1. They must be serious about democracy in Egypt
zionist forever   (03.06.11)
They are starting to look for things to for excuses for abit of Israel bashing. The other day the Egyptian military were demanding Israel extradite people over gas deals done under Mubarak. Now they are wanting to sue Israel for genocide. If the arabs didn't believe all this crap it would be funny. Well this is what comes of arab democracy and peace making.
2. That bastion of impartiality ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.06.11)
... the International Court of Justice. It would be thoroughly laughable if it weren't so sad and pathetic. But this is why all rational and sane people dismiss the pronouncements of the ICJ out of hand. It is troubling to see the direction that the new Egyptian government is taking. That said, I really have missed the Sinai. I will never forget the first time I watched the evening news and the temperature display did not include the Sinai. I cried. I can't wait until temperatures in the Sinai will once again be broadcast in Israel. This time, the Sinai is coming back for good. And the best part? Rendering the smuggling tunnels in Gaza irrelevant. Who says you can't kill two birds with one stone?

AFRIED ,   Delray Beach Florida   (03.06.11)
Considering that 90% of minorities have disappeared in the 55 Islamic countries over the past century I would say that these may be a substantial suite the world would have.

Your post had awakened the same memories and nostalgia, I am cherishing for decades....During the time, you describing,I was visiting Jerusalem from the south with my husband and young children to witness the historical signing of the peace agreement between Golda & Saddat in Jerusalem. This peace came with an enormous sacrifice, that only a nation of Jews, starving for peace could go for..And It did cost us much of heartache and rivers of tears, when in 1982,we had to give up our homes and the beautiful city of Yamit and the flourishing moshavim around(our homes and livelihood) in 1982: the agricultural miracles, we, then young Olim created in the Negev... But the historical peace agreement was signed and we honor it to this day..The peace was cold, at times hostile, blood was shed, but nevertheless it was peace. As the evil forces are beginning to call for jihad against Israel again and intensifying their campaigns of insighting hate based on lies, Israel must fight back with tougher "hasbara". The Government must clean House from disloyal elements within...Israel must demonstrate strenght and resolve rather sooner, then later...There is no other way...While They Talk, We must Act ! We have what it takes to dismentle the chamas and other terror groups...I believe, we can and we probably will help save the Western civilization from this plag....

12. bad news from Egypt...

This new FM in Egypt has only one goal : to bury the 1979 peace treaty with Israel. This guy means bad news for Israel : he's a disciple of the muslim brotherhood...
13. #7 IT'S T-SHIRT DEMOCRACY
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (03.06.11)
The Egyptian kids can say "Look at me,I'm a democrat and I've got the printed t-shirt to prove it." In another 100 years they might discover that democracy isn't just a label. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
14. ISRAEL SHOULD SUE EGYPT
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.06.11)
For starting all the wars Next war, heaven forbid, all that will remain of Egypt will be the Pyramids, the Nile, with a blown up Aswan High Dam, flooding everythng below where the Dam had been
15. Here we go again, with tghe liars, lying.
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.06.11)
So who is surprised, while the MSM tried to hide in the Western TV news, pictures of the protesters were on the web. Many showed pictures of Mubarak with the swastika and Star of David on the signs the Egyptian protesters held. When they burned an effigy of Mubarak there was a Star of David on the effigy they burned. Why the MSM tried to hide this from the USA and other western countries is obvious. But don't worry, any war will be less than six days next time. The Sinai will be part of Israel again. The funny thing is the Arab morons have been spoon fed all the bluster from their leaders, and still believe these proven liars. So they'll get what they deserve. Some posters here are writing about Israel being scared? Of what? One tactical nuke and your history, you stupid fool. Israel has nothing to fear, but Israel as always, just wants to live in peace with their neighbors. As we can see their neighbors still WANT TO DESTROY ISRAEL. They prove it, every-time they open their mouth.

What else can you expect from Nabil Elaraby and Khaled Mashaal, two jerks on the arabian scene. The 1st one has been working in this viper's den, the UN; the other a terrorist, a criminal. Muslims never change. Born nasty, die nasty.
18. what is new?
eddie ,   london UK   (03.06.11)
They have always been anti semitic in Egypt, even during the 30 years of "peace". They had regular nazi styled propaganda; they had anti Israel foreign ministers, like Amr Mussa. Etc They cant feed their 80M people on hatred alone. And they will also feel the pinch when they have no customer for their gas.
19. #5, shaking like she was in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973
Danny   (03.06.11)
By the way if Egypt tears up the peace agreement does Israel get the Sinai back along with the gas and oil?
20. Israel & Egyptian corrupts
observer ,   Egypt   (03.06.11)
Kuwaiti daily "Al-Jarida" reports that Gamal and Alaa Mubarak, the two sons of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, received a hefty commission from Israel to back natural gas exports to Israel. The paper cites what it calls "classified documents" from a special department of Egypt's Ministry of the Interior that was set up following the uprising to examine the Mubarak family's interests. "Al-Jarida" says that the negotiations took place in January 2005 between Israeli officials, former Egyptian Oil Minister Sameh Fahmi, and East Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG) shareholder Hussein Salem, an associate of Hosni Mubarak. The paper claims that Gamal Mubarak received a 5% commission and that Alaa and Salem each received 2.5%, of the 2.5 billion Egyptian pound contract, which was signed in May 2005. Will the contract still hold legitimacy?

You are delusional, Egypt is an 87+ million country and has the largest standing force in the Middle East. With a pretty Modern western equipment and Western training from all those Brightstar exercises.

Think of all the fools thinking that "democracy" has/is about to come to the ME. Even today, commentators are still commiserating with the rebels in Libya, totally unaware that they are mainly radicals similar to the Taliban In a years time, even Obama will wish he still had Mubarak in power...
24. J Post is wrong

1-Elaraby participated in Camp David agreements back in 1978 2- Elaraby vowed to respect all treaties including the peace treaty with Isreal. 25. to George #24
eddie ,   london UK   (03.07.11)
Peace to you and all of Egypt! When things calm down, both sides will realise they need good relations. And yes, it is OK to criticise corruption in Israel, - remember Mr Olmert? Except the legal system removed him, without any bloodshed.

87+ million, yes, who are sitting on their brains. Never underestimate the Israelis, especially in times of war.

Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.06.11)
it all...the Sinai should have stayed with Israel...and it were the American "friends" who managed to slice it off... Now an American "friend" tries to finish the agenda to dismantle the Jewish state...
28. #24; George; If thta's all it is...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.07.11)
Then you'll never have a problem with Israel. Who has kept the peace, of course you can criticize Israel, heck everybody else does. I just find the criticisms to wrong or hypocritical most of the time. But remember that goes both ways, expect Israel to criticize Egypt and others when it see fit. Not the one way street, Arabs seem to prefer, where you can physically attack Israel (unprovoked), and Israel can't respond, and you can verbally attack Israel, and Israel can't respond. Israel has the right to self defense whether it's physical or verbal. By those rules, Israel can play. It's always been the denial of that right, Israel...and its defender's...have objected to.Maybe the MSM is just trying to instigate a fight, after all you how the news works in the West, if it bleeds it leads. Of course that if the press in there, sometimes, like Libya now, and Burma in the past, journalists are forbidden to hide the truth.

Will the appointment of an alleged anti-Israel FM in Egypt match the appointment of an extreme anti-Arab/anti-Muslim FM in Israel? Before we can complain about the Egyptian appointment, we need to make sure that our hands are clean.
