31. #17 Salma
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.23.11)
Declaring a Palestinian State and creating one are two different matters Dream all you want, you'll never, ever see an Independent Palestine in your lifetime or that of your great grandchildren What do you mean by "Better than ever", there never was a Palestine I've asked you many a time, name it's last three rulers, stop stalling, do it !!
32. OK, so let's get real
Salma, Palestine   (04.23.11)
I don't care if the Jews were here first, we Arabs will take the land from the river to the sea and declare our independent state if you like it or not. That's reality.
33. Bloodthirsty Scot
Ralph levy ,   Usa   (04.23.11)
As fello Texan who is also a expert of Tex Mex all tacos including breakfest tacos. You are probably right Obama will probably be reelected. People vote with thier pocketbook. Disagree that Texas will become part of Mexico. This prediction through my margarita glass. By the way I have a degree in margaritas from the university of margaritaville.
34. Hey Salma !
Yossef   (04.23.11)
How are you, I've not seen you (on the talkback) for a while, where have you been? From the river to the sea ? Hmm ...
35. #32 Salma
Yossef   (04.23.11)
You will go nowhere with such a plan, I'm afraid. Be smart, think again, something more realistic.
36. Not an easy idea
Eric ,   Chicago, USA   (04.23.11)
to think about. Jordan is the most logical place to settle the refugee problem, but this could become as big of a fiasco as the uprooting of the settlers in Gaza. While I think that it makes logical sense, many of the worries that have been posted could possibly be only the tip of the ice berg. Let us assume that Palestinians will never be happy while Israeli's exist (which has been clear up till now). How do you convince them that Jordan is their true homeland. The second question is would the peace treaty be kept?
37. yes
(04.23.11)
but only huseen and rabin can do it
38. palestine/myth who controlls the ground controls reality
meir kohan ,   Eretz Israel   (04.24.11)
thank HaShem its Israel... the a-rabs and world can call it palestine canaan atlanta thats ok... but if you go there u will see its Israel and that is what matters.... the reality of who controls the land
39. Wishful thinking.
Jules   (04.24.11)
No-one in the M.E. really cares about "palestinians". The only reason why a non-existent "nation" was invented had been a desire to destroy Israel. Why: because the Jewish country has shown: how to build a whole new civilization in the desert. Finally the Arab people began to wake up that their problems have no relation to a small country the size of El-Salvador. The "palestinians" are now a terrible burden on the Muslim world: those are poor despotic countries, who cannot even take care about themselves, not to mention the problem that they had created by their own hands. Several million people have been on the UN social security budget for FOUR generations. Jordan is horrified to think about any involvement in the unavoidable process: the resettlement of the "palestinians" in the Arab world, which has the territory 500 time larger than Israel.
40. When will Israel Understand?
Arab. ,   Arabia   (04.24.11)
Arabs have long existed and lived in Palestine, we have history there, we have intangible value their, will you ever understand? will you ever understand that of you remove the Palestinians, you are affecting the Arab world as well, Palestine is not only for Palestinians its for arabs. We are 22 countries surrounding you, all I can say is: good luck ever finding security. You know America is running out of money. Just saying, please go back to Europe, and on that note, JORDAN IS NEVER FOR ISRAEL..this is arab land, you NEVER had or have right in it..it runs in our blood..its ours, we will not rest until your gone.
41. Yes yes and more YES. 78% of the mandate;80% of the populace
Think ,   People, World   (04.24.11)
and Israel wont be a defenseless, suicidal 8 miles wide surrounded by the epicenter of terror, Jordan is Palestine; for the above reasons you couldnt write a better script.
42. Arabs in Judea/Samaria=Citizens of Jordan aka Palestine, but
Scott ,   New Orleans US   (04.24.11)
residents of Israel. No transfer, just approproate citizenship and a passport east of the river. Done deal, real simple.
43. #32 are you asking for the genocide of 7 million human being
rachel ,   usa   (04.24.11)
beings ? you hypocrite .
44. its not a realistic option unless there is a revolution
zionist forever   (04.24.11)
At the moment the reality is Jordan is Palestine is not a realistic option. We option died when we chose the oslo approach to the palestinian problem. If instead of oslo we had told King Hussain the international community is going to raise a whole load of money which we will give to Jordan. In exchange citizenship will be given to all palestinians and Israel will negotiate giving up a percentage of Judea & Samaria to Jordan. Jordan is not a rich country so a big pay off would have been very attractive. We would not have created the PA so we could have 2 states and so the ordinary palestinians would have had no say in the matter and the Jordanian military could have smashed the PLO and its problem solved. Any land not given over to Jordan is annexed legally to Jordan, palestinian residents now Jordanians get a residency permit although we would make every effort to encourage the arabs to leave. Now though a generation has grown up on oslo and the 2 state soloution is ingrained to deeply. The unknown factor with Jordan is will King Abdullah end up a victim of the arab revolutions. If he does the 72% palestinians will probably take over the country then Jordan really will be a palestinian state and prehaps then Israel could start promoting the Jordan is Palestine idea but as things stand its not a realistic option.
45. to Salma 32
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (04.24.11)
"we Arabs will take the land etc" How will you TAKE it?You are a terrorist in any sense of the word and should be deported to Gaza ASP.Aren't you lucky to live in Israel and get away with a post like yours. You would serve your depraved Arab terrorists better by entering a wet burqa competition-give your brave Arabs a thrill.
46. of course this is the solution
cape straight ,   alaska   (04.24.11)
The article left out that King Hussein killed a thousand Palestineans who worked for Arafat. If the majority of Jordan is now Palestinean, the issue could be resolved with a vote, dah. Except voting is not the means of transfer of power yet in the region. Besides, establishing majority voting might have bad consequences down the road. One thing is sure. Yugoslavia is not something U want to create next to or inside of Israel. Straight borders along rivers make more secure states historically.
47. #27 Mark. A one time investment with permanent returns.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
#27 Mark. Paying Arabs to leave our land makes perfect sense. Tens of thousands of Arabs are already leaving Judea and Samaria, without Israeli compensation. With fair compensation, we could solve the problem within a few years. It would be a one time investment with permanent returns. Israel would save countless billions of dollars annually on security costs alone. Moreover, our land would be permanently secured. As for Ramallah real estate being worth "trillions" of dollars. You're clearly pulling numbers out of thin air. We're talking about Ramallah. & Judea/Samaria. Not New York State and California combined. Ramallah real estate
48. #32 Salma. Reality: Another "Palestine" fiasco beckons.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
#32 Salma. Salma, it's a pity to waste your life away waiting for an even that will never occur. The reality is the upcoming "Palestine" statehood proclamation will end up as a complete fiasco and humiliation for "Palestinians". Even more so than the last fictional proclamation of statehood. We have a fast growing Jewish community of 700,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria. This is our land now and forever. You may die with your ridiculous dreams. But your descendants will have to face the facts.
49. #32 Salma and reality
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (04.24.11)
Your dreams of conquest and the annihilation of Israel are fantasy.
50. I have told you so many times Salma #17
Israeli 2   (04.24.11)
There is no such thing as Palestine or Palestinians in 2018. In addition part of Jordan has been incorporated into Israel. I have no idea what events make this happen...but it simply will.
51. so-called "palestinians," NO country wants them
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.24.11)
52. PALESTINE = Jordan and Palestine!!
Yousuf ,   USA   (04.24.11)
The region of palestine has always included both sides of the jordan with th rest going to other arab countries.
53. I think a better version of the Jordan option would be
Jewish Warrior   (04.24.11)
Paying the Palestinians to immigrate, and recruiting Jordan into cooperating and enacting a law similar to the Law of Return for Palestinians. 70% of the Palestinians would get out if they would according to polls, 7,000 leave annually (24% to Jordan). Once the demographics between the Mediterranean and the River Jordan are solidly in Jewish favor, annex Judea and Samaria.
54. Jordan is histtotical palestine
trumpeldor   (04.24.11)
+1
55. Jordan is de facto Palestine, it only needs
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.24.11)
a change at the top of the administration...and an UN and EU funded housing project for some new residents...BUILD, BUILD, BUILD...
56. Ah, the utterly intractable quality of it all
Cameron ,   USA   (04.24.11)
Both parties stuck like a hamster on a running wheel until the real missile volleys launch.
57. #35 Yossef , No. 32 is not me!
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.24.11)
Fake salma, learn this, I do not say we Arabs, I say we Palestinians ; )
58. logical option
ramini   (04.24.11)
Setting up a country for the Palsestinians in Jordan ( East Bank ) seems to be the most logical and practical option . The majority of the population living in the East Bank are Palestinians and if Israel and USA help them to establish their own state in East Bank then this option would be the perfect one
59. #52 Yousuf, USA
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (04.24.11)
When was there an Arab state or nation called "Palestine" in the Middle East? Come on. I'm sure, you can answer this simple question.
60. Finally the can of worms is open
Antony ,   Tel Aviv   (04.24.11)
This looks more and more like the most rational solution, which shows how crazy the situation is here. The biggest obstacle, of course, is the international "community" and media, given Israel's continually poor hasbara.
