4. Sigh !

This is more "materials connection" for the Philippines with Israelis. If there are no jobs to offer to the philippines, there wont any recognition such as this. If they in Arabs countries they will do the similar things. It is not a genuine relationship after all, but only gimmicks for the sake of money politic? May be.
5. Heroism

It is important to remember and honor real heroism like this.Unlike a Richard Goldstone who circles the globe attacking Israel and its supporters, President Quezon was a real hero.
6. saying thank you is not enough
ATIN-ATINLANG ,   PHILIPPINES   (03.25.11)
From this humanitarian gesture that filipino people did to the European Jews, offering help and welcoming you as brothers and help your country to become an state of Israel...offering 10,000 visas with opportunity to work , with free farmland given to Jews and helping them to build their own temple in Philippines. I THINK SAYING THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH, why the government of ISRAEL SPARE FILIPINO CHILDREN FROM DEPORTATION, how many are they? Becoming your nation with the help of the votes of the Filipino is that good enough? Considering that we Filipinos are working very good woth your elders, parents, cleaning mommys very well on their part time, showing good effort, good sacrifices and showing love in every work we did for the benefits of your people..Is'nt it that is worth enough to give us merits and our out cry to spare us on this issue the deportation is also possible..THINK ABOUT IT OUR DEAR JEWS!!!AMEN
7. Thanking the Almighty for all good things is Judaism

I am very happy to read about a connection between Rabbi Alexander Linchner's Boys' Town in Jerusalem and the appreciation some Jews have for the Phillipine people for saving many European Jews from certain death before World War II. When I was 14 years old I saw Rabbi Linchner every day at Yeshivah Torah Vodath in Brooklyn. His brother-law, Rabbi Samual Quinn, was my permanent Shabbath host and I had many informative discussions with him walking back from the yesivah to his flat on Taylor Strreet. I was so profoundly affected by him and other very dedicated Jewish individuals that I have tried to emulate these people in some small measure by my live long involvement with various Jewish communities. It was a form of appreciation. Rabbis Linchner and Quinn were outstanding role models. In the case of the Philppines, most Jews did not know about the kindness of that government before World War II. I did not know about it until I read this article. I wish I had have known.
