1. Shame!!!!
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (04.11.11)
Tel Aviv is ruled by lousy people, their pride is being gay and there shame is being Israeli, really, they should think about creating the State of Tel Aviv and be happy. The rest of Israel will also be happy!
2. But wait, isnt a pride parade all about... Pride? Acceptance?
Tahl   (04.11.11)
So let me get this straight (no pun intended) - the Israelis who intend to participate in this pride parade are proud to show their gayness, but ashamed or afraid to show their Israeliness? And I thought a pride parade is all about being proud and not afraid to say what you are and who you are! Well, silly me. If this is the mindset of these Israeli gays, I urge them to stay in Berlin for good. I'm sure the Germans would love them, as long as they downplay their Israeli/Jewish identity... Worked out well at the time... P.S. a rather wimpy and cowardly response by the Tourism Ministry as well.
3. tel aviv in berlin
daniel mostrel ,   paris tel aviv   (04.11.11)
so tel aviv is a city from nowhere ? crazy i was so proud of tel aviv , israel
4. I will go with Israel flag
Gay Ray ,   Tal Aviv   (04.11.11)
There is not way they can make me let my Israeli-gay-start of David flag in thehotel room. In the gay comunity is a proud to be israeli, we have rigths that almost no body have in other countrys in the world. I WILL GO AHEAD AND BRING MY START DAVID GAY FLAG
5. Despicable decision!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (04.11.11)
If israelis themselves are not proud of their country why should foreigners approve of Israel? This is the wrong way to go about this. Israeli gays should be proud of their fabulous country and should not hide it under all kind of cowardly "brand names".
6. It is a shame , not to be able to show an Israeli flag.
Ali ,   Scotland   (04.11.11)
The shame is that the star is also a symbol of oppression and occupation so me must feel sorry for good Israelis that are against these things.
7. Shame on you!!!!
tiki ,   belgium   (04.11.11)
I think that Israel is the ONLY country in the world that does 'volontary self screening. If you selfscreen yourself away that means you're not there and worth to be noticed. Afraid of 'hurting the gent(i)le eyes of the Europeans??? Israel 'should be there, in 'their own name and with their 'National pride...their FLAG and not 'hide away behind all kind of nonsense. Arab Dictatorships, a Palestinian entity, African ministates don't have any 'problem showing who they are. Its the Getto mentality of the Jew again! If Israel doesn't respect itself enough to show who they are under there own name, being PROUD of their country and ALL it's achievements, than they realy shouldn' be there but stay at home and stop wondering why countries 'trample on her. If you don't respect yourself, nobody will.
8. Bring tourists to Israel-all those going
Iris ,   USA   (04.11.11)
to Tel Aviv probably will visit Jerusalem, museums, cultural events & other areas and return to their home lands with wonderful reports about Israel and its people. It is great PR and helps the nation in many ways
9. Will Lieberman Get Behind This Effort To Show The Flag?
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (04.11.11)
10. very poor decision; meanwhile near the President's residence
hetero granny ,   Jerusalem   (04.11.11)
here in Jerusalem there is an apartment that proudly flies its gay flag year round! Good for them and good for the neighbors who have calmly accepted that young couple's openess!
11. ridiculous! So we send Donna International 2 Eurovision....
moi ,   ici   (04.11.11)
and she proudly carries the Israeli flag for ALL of us But we can't send the Israeli Flag to the gay parade in Berlin?! What's that about?
12. Iranian gay
Bahram ,   Paris, France   (04.11.11)
I m an iranian gay living in Paris, my boyfriend is jew. I've got family in Bersheeva (my cousin married with an iranian jew and they are living there) I want to visit Israel specially Tel Aviv but i don't want 6 hours questioning when i'm arriving and when i'm living Israel. Even if i've got French passport my name and my place of birth is in Iran so i will have special wellcome !
13. shame on israel
deutronomy 28 ,   world   (04.11.11)
israel should show its true gayself come on, what is this? the world should know israel is gay...LOL
14. You deserve it
Arik A ,   Jerusalem area, IL   (04.11.11)
So Tel Avivians you dream to be like the Europeans who murdered 6 million Jews only 60 years ago? You are even choosing their deparavity in order to be like them and today they refuse to put the Jewish flag on your city....you see the reward.... Give up the abomination and go back to your roots instead of imitating the Goyim who hate your guts.
15. Question ...
sk ,   USA   (04.11.11)
How is Israel going to receive God's blessings and protection if it keeps flaunting the one thing God despises most ... homosexuality? Does not the lesson in the destruction of the cities of the Plains (Sodom and Gommorah) mean anything??
16. open your eyes
garga ,   tel aviv   (04.11.11)
Is tel aviv an indipendent state? I would say no. This means that if tel aviv is so open, liberal and welcoming it's because it's part of a state that allows pluralism, democracy and freedom. Don't forget that there coudn't be a tel aviv in saudi arabia or iran.
17. Shame on your decision!
Ilana   (04.11.11)
Where is your pride???
18. Go GAY RAY!!!!
Ilana   (04.11.11)
19. Shame on these people!
Carrie ,   New York, NY   (04.11.11)
How dare they go to Berlin, where the mass murder or millions of Jews was planned and implemented, and refuse to fly the Israeli Flag. These people are a disgrace to Jews everywhere and to the memory of the 6 million who were murdered.
20. Baruch HaShem, maybe no-one will know
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (04.11.11)
It's better not to fly the Israeli flag over such a display of unnatural behavior.
21. Between people and God,not the governments business
nolan moshe goldfain ,   Modiin Israel   (04.11.11)
God is good and i think He is happy that people dont judge each other and thats what i liked about living in tel aviv, that no one judges. But i feel that the government should not act in this way. They shouldn't encourage people to go against the Torah. What people do behind closed doors is between them and God.
22. To Gay Ray
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (04.11.11)
Was that Star of David or "Start with David"? lol... enjoy! Good for you to take the magen david flag.
23. #12 - don't feel bad, I also get hard questioning
William ,   Israel   (04.11.11)
and I'm Anglo.
24. #13 - yes, Israel accepts everyone for who they are...
William ,   Israel   (04.11.11)
a true sign of humanity. Everyone is welcome - as long as they leave their racism and violence at home...sadly, some groups can't seem to do that (even against gays).
25. #6 - the crescent has killed more people in history
William ,   Israel   (04.11.11)
conversely, the Star of David has saved a great deal of people until now.
26. waht is wrong with you all on here why are you not
(04.11.11)
