1. Peace talks?? Certainly!! Peace for Peace, Now!!!
JBI   (02.25.11)
2. Can the Qurtet look itself in the mirror without blushing?
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.25.11)
3. Pathetic desparation
Danny   (02.25.11)
to keep what is increasingly irrelevent issue on top.
4. the Quartet turning into a quintuplet?, a sextet? or mor
jo   (02.25.11)
It's credibility has evaporated many years ago. The world today doesn't even remember when it was relevant. With a Tony Blair in the picture, the guy who " set free " the killer of Lokerbee, and the UK's close relationship with Gaddafi, I would say that the chances of success are zero plus zero = 00
5. The Quartet.......
Wise Saba ,   Eretz Yisrael   (02.25.11)
This bunch of bumbling fools would do best to mind their own business, they are clueless. The PA doesn't want "peace", they want"piece", every "piece" of our land & the world still doesn't get it & neither does Bibi.
6. The Quartet
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
One would think that with all of the turmoil in the Middle East that does NOT involve Israel and the ersatz "Palestinians," the Quartet could exercise their supposed lust for peace in other areas. The peace initiative that they are pushing is dead. Gone. Good-bye. Over. The ersatz "Palestinians" are not interested in peace. There will be no two-state solution unless the two states are Israel and Jordan. Enough is enough. The ersatz "Palestinians" need to exit stage east.
7. Wow, now this is REALLY stupid.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (02.25.11)
The Middle-East is in melt-down, Iran is gaining ground all over the place & is building nukes to terrorize the world, Islamists will probably take over most of the Middle-East, & this bunch of fools don't have a clue. The world economy could go down the tubes because of the increase in oil prices, the EU & America are going bankrupt anyway due to screwy Leftist policies & this bunch of deluded morons is stuck on ''Palestine'' - an issue of almost zero importance. Of course, our genius leaders here in Israel aren't much better. The world is governed by fools & incompetents.
8. The is an Agreement
Ellen ,   Netanya   (02.25.11)
If you carefully read the article you will note that it says that the Israelis and Palestinians may want to wait to see what kind of new Middle EAst Emerges. BUT it is only total chutzpah for the Quartet to decide that THEY want an agreement. They need to step back and deal with their own problems. A bunch of meddling old fools, Israel doesn't need!
9. Does the Quartet also cares about the rockets fired from...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.25.11)
Gaza or only about the 20 apartments Jews have built in their capital city of the past more than 3,000 years...??!!
10. September 2011 date false deadline for 2012 Presidental race
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (02.25.11)
September 2011 is a false deadline, given that it is aimed at hitting just in time for Obama's attempt at reelection. More important are the supposed Palestinian and Egyptian elections set for September.
11. The "quintessencial otherside"
Keren ,   IL-BR   (02.25.11)
This Quartet is the epitome of the stupidity, evilness, lack of inteligence ,darkness ,etc ,going on in these days in this earth. May they and their memory and the memory of their stupidity be blotted from human memory very soon, preferably NOW!
12. Quartet is a joke....
Marco ,   Spain   (02.25.11)
Hezbollah's way is the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace....
13. # 4
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
As far as I remember it was Gordon Brown & the Scottish dunces who set the Lokerbee killer free. As for one state, no way will I live amongst them. Not now, not ever. Call me racist, call me dumb, I stand by what I have written.
14. # 8
Birdi ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
Correct Ellen, it was & still is Obama who said & still says, there must be a peace agreement between the 2 sides by September 2011. Do I need to say more ?
15. Those musicians ...
Jules   (02.25.11)
Still believe that if that shout out loud "PEACE PROCESS!!!!" the oil prices would go down.
16. #12 Why hope in something that's on the way out?
(02.25.11)
17. Meetings with TWO sides?
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (02.25.11)
Shouldn't that be meetings with THREE sides?Israel,PA/Fatah and Hamas. Hang on,though, the Quartet doesn't talk to Hamas.I see a problem. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
18. Quartet does not even want negotiations
Seppo ,   Finland   (02.25.11)
So far they have been forcing Israel to accept Arab peace plan. No peace can be obtained without Arab League acceptance. Abbas cannot decide anything deviating from it and besides Abbas is today only Mr. Abbas, election overdue and the West lauds PA for democracy. Further, Their voting in UNSC proved to Abbas that he need not deviate from his requirement of settlement freeze. Quartet can not be a true broker in the deal. They condemn Israel's legal rights to build. Besides they call it Palestinian Arab land. Based on what, they cannot tell. At first they should study international law and take it to be part of any of their proposals. Further, the negotiating party should be Arab League, not PA. Conclusion. There will be no agreement by September. The world has decided to dictate Arab League terms to Israel in September. Unfortunately for them UN has no right to eliminate the decisions of the League of Nations made in 1924 confirmed by UN Charter and Anglo-American Treaty which binds also Obama's hands. Further, East Jerusalem IS THE Jerusalem, It contains all holy places for Jews and if it is given to Arabs no international agreement can prevent Arabs to deny Jewish entrance to the area, as seen during Jordanian occupation 1938-1967.
19. If there is a single stable democratic country in the region
Jehudah   (02.25.11)
Israel that is, the Quartet seems to be eager to undermine its security and ability to defend itself in the face of the upheaval of the region. Where, where is the logic of these people? And, is the hostile attitude toward the Jewish people and its national home of Eretz Israel stronger than reason? It appears this is the case.
20. Let's admit we don't want to talk to the P.A.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.25.11)
It's time for Israel to honestly admit we don't want to talk to the P.A. It has absolutely nothing to offer us. We refuse to cede Jerusalem. We refuse to cede Judea and Samaria. We refuse to have our waist trimmed to a suicidal 8 miles. We refuse to be inundated by rockets and hostile Arabs. So what is there to talk to the P.A. about?
21. To: Birdi at No. 14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
It is SOOOO tempting to respond to Obama by saying "or else what?"! On a serious note, Obama's inept foreign policy is directly responsible for the turmoil across the Arab and Moslem Middle East. Whilst he had hoped to be remembered for achieving an ersatz "Palestinian" state, he is fated to go down in history as the president who set the Middle East ablaze and, quite possibly, as the president responsible for World War III. Some legacy ....
22. How absurd this Quartet
Salman   (02.25.11)
The more they have problems with Arabs or Muslims...... the more they calm their nerves and come on Israel like WOLVES to bite him.
23. How About 40 Years of Anti-Incitement Education First?
Dallas ,   Canadad   (02.25.11)
Is there anyone in the "quartet" who understands what they are expecting Israel to do - nothing less than negotiating its demise?
24. The Quartet`s peace talks between.....
Nora Tel Aviv   (02.25.11)
......TIBET and CHINA will start.... (Your guess is my guess).
25. A Dismal Picture!
Zeev ,   Haifa   (02.25.11)
Twenty Talkbacks! And not one single one who is FOR Peace Talks... What a miserable bunch of pessimists we are...
26. # 6 - " Jordan" !?? Keep dreaming Sarah the big B ! :)
(02.25.11)
27. ARAB LEAGUE DIRECT LEADERS ABBASS NO MANDATE
Martin ,   SA   (02.25.11)
Dear Mr Serry Abass is directed by Arab League. he is unable to represent views of his so-called constituency. Please dont bother our leaders with irrelevant banter. Even his abbass's own people have no say. As for the Arab League their agenda does at present and for the foreseeable fututure, allow for negotiations and deals, Rather irrevant chitter chatter. Why DM Barak is so dedicated to freeze building beats me. We must go on with our lives until a clear mandate is issued not by the PA and not by Hamas. Your idea is nice but distracting misleading and politically irrelevant. DM Barak please have a life in your country and leave off with the damaging freeze. Wake up that the US Administation pulled you in to an unworkable arrangement to our countries detriment. When the A League call US or EU for help then with PEACE TALKS check out if it means something. As much as we wish to be friends with these nice guys EU & US admin, the process has been hijaked. Try spend some time with them and prove it to them. We cant afford this irrelevant so-called liberal left arragement. you so dedicated to and which causes missery to our loyal population. We have enough real challenges to deal with. So Mr Serry your mission is not only impossible but unworkable. If you are looking for succes try another path.
28. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.11)
For once, I agree with you. Israel should adopt Hezbollah's way and use it against Hezbollah, which will result in the total eradication of Hezbollah, a new northern border for Israel and a just and lasting peace with the Lebanese (who will have had a front-row seat to what will happen to them if they do not behave). What a clever idea! Thank you, Marco.
29. BS, more BS, and just plain nonsense.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (02.25.11)
30. Quartet Crusaders
Brod ,   USA   (02.25.11)
Israel should just say NO to the Quartet Crusaders.
