G-d forbids a war between Israel and the Arab countries because Israel is serounded by the most advanced rockets supplied to the Arabs by US, GB, France, Germany, Russia and all other previous members of the Soviet Union.
32. Hostile Israel
masry ,   Egypt   (03.07.11)
I've read some of the previous comments like destroying Egypt, the aswan dam, re-hijaking the Sinai, and all I have to say is this:we DO NOT WANT WAR, but you ever mess with us, nothing will help you, not your Mama america, not your nuclear arsenal, not ever Moses this time, 100+ milion will be on your heads, you'll be finished, mark my words
33. Shows that Egypt is taking the non-democratic route
Rachel   (03.07.11)
Israel must be prepared no mater what is the outcome of this unstable situation. US must sign a pack saying that if Israel is attacked so is USA.

the sinai is egyptian territory now and forever. if another country attacks egyptian/another country"s soil, egypt/any other country has the right to defend itself against the criminal agressor(s) with all means for the sake of survival and mankind. criminals no matter who (singular or plural) should be punished without distinction/exception. think twice before doing crazy/idiotic/criminal things. not any country is the policeman/ boss/master of the entire world. no one/ group/elite/country is under or above the (international/global) law, which applies to all of us.

that poor, innocent western civilization. there is more/are more civilizations in this world. down with superiority/arrogance. history explains us why and to where that can lead to. we are all equal/equal in value (about 7 billion people) from our birth with duties/responsibilities and rights.

Jennie ,   US/Israel   (03.07.11)
And all I want you to know, masry in Egypt, that Israel had never threattened Egypt...Israel has honored the peace agreement to the fullest all of the years. I can remember at least one incident shortly after the peace agreement between Egypt & Israel(1982), when a bus of Israeli schoolchildren, traveling near the Egyptian border, was attacked by Egyptian terrorists and most of the children were murdered...Nobody remembers this anymore...And masry, America is a much better mama to you, then to us...We had never mess with any of you, people, but we always knew to stand up and defend ourselves...You never saw us running...And with the help of our Faith in justice and the conviction of our right to live in peace on the tiny sliver of land given to us by the League of Nations & UN over 60 years ago, we are right where we are destined to be and we will percevere, just as we did for 6000 years. And you can eccept us and enjoy our respect and coopertation or fight us, but never see us running...No little masry's or nabil's will mess with us and get away with it...
38. #29 are you advocating the genocide of 7 million people ?
rachel ,   usa   (03.07.11)
you psychopath!!!
39. Israel choosing Kahanist Lieberman as FM says it all
Leon ,   US/Israel   (03.07.11)
Lieberman has been threatening Egypt ever since he was raised up by Israeli zeit geist and made FM of the Israeli people. He has for years said if Egypt pisses Israel off he will blow the Aswan dam and has said if there is trouble with Lebanon Israel will destroy all the civilian infrastructure in the country. Really can Israel criticise any country's choice of FM when Lieberman is the Jewel in the crown of Israeli culture?
40. Looks like business as usual in Egypt
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
Sad for the people of Egypt who brought down the govt because of corruption, unemployment, inequality, oppression....and the response they got (despite the cabinet shuffle) was the same old "Israel is to blame". Will the people of Egypt never get a fair shake? Shame on the people of Egypt if they do not fight against this fake narrative to erase the govt's past mistakes by blaming outsiders.
41. #5 - yeah, the people said "get rid of Mubarak"
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
where most said "Israel isn't the problem....the fact I can't marry because I don't have a job is the problem". It seems the Egyptian govt that's still shaking.
42. #1 - It's because Arabs caught a brief glimpse of themselves
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
in the mirror....and they didn't like what they saw. More comforting hiding under the blanket and blaming the "boogie man" for their ills.
43. #11 - conversion at the sword is not valid
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
but is the majority of conversions that occur in Islamic lands. Just ask some "palestinian" tribes which acknowledge they were Jews prior to the invasion and oppression by Arabs in the 7th century. Then you also forget the huge exodus of Christians from Arab lands, forced out by their "peaceful Muslim brothers". Go ask Christians from Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza, West Bank, and Egypt how their life was under Muslim rule. Hint - better cover your eyes and sing "lalalalala" as loud as you can to drown out their response. How about the B'hai? Currently, the target of systematic cultural and physical genocide in Iran. And of course let's not forget the mass targeting of Jews in Arab lands following the birth of Israel, plus the theft of billions of dollars of wealth, even though these Jews were loyal to their birth country and had no interest in whether Israel existed or not. Funny how even for ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and genocide, Arabs can still find a way to pat themselves on the back for being "good people".
44. #20 - even Wikileaks presented their documents
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
When with the Kuwaiti daily do the same? Ah, nevermind. Merely a rumor is enough to place guilty verdicts on the heads of anyone in the Arab world. But still, now that Israel and Egypt have peace, selling gas to one country and not another is against rules of the WTO because it institutes a boycott which is illegal. Egypt did the honorable thing and held to the peace agreement that including many provisions for economic trade and tourism, of which the gas deal was one. What exactly did Egypt do wrong by following Intl Law? Oh right - they didn't uphold the racist Arab boycotts and war crimes against Israel. Hmm - wonder when "secret documents" from Jordan will begin to appear in Gulf dailies.
45. #31 - wasn't that also the case in 1948?
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
Everyone fed the Arabs weapons, the British handed over their forts and left, and the West turned their backs as the Arabs moved in for the kill. and despite those odds, Israel won. and the Arabs and British are still pissed off at this immasculating action. Israel has one thing the Arabs do not - a will to survive, for if Arabs lose they simply feel bad. if Israelis lose, they die!
46. #32 - keep your nose clean and you won't have to worry
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
but the rhetoric coming from your side is becoming more hostile, more racist, and more absolute....all signs that come before Arabs make a dumb move and attack Israel. We have years of precedents set by you and jerks like Nasser. You Egyptians out-numbered us in the past too....and well, you know the outcome. We almost had Cairo if it wasn't for the UN and the US. If you truly honor the peace treaty and do not want war, its best you direct your comments towards your govt and not Israel. They're the ones ramping the rhetoric. We're just a few Ynet posters.
47. #30 - Are you sure you haven't been reading Al-Jazeera?
William ,   Israel   (03.07.11)
Because your description of Lieberman reflects more of what Arabs say about him rather than truth in his political stance. He's never been anti-Arab/anti-Muslim but has called for ALL citizens to share in obligations and rewards. And those who dislike the country enough to support terrorism against it should leave. Maybe that's where you believe he's anti-Arab....they're the only ones who support such sedition in the country but demands all of the rewards.... well, them and a few self-righteous pin heads we call "Leftists", which I'm guessing you are. Sorry bud - Meretz and Labor are history. Time to drown your sorrow in an ecstasy bar in Namal Tel Aviv.

What are you going to do - sit in Tahrir square? Can hardly wait ,Egypt!!! Would love to see you licking your wounds - once again!

Jennie ,   US/Israel   (03.07.11)
Excellent point, Danny ! Even if they keep Sinai, what about the oil refinaries, Israel has developed in Sinai and gave to Egypt on the "silver platter" with Sinai? Did any of them, egyptians ever gave an iota of credit to Israel for that ? And Shouldn't Israel demand at least the right to buy that fuel with a huge discount ?
51. Ethiopia vs Egypt: Nile War
Ethiojegna ,   Addis Ababa Ethiopia   (03.07.11)
It doesn't matter what regime is in power in Cairo. We are destined to go to war. As we have defeated the Egyptians in 1874 at Gundet and Gura. We Ethiopians are prepared for a Nile War. The Mother of all Wars
52. To: Jennie at No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
B'ezrat Ha'Shem, Jennie, you and your family will be able to return to a rebuilt Yamit. Begin (z.l.) did not want to give back the Sinai -- heaven knows we paid a heavy price for it. But it achieved that most important of objectives -- it culled Egypt out of the herd. But I think deep down, all Israelis, and Jews in the Diaspora as well, have always known that the day would come when when we would need to take it back. It would appear that day is upon us.

I know ....
54. To: Chris at No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
Actually, Chris, the only reason that the Sinai was given back was to isolate Egypt from the rest of the Arab world. The Arabs cannot pitch war against Israel without including Egypt. It also gave Israel the opportunity to clean out the rat's nest that was Lebanon in 1982. The Jewish State will never be dismantled. In fact, the reverse is true. Israel is going to grow considerably larger, and there isn't a damn thing that the clown in the White House can do about it.
55. To: Danny at No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
The short answer is "Yes." The peace treaty states with specificity that any violation of the treaty by Egypt results in forfeiture of the Sinai. In practical terms, however, they won't give it up without a fight. So we will have it take it back, and take it back we will.
56. To: Harold at No. 31
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
No country is more adept at fighting a war on multiple fronts than Israel. We've had a considerable amount of experience doing precisely that. In fact, Israel assumes a priori that any war will be fought on several fronts. G-d forbid it should come to that, but Israel is a nuclear power. We can settle the Arabs' hash with the push of a button. Bye-bye advanced rockets and missiles. The Arab world underestimates Israel's resolve very much to its peril. We take existential threats very, very seriously. You'd think by now the Arabs would have figured that out, but perhaps their singular fate is to learn things the hard way. I wouldn't worry too much, Harold. One or another way, Israel is here to stay. The same cannot be said for the enemies arrayed against us. If they get stupid, they will pay a very high price for that stupidity.
57. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
It's not the quantity of soldiers in the fight, dear, but rather the quality of fight in the soldier. Israel has always been outnumbered, but that hasn't prevented us from emerging victorious in each of the six wars started by the Arabs. We have the qualitative edge. We also know that the first war Israel loses is our last war. That's a pretty good motivational factor. Oh, did I forget to mention the nukes?
58. To: No. 32
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.07.11)
Boy, are you ever going to be hung over in the morning! Are you out of your mind? You've got a tin can military. We kicked your ass in 1967, and in 1973, we crossed the Canal and stood poised to march on Cairo. Don't be stupid. The Aswan is a legitimate military objective. And you know what will happen to Egypt if that is destroyed. I have news for you: abrogating the Treaty in any way constitutes a forfeit of the Sinai; that's written into the Treaty. Don't get stupid. Next time, we won't stop at the Canal.

No account to settle with Muslims? Tell that to the Jews of Medina.
60. #11
Jane   (03.07.11)
We have a BIG account to settle with Muslim countries. We were terrorized, tortured, killed and the survivors expelled after living there for thousands of years - without our property and without compensation. You all have a lot to account for. Don't open your big mouths, It is YOU who must account. More than half of Israeli Jews come from Arab countries. Stop with the Europe crap, Yousuf.
