1. When Will Israel Honor Its Camp David Agreement to
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (04.30.11)
Withdraw from W. Bank and Gaza within 5 years of signing the agreement?
2. Once again it shows
Standing Tall ,   USA   (04.30.11)
There cannot be peace as long as the Arabs, including Egypt, believe they can demonize Israel and break peace treaties. The future looks dismal with Israel having to shore up defenses in the south and border with Egypt. Israel must meet force with force. Mr. Obama, it appears your policy towards Egypt is a failure. Support Israel and start sending more aid and decrease aid to Egypt. It appears they no longer will tow the American line.
3. Egypt's policy is quite clear. No Peace Treaty, No Israel
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (04.30.11)
And best of all, it will make a total fool of Jimmy Carter and the Camp David Agreement. Our Government MUST move NOW to connect the gas in the Mediterranean of to our grid!
4. Our ''leaders'' are always disconcerted.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (04.30.11)
Also, dismayed, surprised, over-taken by events, out-manoeuvered, & taken aback. This is because they are a pretty mediocre lot. Anyone with half a brain who keeps even somewhat informed & has some common sense, could easily predict developments. But, not our geniuses.
5. #1 how soon we forget
Tony   (04.30.11)
The Camp David accords and all other Arab Israeli accords were predicated on the sensation of all terrorism. So far these negotiations are null and void in the simplest legal terms; so you understand. Any accord requires reciprocity from the signatories. With hamass and fatah, their propensity to lie and perpetrate terror attacks leaves the Camp David accords a useless pile of excreta. I suggest you read the actual accords and condition for implementation before you try to coerce a one sided act of suicide.
6. #1
dc ,   dc, usa   (04.30.11)
When the arab residents of gaza, judea, and samaria love their own children more than they hate jews (e.g. never)
7. tpo #1
Edu ,   KH   (04.30.11)
Doug, please read the complete agreement it's in english!!!!!!!!
8. #2 - "won't toe the American line"...
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (04.30.11)
but the Egyptians are towing the American line... they dumped Mubarak. American aid re-allotment? We should reconsider all foreign aid and stop borrowing those billions from China.
9. When is the world going to wake up?
Countess Mara   (04.30.11)
We are still hunted no matter what we do. We withdraw from the gush katiff, and still they throw rockets. So why should we do anything else? Like the native Americans got thrown under the bus no matter where or what they did, the very same is going on here and now for us. There is no such thing as a civilized world. Is there such a possibility that peoples can become extinct?
10. No more goodwill gestures!!!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (04.30.11)
Time to take the Sinai back with all its wonderful resources! Camp david agreement is void now!
11. Israel is becoming soooo weak
samer ,   Ramallah , Palestine   (04.30.11)
12. Clearly, it appears the "new forces" in the Muslim-Arab...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.30.11)
...world are not eager to move away from conflict into peace and prosperity, but rather, their intent is to delve into the filthy waters of Muslim-Arabism and place forth the Arab Israeli conflict, instead of trying to resolve it. The practically spitting on agreements, and calling to abrogate others all suggest that the "new Middle East" is going to be very similar to the old one, only with different players, ones who, in order to advance their position must find an outside enemy, and the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel, is now and has always been the most convenient one. Does Mr. B.H.Obama understand this? I have my doubts, having been viewing how lacking of understanding he is in international relationships he is in general and that of the Middle East in particular. And, after all, such training is neither obtained by being a community organizer in Chicago nor by "sitting under" Rev. J. Wright for 20 years and taking in his sick views of the world in general and the position of Jews in it in particular.
13. Surprise, surprise!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (04.30.11)
Hello? What's new here? Arab leaders have always been backstabbers and liars. You can not trust them with peace accords, or accords of any sort. Israel's leaders have too much good will, but this time I hope theycoming back to Israel in the future. will learn. And the world wants Israel to have a "peace accord" with the "Palestinians". What a joke!
14. Israel needs a leadership makeover
Rachel ,   US   (04.30.11)
The yellow mediocre clowns like Netanyahu and Barak will be Israel's undoing.
15. #1 no such agreement
Mike ,   oxford   (04.30.11)
Begin and Sadat agreed to palestinian autonomy. There was no agreement to withdrawal from the west bank. In fact it was specifically agreed that the border issue would be discussed according to UN resolution 242 which does not call for full Israeli withdrawal from the west bank but for some territorial compromise - Which incidentally Israel has offered but the palestinians refused.
16. Hamas,Egypt,Obama
Dr.Ludwig ,   Belgium   (04.30.11)
Why is Obama accepting these changes ? But OK, if Egypt cooperates with the Teror organization Hamas, the U.S. government have to stopp the huge grants for Egypt or at least reduce it.Wenn Israel is speaking about the construction of some flats in Jerusalem Obama is acting immediately,as danger for peace.
17. #1, where did it offer that?
Danny   (04.30.11)
18. Open crossing is a threat to Israel's national security
Random Tourist ,   London, UK   (04.30.11)
Since when is food, medicine and childrens clothes a threat? Doesnt tgis say something about Israel?
19. israel concerned
moron ,   galut   (04.30.11)
what was their first clue?...the american television told them this was 'arab spring' not arabs gone wild! ..u.s. elites wrong?
20. #10 - "take the Sinai back"...
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (04.30.11)
go for it... it will enliven the bored, pizza bloated IDF troops at Palestinian checkpoint duty, provide an excuse to blow the dust/rust out of military vehicle engine exhausts and cause a spike in the price of jet fuel, munitions, medical supplies, etc.... it may even affect the world's commercial traffic through the Suez canal.
21. Thank you Hezbollah....
(04.30.11)
for exposing exposing Israel for what it really is: WEAKER THAN A SPIDER'S WEB...
22. #18: it is a threat to policy of hunger and starvation
Barbara ,   London   (04.30.11)
Israel's policy is to deliberately starve Gazans so that they revolt against Hamas. Jews using hunger as a weapon against civillians? Have we learned nothing from the experience of jews in Europe?
23. The quislings of the no peace process
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.30.11)
The peace process has left Israel in a deep trance unable to take action. They sit on their hands and wait for the international community to do something so they can stay in the trance. The little quisling grasshopper Netanyahu is afraid to breath in the fear that it might anger the followers of allah and his master's in Washington. Israel has been neutered by the fake peace process and like a deer in the headlights stands paralyzed.
24. WE MUST TAKE THE SINAI BACK!
Hertzel ,   Tveria   (04.30.11)
Retaking the Sinai will DeFang the terrorists as well as all those trying to reach them with more weapons. DO WE HAVE LEADERS THAT HAVE THE BALLS???????????? THAT IS THE QUESTION
25. Israel has no choice
Hertzel=PHD ,   Tveria   (04.30.11)
BUT TO START DOING ONLY WHAT IS GOOD FOR ISRAEL, WITHOUT BE COSERNED ABOUT THE WEST. THE WEST IS COCERNED ABOUT APPEASING THEIR FREINDS IN ARABIA, THEREFOR APPEASING THEM IS LIKE APPEASING THE ENEMIES. TAKE BACK THE SINAI, ANNEX JUDIA AND SEMARIA, AND ALL OF JERUSALM, AND GET ENTRENCHED, ENTRENCHED AND ENTRENCHED, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY WHERE THINGS ARE GOING, AND THE SOONER THIS LEADERSHIP REALIZE THAT THE BETTER
26. The New Egypt
leo ,   nyc   (04.30.11)
So much for the "paradise" forseen by the media and Obama once Mubarak was out of office. Once and for all it has been proven that peace treaties are worthless in the Middle East. And incidentally Egypt's economics will further descent into chaos...
27. Some excellent news at last
Lorna ,   Dubai   (04.30.11)
This is excellent news - Egyptian leaders finally responding to the brotherly concerns of the Egyptian public about their Palestinian neighbours. To those on this site who belong to the shameless neo-conservative school of pro-Israel thought, I say ha ha. To those others on this site who genuinely believe Israel is a victim under siege, I say please do your own extensive research. The state of Israel is an aggressor, not a victim. If you do your own research rather than relying on mainstream Israeli media or the Israeli narrative of victimhood, you'll quickly learn that the Israeli authorities have lied and stolen their way through the past six decades. Shamefully, they've opted for illegal expansion and aggression over the security of Israel's citizens. And it's beyond belief how successfully they've managed to con the Israeli public into thinking otherwise. I've met many Israelis over the years and it is obvious they are too close to the situation to stand back and see what is really going on and how massively they've been conned.
28. #18, you missed by a mile the whole point, it's the opposite
Marco ,   Spain   (04.30.11)
There is plenty of humanitarian aid in Gaza and more is flowing in from Israel everyday. The open Rafah border is to transfer heavy weaponry into Gaza to attack Israel to cause it to stop humanitarian aid to Gaza. You are really a very smart fellow to grasp such nuances in Middle East rhetoric.
29. Rather than making others concerned. Israel always concerned
USA   (04.30.11)
It appears that Israel makes policy only as reactions to what the policy of others is such as USA, Turkey, Egypt, etc, etc.
30. #1; Doug, Folks don't worry about him
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.30.11)
Doug just makes it up as he goes along, as you've already pointed out. He's wrong so often he's become a joke. So easy to disprove his silly ramblings, as you people have already proved.
