31. #5, does the US count non-citizens living in the US?
Danny   (04.28.11)
As a non-American do I have the vote in the US? If not is the US "oppressing" me? Do you ever write anything apart from self-righteous Israel hating wank? We count the Israeli settlers because they are Israeli citizens, just like we count the Israelis who are in India.
32. #15, what about them?
Danny   (04.28.11)
33. 100% correct, arabs r free in Israel
ghostq   (04.28.11)

Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.28.11)
The difference is called citizenship you moron. The "Palestinians" are citizens of a country called Jordan, whose territory is EAST of the Jordan River. The "settlers" are citizens of a country call Israel, whose territory is WEST of the Jordan River. Now you have an actual fact.
36. Rami of Nazareth #16
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.28.11)
You are correct that you have not the same level of benefits and it is mainly your own fault. How about doing National Service? Most of those benefits are derived from doing National Service. So if you want equal benefits you had better be prepared to do equal work to receive it. Are you? Are you willing to put your life on the line for all Israelis regardless of religion? Until you answer "YES" to that you will never get equal benefits.
37. To Salma...
Abed ,   Nazareth, Israel   (04.28.11)
At least we didn't learn hatred and terror from the PLO or HAMAS. We learn to live in peace something you fail to do every day.
38. Re #3
John ,   Alaska   (04.28.11)
I'm pointing out that post #3 says in no uncertain terms: "Israeli Arabs DO have it better than Arabs in most Arab countries." And that the writer of post #3 admits therein that what the Arab countries did to Jews half a century ago was _wrong_.
39. # 28: S. and meanigless comments
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
instead of posting meaningless comments (that don't earn you much respect). Make sure your fellow palestinain can live in a civil society where human rights are respected. Not where rival groups imprison and torture their opponents, not where the ruler dictates to barbers whose hair they can cut and whose they can't!
40. to #36 Gee
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (04.28.11)
I think all arabs should do military/national service. However I disagree with you. Druz and beduin have been serving in the IDF since independence, still they also are discriminated against, in the case of the beduin, they are even worst that the arabs who don't serve. On the other hand, yeshiva student don't serve and they have better opportunitites than arabs who DO serve.!!! how do you explain this??
41. To #24
John ,   Alaska   (04.28.11)
If the surviving members of the Illini Confederation (the people on whose land you are squatting) lived in a reservation, and planned suicide bombings and missile attacks until the US gave them back the Mississippi Valley, you can be sure that federal troops would be on their reservation, on their own sovereign land, keeping your American behind safe from them. And you would be as grateful as the survivors of suicide bombings in Israel are grateful that there is an IDF presence in Samaria and Judea.
42. to Salma 7
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (04.29.11)
Who is denying you-go to Jordan which is very democratic. You would have the freedom to do what you want.Yes?
43. 28 - the difference between you and rami
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (04.29.11)
rami sees the world as it is and appreciates the good he has, while not denying the difficulties yet to be overcome. salma, however, is blinded with her empty politics and poisoned with hatred. rami speaks intelligently, salma regurgitates garbage. rami wished a better future for israeli arabs, salma, if she gets her wishes, dooms arab women and minorities to lives of subjugated humiliation and brutality (may those depraved wishes never see the light of day). there are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
44. Thank you Mike #43
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (04.29.11)
It is Israelis like you and me who will make Israel a better place and more prosperous...
45. #40 Rami is right
Ze'ev ,   Lod   (04.29.11)
We should embrace people based on their ideology and stance towards the state not their blood! I believe Ariel Sharon once said that for him a Jew is anyone who served in Golani...

Not sure what your comment is based upon!!! Please tell me why Israeli-Arab college graduate who graduate from the best Israeli universities (Technion, Hebrew U. etc..) at the top of their class, never find a job no matter how hard they try and how many resumes they send? They don't even make it to an interview just because of their Arabic name. On the other hand jews with less qualification find good jobs with less efforts Please explain to me why Arab localities hardly even get government approval to expand municipal boundaries to build much needed industrial zones and public housing, while jewish localities are generously expanded with no hassle? Which part I do not culturally understand?

One of the best plastic surgeons in the north, who works privately and in Zfat Hospital is an Arab Christian. The civil engineer we work with is a Druze from the Golan. We had an Arab GP through Kupat Holim for over 10 years, my grandkid's pediatrician is Arab (not sure if he's Muslim or Christian, as if that matters to me). Lets see who else, ah, yes the inspector from our local building council is Arab or Druze (I don't remember). A number of policemen in our area are Arabs. The judge who gave me break on a traffic ticket was an Arab judge...... Arab towns that I am familiar with are building new homes on expanded areas around their villages and towns. Just so you know, local building councils in Israel treat us Jews pretty badly too! A lot of the problems that Arab municipalities have stems from the fact that many of their residents do not pay municipal taxes. The central government allots the payments according to how much taxes are actually collected by the local council! NO country is perfect, and Israel is no exception. But I am so pleased to read your posts here, because we are on the same page, and that is good to know!
