The amount released from the first explosion was measured at 400 millisieverts (a little bit less than what was released at Chernobyl); the second explosion is far more extensive, and the spent fuel rods that were damaged are continuing to release huge amounts of radiation which is now headed for Hawaii and, eventually, the west coast of the United States. No one is publishing numbers for that one; they don't want to create a panic. And the Japanese are downplaying both the risk and the degree of exposure.
