(with apologies to Loretta) REG: Furthermore, it is the birthright of every man-- YARON: Or woman. REG: Why don't you shut up about women, YARON. You're putting us off. YARON: Women have a perfect right to play a part in our movement, Reg. FRANCIS: Why are you always on about women, YARON? YARON: I want to be one. REG: What? YARON: I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me 'DANA'. REG: What?! DANA: It's my right as a man. JUDITH: Well, why do you want to be DANA, YARON? DANA: I want to have babies. REG: You want to have babies?! DANA: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them. REG: But... you can't have babies. DANA: Don't you oppress me. REG: I'm not oppressing you, YARON. You haven't got a womb! -- Where's the fetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?! DANA: [crying] JUDITH: Here! I-- I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the right to have babies. FRANCIS: Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister. Sorry. REG: What's the point? FRANCIS: What? REG: What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?! FRANCIS: It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression. REG: Symbolic of his struggle against reality.
6. Such a cookie cutter song
nero ,   nyc   (03.09.11)
This song is just an utter bore and retread of a million other songs. Not creative at all.
7. #6 ur jealousy is soooo showing!
(03.09.11)
8. So so...
Maurice ,   Montreal   (03.09.11)
This song does not compare at all with her previous winning song Diva. It's a so-so song. It may please to some, while others may find it too simplistic and boring. But her presence and performance may pull it. I wish her and Israel good luck in Germany.
9. you're just a transphobic person.That's a shame
david azoulay ,   maale adoumim   (03.09.11)
10. Good performance
RT   (03.09.11)
I'm uneasy with homos, lesbians, transgenders etc, but I do think that Dana gave a good performance. And I liked her gown too.
11. Nice to see her again!
Antonio ,   Spain   (03.09.11)
Well, although surprised about her sexuality, her song was a crack in 1998. Go on, I wish you win the contest! Mazal tov!
12. I think I speak for most :
Israel   (03.10.11)
The song's a disaster but I love Dana No matter what
13. #5, always look on the bright side of life
Ben ,   USA   (03.10.11)
Four words in two phrases: (1) Uterus transplant (2) Cesarian Section They're on the distant horizon for transsexual women, with recent medical advances. Perhaps in the not-too-distant-future, Loretta from Python's Life of Brian won't have to recourse to making the fetus gestate in a box, and her struggle with reality will become a little less. She'll have a uterus transplant followed a little more than 9 months later by a C-section delivery of a baby. Not without risks, but like all wannabe mothers, she may be desperate enough ... And decades away? Perhaps adult stem cell therapy will enable cultivating opposite-sex organs from one's own DNA? The 21st century may be quite a century for transpeople like Dana International.
14. #12 next time don't be so insecure, speak 4 urself & let the
rest of us do the ,   same!   (03.10.11)
15. If we sign a peace agreement - we'll probably win
Talula ,   Israel   (03.10.11)
It's such a pathetic waste of time that is so clearly political related. But anyway, I wish Dana she'lanu the best of luck - she did it once for us, maybe she can do it again.
16. Why were there 10 singers in the Kdam?
Singer ,   Los Angeles   (03.10.11)
Why didn't they do as in the past and just have Dana sing 4 songs? The contest was obviously set up to have her win (the other 9 songs were absolutely awful). Dana knows what wins at Eurovision. She won in 1998 and her song performed by Boaz Mauda got Israel 9th place in 2008 (best result since 2005). However, after 12 years, her voice is not the same. But who knows? She's popular with the Eurovision voters and I wish her and Israel b'hatzlacha (I'm just not so excited about the song).
