I understand what you mean by USA courts dont like Libel cases. However, this case is diffrent. This is a case where Goldstone the JUDGE writes a Negative Report against a State of Israel claiming Israel targeted Civilians Thats alot of wieght to say against people...That dosent make people internationally feel good...I say its damaging...That doesnt make people feel good about the State of Israel...It sheds a very bad light. What about all the Countries that stopped trade with Israel because of this report?? Many countries were influenced by the Goldstone Report. If it raises awareness of the distortion of the report then it is worthwhile. Goldstone must have known he was opening a can of worms by writing that article. I think he needs to be given some credit for his honesty.

If he indeed has a claim against Goldstein, he didn't need to wait for his retraction to file the suit. On the other hand, if he is building his argument on the retraction, Goldstein can retract the retraction ...

The problem was that he did not do any fact finding at all. He based most of his work on heresay from people with less than reputable reputations. Even organizations such as Betzalem and Amnesty sprout stuff without checking their validity. But the world will always turn a blind eye. Instead of speculating, people need to see what is actually filed. You do not know what the exact suit will be. He has to serve Goldstone and there is a matter of jurisdiction, etc...

Any court of law would have disqualified his panel right from the start for partiality. Goldstone will now be subjected to a death of a thousand cuts by civil lawsuits in the US and Israel and while the UN will protect him financially, he will find it unpleasant. Yishai and shas should not be in any responsible position as they have no grip on reality- yishai lunged to beg goldstone and then misinterpreted what he said and goldstone is usually very careful with his language. Yishai upset the israeli government strategy and has shown himself to be like olmert, a rank amateur. Goldstone should work to empty his report of its significance as his UN associates continue to insist on their report. Some of the statements in there would be highlighted again including from witnesses, quotes from Israeli officials will be repeated and some were horrible, European doctors would be quoted.... From a certain stand point, one could make the claim that war crimes occurred.
