We (Jews, indeed all human beings) are commanded by G-d NOT to rejoice upon the death of our enemy, further it is Holocaust Memorial Day in Israel, and so, I for one, will keep my reaction subdued. However, as a Sephardi Jewish-American living in Jerusalem, I do believe that Psalms 118:15-16 and 19 are appropriate comments. They are: "The sound of joyous song & deliverance is in the tents of the righteous: 'The Right Hand of AdoShem performs deeds of valor. The Right Hand of Adoshem is exalted, the Right Hand of Adoshem performs deeds of valor.'" (...) "Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter them, I will give thanks unto G-d." I do believe with all my heart that it is just and right that at this time G-d has given over Osama Bin Laden to the Armed Forces of the United States of America. G-d Bless America and may a sure peace reign over the Earth.

The spirit and ideology of Bin Laden will live on and he will immediately become a martyr, which in Islam means a hero, and his followers will denounce the whole world and proclaim that they will carry his torch and that in the end Islam will prevail. The problem is not to kill this or that person, the problem is to kill the deep and ingrained ideology of islam, it is an insurmountable task.

First of all, the US always knew where Osama was. Even reporters knew where to find him just before 9-11. Osama was more useful as a boogie man so that they could enact all those Orwellian security measures in the US and Europe. Second, he was already a very sick man. It has been rumored he died of kidney disease years ago. Third, this announcement is suspiciously timely, with the controversy about the authenticity of the birth certificate, the plunging popularity of Obama, and all that. Who was just killed? Maybe one of Osama's doubles.

Watching tv now thousands outside white house looks like VE day. I origially thought WW 3 was going to break out when the president announced he was speaking at 11 pm on a Sunday night.

The US and UK have been funding the M. Brotherhood and Al Qaeda for years. They use them for one reason or another and many are on the CIA payroll.

Officials said that bin Laden's body was handled in accordance with Islamic tradition. In the first place there is no specific Islamic tradition except burial not incineration like Israel did to Eichman's. Secondly, born Muslim does not impart Islam to a murderer. He was automatically excommunicated long long ago, there is no Islamic ceremony, if ever exist, needed to announce that.
