1. More UN hypocrisy
Frank ,   Canada   (04.12.11)
UN claimed for decades that it was supporting the land for peace and know they want to create a terror state.
2. The U.N. says (simon says)
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (04.12.11)
"The Palestinian Authority is now largely ready to govern a state, the office of the United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East peace process said in a report on Tuesday." How can the PA be ready to govern a state when it can't control the people; for instance, those that are trigger itchy on the missile buttons? When Gaza and the West Bank trade all their weapons for economic development, then I'll believe they are ready for statehood. Take responsibility for something besides destruction and killing.
3. PA ready - provided they get billions in annual aide
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (04.12.11)
What a joke - they have next to no economy as they are 90%+ dependent on foreign donations. They have spent no time building infrastructure for jobs, for industry, etc. So if they declare in Sept. and are cut off from funds they will have to close the doors in November.
4. is Gaza not a part of their future state?
huh   (04.12.11)
There's chaos going on in Gaza in terms of governing, what the hell r they talking about?
5. credit where credit is due
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.12.11)
The credit for preparing the Palestinian Authority all goes to Netanyahu. While pretending to be a Zionist, he laid the ground for the Arab state and the next war where it is not certain that Israel will survive.
6. I can't stop laughing + ynet has a great sense of humor
☺☺☺☺☺   (04.12.11)
Chaim (Jumese) Oron and Amram (la la land) Mitzna are part of the palestinian cabinet? Too hilarious, but of course in a way they are... This farce is getting more and more ludicrous. So the Um Shum wrote a report to suit their fantasy world? Oh that's so cute, aren't they darlings.
7. Wow if the UN says it's so, it must be true
Yonee   (04.12.11)
After all, is the UN ever wrong about anything?
8. not one inch
real vision ,   usa   (04.12.11)
The palestinians have proven that they are not fit to govern one inch of land anywhere. Let them recognize Israel as a jewish nation with minorities as a first step. The palestinians cannot get along with themselves never mind a neighbor whether they be jordanian Lebanese, syrian, israel or egypt. And if gaza is to be included in the great palestinian nation, exactly who will be the govt there. Put your shoes on your right feet before you start the state hood walk
9. Pa ready to
Yaniv ,   Uk   (04.12.11)
The only thing the PA is ready for is to steal more money from it's people. The UN is so corrupt.
10. Tell that to the Fogel family!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (04.12.11)
Oh hold on....you cant....people from Fatah killed them!
11. govern
greg ,   usa   (04.12.11)
if Egypt, Syria, Baharain, Yemen, and Jordan, cant gover, how in the world do you think these clowns will be able to contol or govern? who are you kidding?
12. Great! Now They Can Rule Jordan
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (04.12.11)
While they can have. It's that or nothing.
13. Just like when Israel was born there is going to be alot of
Abdalla ,   USA   (04.12.11)
Kicking and screaming when Palestine is born but it going to be Israel not the Arabs
14. Don't blame the U.N.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (04.12.11)
If you want to blame anyone, blame our own collection of nitwit politicians. WE made this possible. Our politicians have done almost everything wrong for 40 years. After the Six Day War in 1967, the idiots in charge turned victory into defeat by not immediately annexing everything we won during the war & expelling the Arabs. Then, we did Oslo. And, guess what? A lot of the same nitwits are still in politics because we don't have the sense to throw them out. Now, we're going to get screwed because we let idiots govern us.
15. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.12.11)
I guess all you have to do now is figure out where you're going to put it, because Judea and Samaria are going to be annexed and its Arab residents repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Of course, if you wish, you can go to war over the issue just like you did in 1947 .... and lose even more land. Lots more land ....
16. #6 I noticed the photo too, but...
Cynic #2   (04.12.11)
this may be a Freudian slip. Looking on the bright side this just might be how the future should be. I would not call it a Palestinian cabinet though, but a good amicable name can be found. The photo is a very good example of how real peace and tolerance can be obtained. One state for all its citizens and cultural backgrounds, ba izrat Hashem. I suppose one can eat hummous and gefilt fish from the same table.
17. No surprise from the UN
Aharon   (04.12.11)
This isn't a surprise from the UN. As an organization that can't run itself and doesn't do much, it's no surprise that they recognize that a state is ready when it can't run itself or do much economically.
18. THE IDIOTIC UN
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.12.11)
How did the UN came to that conclusion? That would be interesting to know? Here is what we do know for a fact: 1) Hamas and Fatah are in a Civil War. 2) Hamas itself has a rift in their leadership and are fighting about who is in charge. Just Two days ago. 3) Hamas accused Abbas of refusing to meet with their leadership in Turkey just One Week ago 4) Hamas has stated repeatedly that would NOT honor any agreement made by the PA or Fatah. 5) The Arab League has indicated the biggest obstacle to peace is the Arabs do NOT have a unified leadership government to approach Israel with, and even make a deal. So how bizarre is it that now the UN says the Arabs and the PA are ready to run a government? What fantasy land to they live in?
19. #13 i agree, what goes around comes around LOL
deutronomy 28 ,   world   (04.12.11)
they can kick and scream all they want, the UN recognizing a palestinian state with 1967 borders will be the begining of the delegitimatizing of the zionist entity...
20. Recognize Palestine, with EJ as capital
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (04.12.11)
Otherwise you will never feel any peace, and you will always be a shunned pariah apartheid state.
21. i think the holy land will not divide
neojar ,   upssala sweden   (04.12.11)
i think the holy land will not divide to tow different states it was 5000BC for the Palestinians and the history and everything inside this land shows its for the Palestinians ppl even there is palestinians living in iseral itself and by 10 years they will be more than the jwes and iserael state will end like how it start some ships containing thousands of ppl getting away from palestine and the image of who all died on this long war will chase isreals everywhere !!!
22. #19 Neuteronomy
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.12.11)
Nobody cares what you think, you're just a non-entity
23. #18
deutronomy 28 ,   world   (04.12.11)
whether they can govern themselves or not its not of your or israel's business, the important thing is to recognize the palestinian state with the borders of 1967 and start the process of delegitimatizing of the zionist entity...so this is a step in the right direction...
24. Has anyone noticed that in that photo
Gimmie a break ,   Jerusalem   (04.12.11)
... their symbol has two swords crossing each other? Looks peaceful to me.
25. #20 NEVER EVER !!!
Brazen   (04.12.11)
We will see about that last part? Yella
26. UN andNo Fly Zones
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUsA   (04.12.11)
Does anyone take the UN seriously? W/O US aid, where would THEY be? How much of the Pales GDP is due to charity and funding from abroad? The PA is like Egypt, with no oil however. Its pop. is growing at tremendous rates, and its economy is slow. The Gaza Strip's unemployment is sky rocketing, with only Hamas jobs or smuggling ( arms) providing revenue. If the W. Bk affiliates with Jordan..it could be sustaining. But Jordan wants no part of it still. The real Pales is Jordan 75% of the mandate. W. Bk, will become another Hamastan if given sovereignty. The UN is blowing smoke. Get the US out of the UN and the US out of the UN. Wha happened to Moussas plead to shoot down Jewish pilots in a no fly zone, I wonder? The latest moronic gesture by the Arabs.
27. Why not?
Mark ,   USA   (04.12.11)
That's because the arabs have shown how well they know how to govern..just look at the MEast right now.
28. # 22
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.12.11)
GADOL !!
29. Blame Netanyahu and Barak
Rachel ,   US   (04.12.11)
Israel's two spineless cowards for the mess Israel is in.
30. Obama and Jihadism
Brod ,   USA   (04.12.11)
Obama must be pleased to see that France managed to destroy the Christian government in Ivory Coast and usher in the Islamist-Jihadists led by Alassane. And the PA Islamist-Jihadist usurpers are emboldened to crusade their Jihadism on Israel. The Free World and Congress should wake up before it is too late.
