1. The land of Iran must be a very contaminated place, since
Said   (04.25.11)
otherwise, why would so many viruses be found there. It is time to cleanse the place.
2. Don't think this one's Israeli
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.25.11)
Targeting execution files? Amateur alley. Easiest ones to find. Besides, Stuxnet is still mutating and Bushehr, Natanz, Qum and Isfahan remain non-operational. The rods have not yet been replaced at Bushehr; the Russian scientists have said it is far too dangerous. No, "Stars" sounds really simple -- I mean, come on; the Iranians found it! -- perhaps a work product of the United States or Russia. I don't think it's Israeli. Stuxnet is a Bugatti -- and if you drive a Bugatti, who needs a Honda like "Stars?"
3. Stars had infected Iraqi PC's in 2007-8
J ,   USA   (04.25.11)
When I served there, it was a B**** to remove. Old soviet sourced computer virus targeting Windows OS.
4. Paranoid?
Marco ,   Spain   (04.25.11)
Initially they denied everything. Now they are in panic mode. Ever since the Stuxnet virus hit them with a big bang the Iranian Islamists are scared of their own shadow and would not reload the nuclear fuel for fear of the unknown.
5. Someone tell the iranian engineers to
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.25.11)
stop downloading porn from the internet!
6. computer viruses are 21st century special forces
zionist forever   (04.25.11)
Cyber warfare is something thats been talked about for years but nothing ever really came of it. Out of nowhere comes Stuxnet and causes havoc now its being closely followed by Stars. Computer viruses I think really will be a kind of 21st century special forces which can pinpoint certain targets attack a and cause alot of disruption and the best bit is the enemy can't fight back.
7. Sweet little worms.
Vivian Clayborn ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (04.25.11)
Whoever did it, G-d bless them for doing it.
8. donĀ“t overestimate those perzians
rihard ,   The Hague Holland   (04.25.11)
Agree with Sarah 100%. They are only Iranians. Villians as they are...they should not be over estimated
9. Maybe they'd like the address of my free anti-virus??
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (04.25.11)
10. #2 Paranoia
Robert ,   Brisbane Australia   (04.25.11)
You underestimate Iranian expertise at your peril. Notwithstanding that the Iranian nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and not to pander to Israeli paranoia, attempting to destroy a source of energy that doesn't pollute the atmosphere is as offensive as it is irresponsible. Iran is as capable of responding in kind. Furthermore, disinformation and deception aren't your strong suits.
11. Who says there is no good news?
Great news :)   (04.25.11)
Any act that prevents atom power from the sick minded leadership of Iran is good news
12. #10 Robert
solomon ,   bklyn   (04.25.11)
"You underestimate Iranian expertise at your peril." Correct. Never underestimate your enemy. However "disinformation and deception" is your only suit. Or are you really so gullible as to believe the Iranians? "You underestimate Iranian expertise at your peril." Remember?
13. It's the new plague of locusts.
Steve from Raleigh   (04.25.11)
How apt.
14. Iran is targeted by a lethal virus: radical Islam
Frank ,   Canada   (04.25.11)

zionist forever   (04.25.11)
I have a feeling it is probably the US but its probably either US or Israel because both do have the capability and the motive. Its certainly not Russia because they were furious when they found out about Stuxnet and they want to build these nuclear sites for Iran not screw it all up. It doesn't matter though who did it only that its been very effective and its introduced a new kind of warfare which I think will only increase in future.
16. someone smart has done this
Rumi   (04.25.11)
I suspect this must be either "the Jews" or else Democrats, we know Democrats are smart - like Hillary she is one smart lady. And Pharaoh Hussein he is really smart too. Republicans like Reagan and the Bushes are uneducated, and well, just plain dumb hicks, too embarrassing to invite to a dinnerparty with academics. So putting two and two together, it must have been the most clever people of all: cherchez le Democrat Jew....
17. No. 10, No pollution? You missed the Japanese earthquake
Marco ,   Spain   (04.25.11)
Iran's facilities do not have even close to half the protection Japanese reactors had as Iran is using slightly modified Chernobyl era technology. The nuclear disaster that will be unleashed on Iran in an earthquake or a Stuxnet initiated event will be devastating with millions of lives lost. Scientists and Engineers working there know that and are terrified of reloading fuel in the reactors. This paralysis and paranoia in their minds of new viruses will ensure that Iran will never accomplish its goal of producing nuclear weapons, and energy has never been their goal.

anton ,   istanbul turkey   (04.25.11)
yeah dont over or under estimate your enemies in this case i can say its only delaying resort not permanent solution and i think they will come out of this with great experience later to be used against guess who :)
19. The Stars virus has been around for a while
Avner ,   Tel Aviv   (04.25.11)
The Stars virus has been around for a couple of years - it's not specifically targetting Iran. The Iranian government are getting really paranoid.
20. #10 Robert - the iranian nuclear program is not peacefull
Daniela   (04.25.11)
at all - the whole world already understood that, so please Robert, it's time to wake up!
21. Well they could just switch their systems to MacOS...
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (04.25.11)
22. thanks for the feed back we must try harder
Avi ,   Israel   (04.25.11)
23. #10: Of course Iran's program is peaceful...
joe ,   st louis usa   (04.25.11)
...that's why they have the only "civilian energy" facility in the world that enriches uranium to weapons grade levels, right? Read the news. But I agree, it is unwise to underestimate Iranians, which is why the rest of the world is working so hard to stop them.
24. Freshest fatwa from Khamenei - kill Zionist virus!
leo ,   usa   (04.25.11)
25. BLESS THOSE ANTI-IRANIAN OLDE SOVIET VIRUSES!
JEWBIE ,   NYC USA   (04.25.11)
let's all watch watch iran melt down INTO A PUDDLE OF GOO....
26. To: Zionist Forever at No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.25.11)
The degree of sophistication that continues to amaze computer experts about Stuxnet is simply not evident in Stars. According to the poster at No. 3, it's an older computer virus (note "virus," as distinct from Stuxnet, which is a "worm") which traces back to the Russians. But Iranian computer technology and abilities are so prehistoric, it is very likely that the virus has been in their computers since 2007-08, and they have only now discovered it!
27. 17
zionist forever   (04.25.11)
What Iran has is no cherynobyl era rubbish. The reactor is modern and even more advanced that the Japanese ones built in the 70s.
28. #25 I knew a guy that always said, "shoot the goo, Ricky!"
Ricky   (04.25.11)
29. nieve
RONNIE ,   ISRAEL   (04.25.11)
you state "Notwithstanding that the Iranian nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and not to pander to Israeli paranoia, attempting to destroy a source of energy that doesn't pollute the atmosphere is as offensive as it is irresponsible. " do you honestly believe that the iranians are developing nuclear power for electricity? GIVE US A BREAK !!!
30. 27
Marco ,   Spain   (04.25.11)
Current Russian reactors in Iran are well bellow the standard of safety of 40 year old American ones in Japanese plants. Moreover Russia will never give Iran their latest working technology, it goes against their national interest, Iran is a potential enemy for them. I have always wondered if the Russian nuclear engineers in Iran do sabotage too, and now this Russian virus surfaces. Update your information!
