So it would appear that all the legal squirming, all the "protectsia" and all the "combinot" were not enough to keep the truth from surfacing. Mr. katsav, you have stained and disgraced us all - thank God we have a judicial system which has come to the rescue of both your victims and to our national integrity.
3. A few unanswered questions remain...

What happened to "A" was when Katsav was Tourist Minister...why didn't she complain as soon as he was not "her boss" anymore ? why did she not complain when she was abroad ? Why did she come back and asked Katsav for a job if she knew that he raped her ?.....Would anybody go back to the rapist to ask for more ?.......the women just lied.

If 'A' needs to rebuild her life after Katsav, she will need to leave Israel (if she hasn't done it yet) for good. That's expensive and she would probably welcome a higher compensation from the court. On the other hand, four years would be perceived too too short by most of the public, especially since Katsav will only serve about half of the time in prison because of good behavior. Who said judges know what to do, or that they are smart? They carry a lot of prestige, but really are not smarter than the average citizen. The right way to adjudicate fairly is by a jury trial, like here in the U.S.. Then twelve people who are just as average as this judge would bring more intelligence to the verdict. An argument against jury is that a common citizen is not an "expert." Well, this judge Shevach is not an expert either.

Can it be that his lawyers did not ask these very logical questions?

if you believe the plaintiff was guilty enough to serve 4 years, in my opinion, 7 is not enough. Rape is rape. It's true, the media and Mazuz may have already passed judgement. But to say the courts based their judgments on what the media said and what Mazuz leaked out is to belittle the seriousness of the courts.
