yair   (03.17.11)
Was it worth it? You gave someone a high school beat down and now instead of seeing a story about settler medics saving an arab baby's life, they have to see this.
3. What Arab workers do in Shilo in the first place?
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (03.17.11)
4. Indiscriminate violence?
noa ,   israel   (03.17.11)
Revenge on who? These two workers are not the Palestinian who murdered the family.
5. Oh well.....

6. @Ariel Ben Yochanan
Patrick ,   Beer Sheba   (03.17.11)
Two reasons: 1. Israelis cannot be bothered to perform manual labor, with part of the reason being...(see 2) 2. Israeli contractors want to continue to pay unrealistic, chicken-scratch wages for their laborers. And the government continues to support this unsustainable arrangement, showing its shortsightedness by importing workers from abroad. Who had the audacity (gasp!) to have babies!!! Now we've got fat-cat contractors underpaying desperate foreign (and Palestinian) laborers who are having babies who are becoming an integral part of the Israeli landscape. I personally have nothing against foreign laborers, but I detest the exploitation of laborers who, by virtue of their origins in poorer countries, are supposed to be thankful for the low wages they earn here. Of course no Israeli in his right mind will take such a job. Now, wouldn't it have been so much easier to pay realistic wages from the get-go?
7. Note the difference
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.17.11)
They were beaten and survived, Five Jews were stabbed to death and were buried as a result
8. # 4 None of the Palestinians murdered the Itimar family

11. Hey, Guys....
Edwin ,   Canada   (03.17.11)
...I have vigorously defended Israel all over the world ever since the 1960's and could always point to the moral non-equivalency between the Jews and Arabs. But lately, there have been cracks appearing in my arguments.
12. To Patrick #6 and NAder #8
Tamar ,   Israel   (03.17.11)
Patrick - It's not even that the Israeli contractors don't want to pay their workers, it's that people building their houses in settlements are not willing to pay Jewish prices for their houses. It's disgusting. There are plenty of Jewish workers who are willing to work construction. I know - my husband is one of them. Nader - Itamar doesn't allow foreign workers, so could you tell me how it's possible that a foreign worker could have done it? Your press is very good at fabricating lies. Check it out for yourself.
13. That was inevitable - I understand their need
Talula ,   Israel   (03.17.11)
to do what they are doing - but there are other ways.
14. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz........
Golan ,   Modiin   (03.17.11)
Wake me up when something serious happens like when someone builds an outhouse on a hilltop. Because after all the rockets, bombings and shootings the Arabs perpetrate on Jews, construction is the real problem. oooooh you think a Jew beat up an Arabs in retaliation for attempted murders and the massacre of a Jewish family by Arabs. Well that is a crime against humanity! Were the Arabs kids? Where their heads sawn off? No? Ok then THOSE pictures you can show.
15. #11 you got to be kidding
Golan ,   Modiin   (03.17.11)
16. #2 the taste of Champagne
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.17.11)
6 men nobody knows, come out of nowhere to give a "high school" beating to two innocents and then disappear without a trace. The Jews are delegtimized and the press forgets about the Itamar massacre. Who has the wherewithal and motivation to organize such an attack? Look no further than the Defense Ministry.
17. Unacceptable.
Ilan ,   Ariel   (03.17.11)
The majority who want co-existence will have to deal with their lunatics. Thank God we don't have Israelis attacking children, but the entire price tag policy is based on reacting like a rabid dog and behaving like a human being.
18. blood libel? against whom?
observer ,   Egypt   (03.17.11)
The terrorists first ran into a house that was bereft of its inhabitants at that moment. They decided to proceed to the next house of the Fogel family. How could this terrorist act take place in a Jewish settlement that seemed to have been so well protected? Itamar is protected by an electric fence that sets off an alarm even if the shrubs move. It is patrolled by defense ministry civil guards who replaced the IDF but who were trained by the IDF previous to taking this post. The procedure during the night of the massacre was fully followed. The town is equipped with gates, fences, lighting, cameras, security, vehicles and more. Alarm was set off by the fact that the fence was not touched, but as the Itamar security guards did not find a break in the fence — it APPARENTLY had been jumped. So the terrorists in the return trip either used the "Jump" with its all risks of being caught inside if failure of "jump" occur OR use guard uniform, ID badge and fluent Hebrew to walk through Settlement gate; that is impossible. Considering that TWO houses were broken in, who knows blind spots of the cameras except within enemy. Most terrifying than the abominable act is thinking that the terrorists could be from within. Man hunt INSIDE settlement seemed to bring more terror and anger to settlers especially when that stirs Itamar fervent settlers' religious fear from this "WITHIN enemy". So, they sufficed themselves with the OUTSIDE hunt. why haven't the IDF yet caught the murderer(s)? this the most probable scenario, but you hate what you fear from.
19. #8 Nader - Easy to say, now PROVE IT
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.17.11)
Your source was ?? Don't be bashful, let us know where you got your information from
20. My Darlin Salma ,where are you?
Fadi   (03.17.11)
I did three things today; miss you, miss you, and miss you. hope you and your family are in good health and doing well
21. revenge against random arabs
(03.17.11)
taht is not the way. Know how to defend yourselves yes. If you want to help the idf uncover the killers, fine. Beating arabs who are unconnected has no merit. If you can uncover the killers and their accomplices and there may be more than a few, that is another story.
22. leaflet that lacked authenticity can't be Al-Aqsa Brigades
observer ,   Egypt   (03.17.11)
that's not a perfect way to rule out Shabak which issued the leaflet and handed it out to reporters. You Know, Israel has Never denounced and has never demanded PA's denunciation's over Itamar massacre, why? because Israel fears from speaking the truth or becauseIsrael reserves the right of revenge for itself.
23. #4 is that permitted on pass over?
observer ,   Egypt   (03.17.11)
24. Unacceptable. Palestinians must take action.
Brian ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.17.11)
Yes, this is unacceptable behavior by Israelis. If the Palestinians actually tried to arrest the perps, then actually put them on trial, then actually convicted some of these murderers and actually locked them up, then I wouldn't have a beef with them. But, Salma will confirm this, the Palestinians do not arrest their own who have carried out terror attacks. There are many cases of Israelis who are sitting in jail for having attacked and even murdered Palestinians - there are NO Palestinians in Palestinian jails for having murdered Israelis. None. Look at the terrorism statistics and ask yourself where the human rights atrocity is and the answer is very clear - the Palestinian Authority is the problem for encouraging and even rewarding the murder of Israeli civilians.
25. #19 BEN JABO
Somebody ,   Palestine   (03.17.11)
I am a Palestinian and I wish to see whoever committed the crime last week get cought and punished. The question you should ask: who did it, and why we all do not know yet? You cannot just assume it is a Palestinian. And you you should know that 99% of Palestinians did condemn that crime. if you ask about the 1% they are the lunatics that you can find in any country.

29. due to lack of formal constitution protecting minoritie
observer ,   Egypt   (03.17.11)
The State of Israel was supposed to adopt a formal written constitution a few months after its declaration of independence on 14 May 1948. The declaration itself states that a constitution should be formulated and adopted no later than 1 October 1948. Adoption of a democratic constitution was also a demand of the General Assembly Resolution 181, which proposed the establishment of a "Jewish state". The State of Israel failed to adopt a formal constitution. While the deadline stated in the declaration of independence proved unrealistic in light of the war which went on between the new state and its neighboring countries, general elections were arranged on 25 January 1949, in order to elect the Constituent Assembly which would approve the new state's constitution. The Constituent Assembly convened on 16 February 1949. It held several discussions about the constitution which soon reached a dead end. Israelis say we did it without a constitution and it worked. How did they know it worked?
30. maybe it was Thai workers
moish ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.17.11)
