condemned the violence. You can read their letter to the UN about the situation in Libya on their website. Perhaps this "silence" is only your own deafness.
8. Already Answered Your Own Question
Ron ,   OC, US   (02.25.11)
Violence in the Arab world is the norm. And, Goldstone won't be anywhere to be found.
9. Why write such a lenghty article? The title answers it!
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.25.11)

sas ,   israel   (02.25.11)
will not let him get involved in this......................the man is 2 faced.
11. Eternal shame to Goldstone and hil ilk!
Rehavam ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
12. Pure rubbish
Menashe ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
Mubarak did not send 7 borders and camels to take care of thousands of protesters. They were from the outskirts of Cairo and were frustrated that the Protesters were ruining their livelihood . Tourists besides most of the organizations you mentioned are Israeli with interests only in israel
13. Viscious cycle
Sigmund   (02.25.11)
The author is setting up a viscious cycle based on flaws in human nature tribalism predatism and the love of blood. We cannot fall into this cycle . We will be all annihilated jew and gentile. We must make at least a cold peace even walled off and gates spaces with our arab cousins especially the arabs of israel and palestine.
14. SPOT ON !!
Paula ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
Get this article going...email it to all you know.
15. Moshe Elad, is there part 3 of article ?
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.25.11)
I can't find the good news !
16. Ask yourself these questions
Isaac   (02.25.11)
Why was Libya even on the HRC? Have you bothered to ask yourself that question #5? Where have HRW, Amnesty International, etc... been all these years? Where were the voices of Peter Bernoit, Andrew Sullivan, Thomas Friedman, Roger Cohen, etc... all this time? You have the EU trying to "revive" the peace talks; well, what member had the Lockerbie bomber, set him free in Libya (because he was suppose to be dead from cancer, but is still alive & kicking over a year later), and according to wikileaks, did it for oil? (Hint, Hint, the country's initials are GB.) I am so tired of hearing how lambasting Israel "is constructive criticism" from a "friend" and the "friend knows better than Israel what is in her best interest." Iran just had two warships pass through the Suez canal to Syria, which has 4 nuke sites & Obama thinks yelling at Israel about building a playground is important & worth comdemnation?
17. I agree with Moshe Elad
Jarda ,   Czech republic   (02.25.11)
There isn't any difference between Israel, Gadaffi's Libya and Mubarak's Egypt.
18. About Time
Dr Williams ,   Newcastle   (02.25.11)
Somebody put the plain truth forward. The Hypocrites in the U.K. Europe and the U.N. need to be exposed in no uncertain terms. The U.K. Courts allowed a factory supplying Israel with Electronics to bee looted on the basis of operation "Cast Lead" NOW I call for the looters to continue on every singly company in the U.K. supplying Libya with weapons of mass destruction
19. Moshe How Long Have Jews Been The Scapgoats
Brazen   (02.25.11)
of the WORLD? By the actions currently taken thus far against nations, peoples, and organizations who clearly pose a threat to jewish people world wide and most especially in Israel. Who Has Done anything to stop rockets, missiles, IED's, bulldozier attacks, motars, and small arm fire against Israeli civilians. When ever the Israeli government tries to protect their people they get push back from arabs and their anti-semetic sympathizers. So Moshe the WORLD stands idle as these crimes against Israel and jewish people WORLD Wide unfolds daily, monthly , yearly and by the decades and CENTURIES. I wish Israel would do whats right for the jewish people in Israel First and then the rest of the jewish world wide (other nations) ?
20. Let's not get carried away here. Granted EU & UN and various
leo ,   usa   (02.25.11)
private HR organizations are not as forthcoming as in the case of Israel, but in all fairness one cannot say they are completely silent.
21. Salma @ 15, the good news is Israel gets carte blanche.
leo ,   usa   (02.25.11)
22. Salma @ 15, forgot to add "good news" is relative term.
leo ,   usa   (02.25.11)
23. Revolt in Israel
Harold ,   USA   (02.25.11)
What can Israel do when 21 percent of the Israeli population, who are arabs, revolt against the government.
24. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
That's because for you, there isn't any. You're a big part of the problem, bubbeleh.
25. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
You must have been reading a different article. Nowhere in the editorial does Professor Elad suggest what you are implying. If your English comprehension is that poor, perhaps you should stick with the Czech news websites.
26. #23
Rachel ,   Hadera   (02.25.11)
In case you haven't noticed the Israeli Arabs are quiet.... there's a reason for this. They know what kind of life they have here in Israel. It's what their Arab brothers are fighting for in their own countries. Contrary to popular belief, they are living a good life with more freedoms than Arabs in other Middle eastern countries could every hope for. I'm sure that this is a great disappointment for you- to bad.
27. To: No. 23
Sarah B   (02.25.11)
Your usual stupidity on display. Israeli Arabs are quite thrilled to be living in Israel, where they enjoy true democracy. They have had twenty years to move to areas administered by the "Palestinian" Authority or Hamas, and have thus far declined to do so. I guess they are not all that interested in helping build a viable "Palestinian" entity. Guess they don't really want a state of their own, eh? They don't really want to give up the privileges of Israeli citizenship, either. That would make them extraordinarily hypocritical.
28. "Is Arab violence permitted"
Sagi   (02.26.11)
The answer is a resounding yes. Over the last fifty years the world has become enured to Arab violence and the Arabs have become accustomed to impunity. Only facts and not opinion.
29. Mission impossible
Joe ,   Canada   (02.26.11)
The number of places & the frequency of acts of violence in Muslim countries are so high it would take an army of policemen, lawyers & judges to investigate & prosecute all the guilty parties of past & current crimes against humanity & war crimes. And since most of these countries are ruled by individuals likely to be among the accused, international prosecution is almost always derailed by obstruction from the top leadership. Fellow rogue leaders of other countries help them evade justice, Just look at the two arrest warrants for Sudan's Omar al-Bashir who is still Persona Grata in some foreign capitals. Or consider the "cooperation" of Lebanon under Hezbollah rule in the case of the Hariri murder. And the tradition of the vendetta among the tribal groups or clans fighting each other for religious or political reasons make so many people breach so many laws that there would not be enough jails to lock them up even if their prosecution could be achieved. The best hope in practice would be for a limited number of trials in absentia to try to educate the people on the nature of crimes they suffered &/or committed & to awaken some sense of justice.
30. Gadaafi
BAMA ,   USA   (02.26.11)
First this is not a defense of a brutal dictator. However, Israel is the only country still rules over other people lived and denies them simple rights like getting married and travel. second the united states and UN are working on resalotion against the Libyan government. and possible war crimes in world court. So do not glote for Missouri of the Libyan people and try to make points. shame on you.
