1. Bibi and DooDoo
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (03.06.11)
Pretty simple. There is a large minority that loathes the Beebster. There is a smaller group that outright hate him. Another small group that LOOOOVES him. Yet another group that can take or leave him. But!!! If he loses me, or people like me who always have believed in Bibi's soul and desire to serve the Jewish people and the nation,....well then Bibi iwill be in deepest DooDoo.!
2. Build
mike ,   UK   (03.06.11)
These settlers can build where they like on land destined for a Palestinian state, let the Palestinian deal with these loonies. Israel should withdraw and leave the settlers to their fate.
3. Bibi has no friends
Concerned American ,   USA   (03.06.11)
An old quote comes to mind right now when i think of Bibi's situation. "You reep what you sow". Not supprised at all on the fact that the settlers had turned against him, because settlers are not devoted to their country but rather to their ideology. Sorry!!! Bibi, you had a chance to set the tone when you created your cabinet/government the second time, but you chose wrong. You could have set the tone then and not be in the mess you are in now. It must feel horrible to be betrayed by the very people who you thought adored you. They didn't Bibi, they adored your support of their beliefs. Sad fact of life, mostly everyone learns th hard way.
4. The Philosopher was correct
Michael ,   Haifa   (03.06.11)
Hobbes knew what he was talking about, when he wrote "Let dog eat dog"
5. Dear G_d, these ultra
Lior ,   Israel   (03.06.11)
right wingers (some of which are family and friends) who take entitlements and whose son's rarely serve in the military are shooting themselves in the foot!! They are giving Israel a black eye and the saddest thing, they don't care. ME ME ME!!! Israel belongs to everyone. Bibib is walking a fine line with the whole world breathing down his neck. What, get rid of Bibi for who, Ovadia Yosef. This will backfire for sure for we will get rid of Bibi for an ultra left winger, and then what selfish people. I wish we could have all of the west bank but it will never happen. I wish the hate and bigotry and wars would just go away but we have to find a solution. I know one thing for certain the more you insanely push out of insanity, the more trouble we have. While not ultra religious I am conservative. I understand plenty however I am sick of fighting your battles making excuses for your childish and selfish behaviors. Enough is enough already.
6. Wrong #3, we didn't betray him, he betrayed us
Yosi ,   Gilo   (03.06.11)
He claimed to represent and be on our side. Bibi claimed to want to protect our homes and country. But instead has lied and let Barah destroy our homes and try to give our land to murderous arabs. If he doesn't wake up real quick, may the Knesset vote "no confidence" and force new elections, then someone with a pair, like Eldad, can come in and lead the country as it should be, no giving in to the "outside" pressures or to any silly arab lies.
7.  To #3
Ellen ,   Netanya, Israel   (03.06.11)
People do not adore politicians. They agree or disagree with their platforms and what they are doing. It is not the relationship of a parent to a child--unconditional love! Bibi was elected on a certain platform. He ran making certain promises--now he is acting totally different than what his platform dictated. Of course those living in YESHA only "adored" Bibi's beliefs when the coincided with their own--that is how politics work!
8. to 1,2,3
Jennie ,   US/Israel   (03.06.11)
To Gideon,mike&concerned... 1.Gideon, what exactly is your motive for your DooDoo of Bibi ? 2.Mike; As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about...Obviously you have no recollection of any history...In 65 years, how much and how many times did Israel withdraw and give up land, only to learn that wihdrawals have never brought peace, but more war&terror.Do you know why? Because it is not peace they want...Even if we would give them E.Jerusalem,WB &all they demending, the palis will never make peace with ISrael..They not unified even among themselves. They don't even have a one leader who is capable representing them as a whole..And do you see chamas ever signing peace with us, those amanding their charter? In other words, commiting suicide, giving up terror ?Shame on You !! #3 You may be a concerned American, but please dont concern yourself with Israel..You know nothing about "settlers"...To most people, they are the most patriotic developers of our western frontier. They are the heart and soul of "Shomrei Israel",the real patriots, with real commitments and deeds to the Jewish land and the Jewish traditions. The land they buy and live on, is the ancient Jewish land, under which one can easily find archeological proof of ancient Jewish existence....As of today this land is in Israel's sovereignity, though disputed by EU,UN,etc.. but still Israeli...I dont know what betrayals you mean, but the popular opinion, as well as the facts do indicate, that it is rather Bibi and much of his cabinet (Excluding Lieberman),that did abandone and left settlers without protection, then the way you saying it....So you are totally wrong in all your statements, Mr. Concerned American... Best regards...
9. To Mike: Let Them Blow Off Steam
Noah Lev ,   Hollywood, CAUSA   (03.06.11)
To Mike: and when Israei withdraws, and Hamas/Fatah take over, massacre those who remain ( hear Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Somalia), where will you be? Oh I know, reading the Times, including NY/Los angeles. Unlike the US, which doesnt protest in the streets ( okay, I forgot The Chicago Riots, and recently Wisconsin and the UofCalif, Irvine, Israelis protest..as do many others worldwide. Of course, Iran has its response. Legal protests when controlled, are good for a country. The settlers are less than 10% of the country, but have rights. Bibi feels the pressure, they dont. They want more bedroms, he wants his nation to survive. So far, time is against ALL the Jews in Israel. Egypt a radical Islamic state, Jordan aggressive, a nuclear Iran..and the settlers will have something real to worry about. Get it guys.BTW, I believe in collective bargaining. Its good for moral, something Israel kinows nothing a bout.
10. The UNSC Will Decide This Issue
Noah Lev ,   Hollywood, CAUSA   (03.06.11)
Ring around the P.M. position. Sort of like musiclal chairs in that country. Rabin murdered by a radical rightwinger. Olmert /Livni, got jore votes than Likud, but to no avail. Israel is fickle..in all aspects, for a minicule country. Bibi demands it a Jewish state..as if it isnt'. But, what kind of Jew, Torah or ham eating? Bibi is not perfect, but who (electible) is? Livni is waiting in the wings. Israel should draw its red lines..keeping the major settlements and keep others open for disucssion. put its "Jewishness" on the table. Or, continue the freeze and give Abbas a timeline. Me thinks the UNSC will force the issue.anyway, Get it settlers?
11. do the settlers was to topple Bibi & replace him with Livni?
zionist forever   (03.06.11)
The major settlement blocks & Jerusalem should continue but this campaign to delegitimize Bibi will only risk toppling his government and what happens then? You have nobody in Likud who has has had a chance to develop a power base. You bring down the government and we will probably end up with Livini as PM in a coalition with Labor and all government policy will be decided in Washington and Rammalah as Livni is ever so eager to please just agrees to any demand Obama & Abbas make. After Olmert was forced to stand down the reason why she didn't inherit his job was because she needed Shas in her new coalition and their price was she put in writing she will not divide Jerusalem and she refused deciding instead deciding to take her chances with an election ... which she lost. She has said time and time again she not only intends to give up settlements but that will include Jerusalem. Is the kind of PM they want to have in the Yeshe. Bibi is not perfect but he is the best thats going right now. Israelis can be such children at times
12. Likud must replace Bibi or it will die like Labor and Meretz
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.06.11)
It is no coincidence that Likud is shriveling into noting under Bibi's leadership. Patriotic Jews are leaving Likud in droves; fed up with Bibi's constant betrayal. Likud is Constitutional committed to building throughout Judea and Samaria. Yet Bibi's policies might as well come from Labor or Meretz. This disgusting situation can't go on. Likud must replace Bibi fast or it will die like Labor and Meretz. It wasn't that long ago that Labor was a major party.
13. He will survive.Middle ground is tough, but loonies will lose
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.06.11)
14. Concerned
Gene Graczyk ,   Santa Rosa, CA 95401   (03.06.11)
Bibi continues to travel along his sad path with Avigdor & Friends driving away Israel's few remaining friends. With the Middle East and North Africa in turmoil, Israle may indeed be better off with a completely new government. Hopefully, it will be pragmatic and aware of the need to mend fences in every direction. I agree that the settlers care little about Israel as a nation and see the world only through their idealogical lenses--narrowly and distorted.
15. build
colin   (03.06.11)
Bibi lies again !! He says that he loaths to approve construction in Yehuda and Shomron. He says that the international comminity was pressurreing him SO WHAT ?? Do they live in Israel?? They do allow a criminal murderous nation to send bombs at Israel and the cowardly groveling backstabbing minister of evictions (barak)does agree its the policy to continue the holocast and kill jews. As in germany jews must not build, must not be allowed to decide what happens in Israel BIBI AND BARAK WILL DO WHAT THE ISLAMIC AMERICAN PRESIDENT SAYS. THEY HAVE LEFT THIER PANTS DOWN FOR THE ARAB TO DO WHAT HE LIKES. Elections are close -bibi ,barak and the leftest press have already lost. The pioneers will be elcted and will BUILD ISRAEL.
16. They're totally nuts!
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (03.06.11)
These people are becoming more and more disconnected from the reality. I know Netanyahu is no Kahane(YeSh"U), but he has singularly done NOTHING to advance the peace endeavor or engage in confidence-building measures. His "strategy" has been to try to upset nobody and thus maintain his hold on power. Beat up on the settlers here, beat up on the smolim protesting there, but take no concrete steps about anything. And they see HIM as an enemy of their doomed settlement enterprise!?! Boy, are they in dire need to waking up and smelling the coffee!
17. Be'Zehirut Bibi!
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (03.06.11)
That wonderful human being, that idol of militant racist extremism Baruch Marzel once described the late and murdered Yitzhak Rabin as Stalin. What's changed since then is the emergence of the Chardal movement. If you thought settler rabbis were beyond the pale for calling Rabin Z"L a Moser, this bunch are capable of anything and the Yesha Council is not to be relied upon to oppose Bibi in a democratic polititcal fashion. Look out Bibi, if you propose a 'new and radical' initiative, don't stop because of these guys but be very wary of them.
18. #2, mike where are you settling?,,idiot !!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.06.11)
19. Bibi needs to Go Home
Eli ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.06.11)
Bibi has always been the wrong man as PM. He was a terrible PM the first time and just as bad now. Too nervous, too deceitful, and worst of all no baytsim. The trouble with #2 Mike and # 3 American is that they don't live here so they pontificate from thousands of miles away. There are ample good reasons why the territories must remain in our hands and why there should never arise a "palestinian" state which would be a time bomb ticking away at the heart of Israel. The "settlers are not temporary settlers but permanant ones. They should be called Pioneers because they have what it takes to live in the frontier while the rest of us live comfy lives in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Netanya. Kol ha kavode to the Pioneers of Yesha!
20. Fair Point Mike(#2)
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (03.06.11)
D'accord. I fully agree. Israel should withdraw and let the settlers of Judea/Samaria whip the Pals butt, yet again. The question is how many U.S.troops would it take to save Abu Boo's sorry rear end, and how many times it is necessary for the Jews to beat the stuffing out of those sad sack clowns of the Ramallah circus. I am sure NATO and the EU, under the JOOO hating UN banner will arrive to save their bacon(you should excuse the expression). I betcha a bent Agora it would not take long for the malevolent incompetent; currently the shameful resident of the White House to faint and upon recovery send in a rescue team. What sorry trash are in charge.
21. Likud challengers?
Rachel ,   US   (03.06.11)
Who in the Likud have any chance or the courage to challenge this clown?
22. Extreme right wing to bring in the left again
Logic ,   Israel   (03.06.11)
It seems that these people do not learn from the past. In 1999, the hard right brought down the the Likud-led government. It seems that now they want to repeat the same mistake. It's quite foolish to say the least.
23. He isn't opinionated
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.06.11)
Nor is a pragmatic architect with a sense of vision.
24. Emotions
Daniel Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (03.06.11)
You are all very emotional, but you are forgetting that we are talking politics! The people who voted Likud, voted Likud because of the political platform, so they have ALL the right to be furious with Bibi who was elected to do A and does Z. The only thing that counts is how many votes Bibi got in Yesha, because he is gonna get 0 votes from Yesha next time! Let him think about that and you will see he is sensible when it hurts him!
25. Likud equals labor equals knesset
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (03.06.11)
B"H - We need a Torah State, with Torah Law and Torah institutions
26. Emotions & Feelings
Daniel Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (03.06.11)
In addition to what I said before, let me remind you that our options are dire. Bibi will losse Yesha, but Yesha has not got anyone else. National, religious leaders correspond roughly to 30% of Israelis. Seculars, leftwings and Arabs do make the majority of Israel. Dont forget that Livni coalition got 61 Haver knessets last election. With all the international pressure, poor rightwing leaders and people infuriated with us, rightists... our future is HORRIBLE. Wait for a landslide victory of the left next elections...
27. # 25 100% RIGHT
Daniel Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (03.06.11)
This is a Jewish State. If you want to live here in peace you must be Jewish and obey religious laws. Settle the land, keep shabats and fight infidels. Only religion will save us. B"H.
28. Zhabotinsky appealed to Begin
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.06.11)
However Begin wasn't as stubborn, as well he should have been.
29. shame on you
eliyokim ,   Israel   (03.06.11)
the Jews that live in the settlements do NOT evade the army, you are referring to another sector of the observant population, and the vast majority of them do NOT live in the settlements. Maybe ask the army how the religious zionists fare in the army, and you'll see that you could not be further from the truth. bibi is a weak coward, and sadly most Jews have adopted the same mentality.
30. #5 check your figures
Rebecca ,   Modi'in   (03.06.11)
The "settlers" have about the highest rate of kids in the army, particularly the active units. When you speak the truth then you can speak about Hate and bigotry going away
