1. co-existence
Max   (04.27.11)
Israeli cities such as Haifa are the only places in the Mideast where Jews and Arabs live peaceably as neighbors.
2. Young Likud
Michael Pielet ,   boca, usa   (04.27.11)
Democracy for arabs, all 1,500,000. of the arab citizens of Israel. Ultimate result a growing irredentist arab population, no security for the Jews in the state, a binational state, and ultimately destruction of the state. Thank you young likud, or is it meretz?
3. Yank the other one.
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (04.27.11)
Funny how Israeli Arabs are paraded around when Israel needs to shore up its increasingly tarnished image as a tolerant, democratic, civilized country. Yet, there are constant calls to have them expelled, rescind their citizenship, cut back even the meager public infrastructure investment they get now, etc. Whenever there's a case of an Israeli Arab being discriminated against, there's a chorus of howls on these pages: "If you don't like it, get out of Israel!" Israeli Arabs DO have it better than Arabs in most Arab countries. But all that could change overnight: There is a potent section in Israeli body politic that would be only too happy to do to them what Arab leaders did to Mizra7i Jews a half century ago.
4. To # 3

Maybe they can join you in Bahrain.
5. October 2000
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (04.27.11)
Check your facts, bub And if we count the Palestinians under our control (why not? We count the settlers and they don't live in de jure Israel) then just under half the country (48%) has no right to vote, movement, habeas corpus and so on. I weep for my country these days. It's as if everything has gone wrong and we're mimicking the evils of our worst enemies (like this worthless piece of propaganda) and following the follies of our ancestors who thought they could defy the world and saw the Second Temple burn....
6. yea like anyone buys this nonsense anymore
marc   (04.27.11)
you really insult people by expecting them to believe this crap after well recorded history of crimes and fascist laws.

8. Yank this one Michael
jonathan ,   Truro, England   (04.27.11)
Funny that the Guardian and the BBC haven't found out about all this! I'd give them a call if I were you and I'll get them to interview a couple of my Israeli Arab friends. Let me know how you get on and I'll find out when they're on leave from the Israeli army.
9. Israel should be a democratic state for JEWS ONLY.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.27.11)
10. #7 it is not your land just like the land under
Dan ,   USA   (04.27.11)
the Buckingham palace is not yours either. Your land is in Jordan. There has never been a sovereign state by the name of Palestine.in the history of this planet. Allah will never let the Arab occupiers of the Jewish land of Israel live in tranquility and happiness regardless how many Tel Aviv leftists side with your nonsensical aspiration.
11. Yeah, yeah! Give them the best professional,
Frank ,   USA   (04.27.11)
business, educational opportunities. Give them the first rate madical and pre-natal care. Give them welfare and and all kind of social services. Give them everything they want while hoping that you will not be stabbed in the back. Ha...it is not going to happen and you know it. They will always elect those who will continue to hate you badmouthing you to the rest of the world.

ivan ,   haifa   (04.27.11)
or beduins without water?
16. Yes, we do have more political freedom but not economic one
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (04.27.11)
It is true, beyond any doubt, we Israeli-Arabs, have more political freedom than any other arabs in the Middle East, it a fact that can't be denied. However, we still do not enjoy the other benefits of a true democracy and free economy. Compared to our country men the jews, we still lag behind when it comes to economic development, jobs, budget allocation, land allocation, education, judicial system, etc. We yearn for the day were all Israeli-Arab and Israeli-Jews are truly equal which will only make Israel more secure and prosperous.
17. Salma, that can be arranged
American Sabrah   (04.27.11)
We'd be more than happy to give your land back to you..........in JORDAN!! Then we can discuss about your full democratic rights. How does that sound to you? I think we are being fair.
18. #3 and #5 a little perspective on democracy
joe ,   st louis usa   (04.27.11)
There are always calls for this or that. That's democracy. But in the end, no matter what anyone "calls for," when the Israeli people actually vote we find that no one is getting expelled and all citizens have equal rights under law. The West Bank was never politically annexed by Israel, and its Palestinian population were all voting citizens of Jordan until 1988. Jordan revoked their citizenship but Palestinians do still have the right to vote for their government: its called the Palestinian Authority. Assuming they ever bother to hold elections again... Bottom line: everyone in the West Bank has the right to vote, for THEIR government. Everyone in Israel has the right to vote for THEIR government. That's how democracy works. I don't get to vote for the government of Italy or Spain. Nor should I.
19. #15 What about chechen, ingushe and etc. in Russia?
Joav ,   Germany   (04.27.11)
Go home to Russia and "enjoy the real democracy" there. LOL
20. Absolutely 100% true!
Abed ,   Nazareth, Israel   (04.27.11)
Israel's Arabs owe it so much. This is a completely true article.
21. What About The Penguins?
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (04.27.11)
22. Is that a late April lie?
Raf ,   UK   (04.27.11)
there is something called the "lie of April", but it takes place on the 1st, not in the 27th of the month. If you like jokes that much, correct your clock Ynet.
23. #3 You have OMITTED...they engage in anti-Israel activities
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.28.11)
some of which are treasonous...and for that they should be expelled so they can demand and get benefits elsewhere, like in the UK and other European countries which are welfare states. Those are excellent places for them to immigrate to. Some show greater allegiance to the PA so they should also go to the W Bank. Then there are those who plot to kill Israelis. So don't try to paint them as angels. It won't work - it will only expose you as having tunnel vision. Take a good look at Zoabi. She should have been dropped off at the Raffah crossing long ago and the gate slammed on her.
24. #18--
Not important ,   IL   (04.27.11)
You say "Bottom line: everyone in the West Bank has the right to vote, for THEIR government. Everyone in Israel has the right to vote for THEIR government. That's how democracy works. I don't get to vote for the government of Italy or Spain. Nor should I." The only thing missing from that analogy is the fact that you are under neither Italian nor Spanish occupation.
25. Rami,
Abed ,   Nazareth,Israel   (04.27.11)
You make good points but we can't blame the government or the Jewish minority for all of that. A lot of the problem lies in our own communities. If Arabs move closer to accepting the legitimacy of a Jewish state, the Jewish majority will meet us halfway and things would be better. We cant put ourselves into a box and claim to be victims. Thats not how it works.
26. #24 good point
Joe ,   St Louis USA   (04.28.11)
That's why Israel offered a state 6 times. Maybe eventually the PA government will do a service to its citizens and accept.
27. #16 - Economic Freedom
Noach ,   USA   (04.28.11)
Rami, you are a good guy but you do not understand Israel. Israel is a culturally Jewish/capitalist society, not a culturally Arab one. Therefore, you can be as successful as you make yourself. You cannot rely on a welfare state or uncle/cousin/mukthar to give you a job. You must earn it... On the flip side, you are not limited to the job the state or your uncle/cousin/mukthar can give you. The sooner you make this cultural distinction, the sooner you will be economically free. Good luck!
28. Rami and abed from Al-Nasreh
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.28.11)
62 years with the Jews, you have learn nothing GOOD from them!
29. salma - the land was never yours !
Daniela   (04.28.11)
AGAIN, palestine never existed ! Israel was born twice !
30. #3, which party calls for Israeli Arab expulsion?
Danny   (04.28.11)
and the only Israeli Arabs - along with Israeli Jews - who anyone thinks should have their citizenship revoked are the ones who actively support the enemies of the State. Try openly and vocally supporting the enemies of the King of Bahrain and see if the worst that happens to you is someone telling you if you don't like it you can leave. Israeli Arabs have it better than every single arab in every single country bar the members of the ruling elite.
