1. Deport Eli Yishai more like it
Avi ,   Israel   (03.09.11)
The dispicable man who has blood on his hands from the Carmel fire, instead of providing adequate funding for our fire services he used his position of trust and responsibility to transfer tax payers money to Shas. Now he turns his talents to child catching, Trust me a 1000 foreign kids are worth more than one Eli Yishai, at least they will grow up to become productive members of society unlike the flocl of parasites from Shas Yishai seems so keen to promote
2. Let them finish the school year - then send them home
Tomer ,   Herzeliyya   (03.09.11)
Their uncles / aunts and grandparents back in their home countries are probably missing them badly
3. I agree with #2
Rachel ,   US   (03.09.11)
Let the kids finish the school year then send them AND their families back home. And send all foreign workers whose visa have expired back home.
4. please stop refering to this as being about deporting kids
zionist forever   (03.09.11)
This issue is and always have been about deporting illegal immigrants. The adults are here illegally they just happen to have children and they have very successfully turned this from an issue about deporting illegal immigrants to deporting children. This started out with a plan to deport 1200 illegals something a responsible government needs to address. Then the parents and their supporters managed to turn this into an issue about children and we started seeing demonstrations with children carrying banners saying please dont let them deport me or I want to serve in the IDF. The Knesset then went on and debated the issue for over a year until the set some parameters on which they would have to qualify to stay. 800 qualified to stay and the remaining 400 would have to go. Now we are ready to start deporting them everybody is up in arms again we want to deport children. Please, please enough with the emotions and put them on the plane. These people are not refugees nobody will kill them when they leave. Their parents were economic migrants who came looking for the good life. They will go home, the children will make new friends and start new lives in their parents country. We don't owe these people homes or jobs and if we don't stop being so welcoming and sympathetic more will come. Israel will be seen as a soft touch. We must be seen as cruel and intolerant if we want to stop Israel becoming a haven for the third world. Be cruel to illegals to be kind to Israelis
5. Cancel deportation completely
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (03.09.11)
Those who were born here should receive automatic citizenship. Those who were not born here should be allowed to stay at least until age 21.
6. immigration laws
Emma ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.09.11)
Someone should tell "Israeli Children" that we do have immigration laws, it's their problem if they don't like the laws and the people they support have broken these laws. No law will ever let illegal migrants have children and be given citizenship. I can't believe we are even debating this.
7. Deport or don't deport. Stop dragging it out.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (03.09.11)
Obviously, the fate of "the children" is the most emotionally provocative (which is why they are always front and center), but they comprise only a small portion of those who need to find another home. But the longer this drags out, the more Israel's name is dragged through the mud. Every time there's yet another delay, the issue and the protests are back in the news. So make a final decision - either they'll be allowed to stay or they'll be deported with their parents because *they* are the illegals - and carry it out.
8. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.09.11)
Sure, why not -- are you willing to pick up the tab? Are you able to look an elderly, fixed-income Israeli -- who helped build the country and now is forced to eat cat food to survive -- in the eye and tell him that you think that illegal aliens who overstay their work permits and their visas and give birth to numerous children while in Israel are far more important than he is? Are you prepared to tell an elderly pensioner living in South Tel Aviv that he must live with being afraid to go out alone for fear of being mugged, or worse, by so-called "refugees" from Africa whose endless social issues and medical problems drain resources that rightfully belong to Israeli elderly and Israeli infirm? Can you do that, Mike? If you can, you have no soul.
9. The children
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.09.11)
Stop blaming Israel for the chaotic lives these children lead. Put the blame where it rightfully belongs: on their extraordinarily selfish parents.
10. The real issue is profiteering by haredi employment firms
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.09.11)
Eli Yishai is just another two-faced politician. The real issue is why there are so many foreign workers in Israel in the first place. The answer, of course, is the endemic government and business corruption that curses us all. -employers don't want to pay minimum wage. They also don't want to pay taxes. They also don't want to follow labor laws. -the employers turn to agencies who bring in cheap foreign workers by the thousands and tens of thousands. many of these firms are owned by haredim and Shas supporters. -the employment agencies and other employers cry poverty, and claim that no Israelis will do the work. Of course not, since the employers break the laws and won't pay minimum wage, let alone the benefits required by law. -the companies cry to Yishai and other corrupt MKs who pass laws allowing agencies to flood Israeli with tens of thousands of Romanian, Chinese, Turkish, Thai and other workers. Yishai rubberstamps the influx of foreign workers. Then, when the profits have bee made and they want to get rid of the foreign workers, well, they simply deport them. The solution? Force employers in Israel to obey the law. Cancel the laws brought in to give employment agencies huge profits for hiring out foreign workers at below minimum wage. And lastly, yea, fire Yishai too.
11. To #10 - I don't get it
Wolfman Jack   (03.10.11)
You write: "many of these firms are owned by haredim and Shas supporters." I thought haredim don't work. Make up your mind.
12. Deport Now!
Eli ,   Israel   (05.08.11)
I expect and demand my country to enforce the Law. I don't want illegal immigrants populating my country that I fought defending for a Jewish Homeland. Eli is right, these kids are illegal and so are the parents. They need to kindly go back home. For those liberal Jews who don't like it all I can say is that New York is waiting for you, you wont be missed.
