1. Of course it is
Rachel ,   US   (03.28.11)
You have a PM who is afraid of his own shadow and a DM who is nothing short of a disaster.
2. Israels response to pure aggression
DT ,   TA Israel   (03.28.11)
is as shameful and weak as the PM . No chance of PM ever doing anything on Iran - it demands a decision and strength
4. Leaders assessment: World opinion is more valuable
EZ ,   US   (03.28.11)
than the Israeli population. They pobably foolishly believe they can "spin"' their "soft" response in the future to make them look like they tried to avoid escalation, blah, blah, blah. They're wrong, again. The conscious, subconscious, spiritual and material reality the Palestinians have created for themselves will ultimately manifest as their complete demise, there should be no doubt about it. Tyranny NEVER wins, ESPECIALLY when the tyrants rationalize that using murderous violence against innocent people intentionally (as is the Palestinian way) is appropriate. The snake must always come out to feed and the owl, hawk or eagle will ultimately arrive to destroy it. The palis will meet their end by their own hands. Even the Syrians are now "blaming" the pals for the violence there...as are the Jordinians. And with Hezbollah offering help to the rebels in Barhain, you know Syria and Jordan are 100% accurate in NOT trusting the pals. All of this ads up to the reason for refugee camps in these countries and why they aren't allowed in certain positions: the unspoken truth: no one in the entire ME trusts the "Palestinians". No one knows who they really are, what "tribe"'they belong to or why they alway caused trouble every place they've gone. They may be of "political interest" to the Arabs and Muslims but here in the US, the Arabs speak very lowly of them: in ways that are unmentionable on a talk-back. The proof is in the pudding: ain't no One talking about the pals cause anymore! Oh how quickly they forgot their "brethren". The truth is sure a bummer for the "Palestinian cause".
5. Not surprised...
Lobo ,   USA/Israel   (03.28.11)
Bibi cares too much about what the world thinks and less about his own people. People across Israel have woken up. When will their leaders do the same?
6. barak is too soft
alexi   (03.28.11)
barak is restricting idf response and is soft because 1) he is afraid like he was in cast lead of major operations 2) he does not believe severe retaliation will do anygood. Regardless, since 1999, he has been awol, paralysed letting terror take hold without proper response. haaretz and some in ynet protect him as he is one of the few olsos left. Its not that barak doesn't know what to do on paper. He is simply afraid of casualties, afraid of launching war. This explains why there were questions about his conduct at chinese farm in 73, and sultan yacoob in lebanon in 82 and questions about his conduct during a training accident and his paralysis during cast lead when he tried to cut it off early. Lastly his paintball orders on the marmora led to commandos being severely injured and needlessly. We don't like to admit but this general is not able any more and should be asked to leave. Vilnai, yaalon and galant would be far better.
7. So Rachel #1
Li ,   USA   (03.28.11)
If they made you PM/FM then you would launch a major attack. And then several days or weeks later you would say "Okay, now I understand why that was not a smart move".
8. No matter what
Seth R ,   Boston, Mass, USA   (03.28.11)
No matter what Israel does, the world will condemn them. Therefore, forget what the EU, UN says and go ahead and finish what Hamas has started. There is NO WAY the already ridiculous "2 state solution" can ever work as long as Hamas is in existence. Go into Gaza and do not stop until every last one of those cowards are dead and burning in hell!!!!!!!!! Screw world opinion!
9. Unless you're ready to admit who actually calls the shots
Marcella   (03.28.11)
Israelis will continue to be in a state of bafflement at the pusillanimous government attitude at continuous attacks against Israeli citizens. And the most baffling thing of all is to watch how government response to terror is - of all things - further commitment to create another Gaza in what are now beautiful Jewish communities in the heartland. All we read about is defensive measures, and barely defensive at that. Never a plan to raise Israel to the status of a nation strong, proud and dignified, taking no abuse or violence from anyone. The government needs to reflect the interests of the Jews of Israel, something that does not seem to be happening at the moment.
10. scrap iron dome and go on the offensive
zionist forever   (03.28.11)
The Iron Dome interceptors cost around $100,000 each. There have been about twenty rockets fired over the past week and if we were going to shoot down each of them then it would cost $2 million. Between the 2005 Gaza pull out - Cast Lead in 2008 over 5000 rockets. If we had Iron Dome at that time and shot down all of them with Iron Dome it would have cost $500 million in interceptors alone ( enough for a squadron of F16s ) We need to stop relying on expensive white elephants like Iron Dome and instead go on the offensive. Cast Lead was heading towards a victory and Hamas being put out of action for a long time because the IDF were performing a textbook operation. The only problem was it came in the middle of an election campaign. Everybodies campaigns were on hold as the operation was carried out. Only problem was Likud were way out front in all the polls and the women who wants to be the next PM Livni pushed Olmert into declaring a unilateral ceasefire so the operation could be wound up and she could get on with her campaign. Result is the IDF wanted an extra week to complete their objectives but we pulled out made no conditions despite the fact we were well positioned to dicate terms of a ceasefire if we had finished the job we set out to do. Instead of a victory it was another loss and we looked like we had been chased out because we offered the unconditional ceasefire. Now we need to finish off what we began in 2008 and smash Hamas, its a much better investment than Iron Dome which we should not waste our money on. Better to sell the entire Iron Dome system to somebody else now rather than start wasting money using it to shoot down $10 rockets.
11. the booboo must go
Max   (03.28.11)
he is a spineless pussy not to mention serial deliberate war loser Ehud "loser" Barak, what a bunch of clowns, as bad as 'orrible Olmert and the Tsipimonster
12. what a gutless,spineless,cowardly regime
chaim.s ,   54th st.brooklyn ny   (03.28.11)
instead of doing, what every normal country would do if attacked daily by rockets,,wipe-off the enemy from the face of the earth, this leftist, spineless self hating , jew hating, regime will turn all of Israel, into an old fashioned jewish GHETTO,hiding behind Hussein Obama's skirt, ala some cockemeimi dome shield, what a shamefull disgusting spectacle, this is. citizens of Israel please, please, vomit out this leftist cowardly, jew hating, arab loving regime,or else you will lose your g-d given country, and your lives
13. Netanyahu works for anyone but Israel
Steven ,   San Francisco   (03.28.11)
His primary concern is "world opinion" and the people of Israel better get used to it. Mr. Netanyahu will decide when to deal with these rockets, but now is not the time, he's busy elsewhere.
14. No One Respects a Coward
George Patton, ,   West Point USA   (03.28.11)
A cowardly response begets even worse punishment than was first give out. War= Kill the enemy, break his things. Continue to do so until he looses the will to fight. All Israel suffers from the Stockholm Syndrome.
15. Stating the Obvious
Ron ,   OC, US   (03.28.11)
The minimal response to rocket fire sinse the days of Olmert have been a failure and did little more than encourage more terror and more rocket fire. Cutting off supplies and letting the IAF hit every ecomomic target available will put an end to the terror. The IAF should by all accounts do as much to hamas as the US and EU is doing to Libya.
16. differerent political circumstances
eddie ,   london Uk   (03.28.11)
a cast lead operation is not appropriate right now - a) The palis wish to take some heat off syria, by drawing israel into a conflict b) Israel is now seen as the only stable democracy in the region. This kind of operation might spark another war,and the arabs willunite and forget about their own revolutions... c) a better approach is targeted assassinations of terror leaders, with minimal civilian losses
17. One day Everything shall be revealed to the People of Zion:
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.28.11)
that'll be the day the Moshyiah comes. But until then, the actions of our govt. shall remain seemingly stupid, devoid of any thought, careless &spineless, outright criminal and deplorable! Pity I personally don't buy into Moshyiah-myth....
18. It is time to send these two half men
jason white ,   afula, israel   (03.28.11)
back home. We need to get rid of bibi and barak. We should have responded with a heavy artillery barrage on gaza. Hit their civilians and take out their infrastructure. Kill all the leaders of ham-ass and the other terror groups. One peep out of the p.a.against our hitting gaza and their leaders should be terminated.
19. A "measured response" ensures many more rockets & mortars
Cameron ,   USA   (03.28.11)
These are fanatics in the purest sense. When you start dropping the leadership, then they'll get spooked and quiet.
20. Cowardly
Joe ,   USA   (03.28.11)
Bibi looks yellow, he must have jaundice.
21. Needed: A New PM and DM
Dan ,   USA   (03.28.11)
Why are the Israeli voters so afraid of electing a PM that really puts Israel first, even if it means being very tough on those who oppose the existance of Israel. As bad as your PM is your DM is worse. Both should be replaced by leaders who love Israel more than they love their place in history.
22. More Fortification Will Bring More Rockets
AC Cgaud ,   USA   (03.28.11)
What is needed is an aggressive attack on those who launch the rockets. Attack, attack, attack and not just on empty buildings and fields. By this time in his life Bibi should have figured this out.
23. Don't You Wish Bibi's Hero Brother Was PM
Dan ,   USA   (03.28.11)
24. Not only IDF officers!
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (03.28.11)
The people of Israel completely agree with that, it's just our PM, each day more detached from his voters and closer to Barak. They will share their end in next elections, none of them will stay!
25. The real solution
Sammy ,   Israel   (03.28.11)
The only real solution is to put the soldiers on the border between Gaza and Sinai and then conduct an operation in Gaza to search for and confiscate the weapons. They can conduct any mission in the future but if the border is completely in their hands, we will never be able to combat the smuggling of the weapons into Gaza. That's it.
26. Was there a response??
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (03.28.11)
27. TO SOFT - ?
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (03.28.11)
IT IS OBAMA WHO RULES ISRAELS RESPONSES, THROUGH HIS PUPPETS, THE ISRAELI PM. IS NOT THIS WERY OBVIOUS ?. THIS CURRENT ISRAELI GOVERNMENTS LACK OF ACTION, WILL DIVIDE THE WHOLE OF ISRAEL MORE AND MORE. THIS ISRAELI GOVERNMENT GOES FROM CRISIS TO CRISIS, BECAUSE OF THEIR TAILING OF OBAMA. GOD BEVERE !. Orao.Srbia.
28. Goldstone has won!
Lenny ,   Jerusualem   (03.28.11)
He has tied Israel's hands behind it's back to the extent that we are afraid to defend ourselves. He will go down in History as nothing short of Amalek!
29. I'm sure the "IDF" will tan our hides when it's convenient .
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.28.11)
30. Why did rockets suddenly stop falling? Hamas running scared.
