1. no ! a victory for US intelligence and the Navy Seal unit

2. Now is the time for bold moves
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Cherry Hill, NJ USA   (05.02.11)
Obama still needs to push for a two State solution, despite the settlers and right wing in Israel and their supporters. Israel will be more secure, not less, when it is not occupying three million people. With Syria weakened this is the best time to push for a negotiated settlement. The right wing can call Obama an enemy of Israel all they want but unless they are willing to accept either a binational State or apartheid and future economic boycotts and divestitures worse than anything they have seen before, it is in Israel's interest to rid itself of the occupation once and for all. A Two State solution will be recognized by all the major powers: Germany, China, France, Russia, England, etc. and the onus will be on the Palestinians, not the Israelis, to prove the State is a functioning State that can join the community of nations and not a terrorist State. The Bin Laden's, Ghaddafi's, Assad's are on their way out and Nasrallah of Lebanon and Ahmadinejad of Iran will eventually find themselves all alone in the world as well. Now is the time to make bold moves for peace and for Israel to truly become an integral part of the Middle East. Can Netanyahu make a leap of faith and become a true leader or does he want to continue making proclamations about Israel does not have a partner for peace? It takes a bold leader willing to make unique compromises to change the status quo. Leadership involves doing things that are in your country's best interest even when those things are very unpopular. Netanyahu needs to decide if he is content with the status quo which will bring Israel no closer to peace or if he truly wants to go down in history as the leader who brought Israel the peace it so badly wanted and deserved.

4. Barry Odumbo had to act as his presidency is in peril.
Al   (05.02.11)
One shot in the dark doesnt make a President. Odumbo is still a very poor president. Sure when it comes to Israel, he's got balls only because the Israeli leadership hasnt got any.
5. The exact opposite
Marco ,   Spain   (05.02.11)
Bibi will have a stronger argument against creating a new country for Arab Terrorists, like Hussein O. was against accommodating Osama.
6. victory? that is what b says to s

7. I knew someone would write this article
Rachel ,   US   (05.02.11)
Why should Bibi fear a stronger Obama? Especially when our "partner in peace" Hamas has condemned the Osama killing? Bibi should ask Obama if he will continue US aid to the PA now they are united with Hamas? How about a little pressure on the Bin Laden loving Palestinians.
8. To #2 Mark
Rachel ,   US   (05.02.11)
You are a nothing but blind leftist if you think Bibi should create a Palestinian state with Hamas, a group that calls Bin Laden a "holy warrior." Not to mention they call for Israel's destruction. How can you possible reconcile and make peace with them?
9. This is not about Obama !
Tor Gnon ,   Njamena, Chad   (05.02.11)
How some obscure and weird analysis can arrive at the conclusion that Obama will benefit from Osama's death is beyond me. Ynet: how come? Let Bibi call Obama's bluff and dare him to take a clear and public stance about Jerusalem? As already noticed early today: it takes an Obama Hussein to kill and Osama. That alone speaks volumes about the american fellow. And the Lord knows I'm not being wicked or malicious.
10. WISHFULLTHOUGHTS ONLY - !!!.

Indeed so: " Now is the time for bold moves". Thank you Mark, for your true words.
12. One swallow doesn't bring a summer...
tiki ,   belgium   (05.02.11)
Obama needs a lot more swallows to bring him a summer. It's not that he himself went to Pakistan to find & shoot Bin Laden. He tries (understandable) to 'score on it but the 'compliments go to those who 'did the job, and that's not Obama. To give the OK for a job, doesn't meen the job get's done.
13. Always searching for a reason to pressure Israel.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.02.11)
One could as easily argue that getting Osama strengthens the US hand against Pakistan, or the PA, or Syria, et.al., all of whom have worked against what they see as a weak US. Those like Gilboa are always spinning the current situation to justify Israel submitting to the US. Ironically, a few weeks ago - before Osama was killed - foreign policy groups in the US were tasked with coming up with new strategies for dealing with the current deadlock in negotiations. Their three main options began with "pressuring Israel to ..." Given such blinkered thinking, it's no wonder the US is considered the declining force in the region.
14. First sentence of the article speaks of Obama, not Osama.
Damien Thorn   (05.02.11)
15. A resounding "NO" to evil Two State Final Solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.02.11)
When all is said and done, Obama will almost certainly be recognized as one of the worst presidents in U.S. history. One would have to go back to Civil War Era President James Buchanan to find someone comparably incompetent and divisive. Atleast Buchanan didn't make pathetic apology tours. What matter to Israel is claiming our land. Judea and Samaria belong to us legally and by all rights. It doesn't matter who is President of the U.S. Just as Paris belongs to France; no matte what anybody says. Israel must give a resounding "NO" to the evil Two State Final Solution.
16. #2 Region changes but not your old J-Street talking pts
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (05.02.11)
"Best time" for peace? 1. Fatah is now unified with Hamas, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas' goal is to destroy Israel. It's in their charter. What is there to negotiate? 2. Bin Laden, Assad and all the rest will be replaced by a new set of fascist jihadi leaders. That's what happens when the new generation is raised in radical Islamic ideology instead of democratic ideas. Case in point: Mubarak is being replaced in Egypt by the Muslim Bros. The MBs are orchestrating the revolts in Syria and elsewhere. 3. WHEN WILL YOU ADMIT THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ISRAELIS AND PALESTINIANS? Israel is a multicultural democracy that gives all its citizens the right to worship their religion in freedom, and representation in Parliament and the justice system. JEWS AND ARABS LIVE AND WORK TOGETHER IN ISRAEL. Palestinians are the ones engaging in "apartheid." They are totalitarians and have zero tolerance for non-Muslims. Hamas kills scores of their own Palestinian Muslim political opponents. No Jew will be allowed to live in a Palestinian state. Christians are already fleeing for their lives. 4. It's time for you, Mark, to make a "bold move" and look at the reality of what's happening in the Mideast instead of spouting the same tired leftist anti-Israel talking points.
17. #2 is living in world of make believe
Jake   (05.02.11)
Al Qaeda is a terror franchise, a many-headed monster, not a snake with just one head. Saying "the Bin Ladens are on their way out" is a deliberate attempt to minimize the threat of Islamic terror, in order to advance your own agenda.
18. He ordered the mission, SEALS did it, why credit obumma?
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.02.11)
19. bibi should have our people take out the
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.02.11)
ham-ass, hizbollah and p.a. terrorist leadership. b.o. sat on this for awhile and killing bin laden will not stop al queda. And remember when all is said and done, it was the seals that killed bin laden and not the politicians. They should go after the pakis for protecting the terrorist. These are our allies?
20. Obama cannot take credit
Falafelis ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.02.11)
for this great victory. All the work was done by the CIA, U.S military, and most importantly the American people who stayed determined
21. Thank You George W. Bush. You are the Man!
W. ,   Beirut, LB   (05.03.11)
22. #2, can't clap with one hand
Danny   (05.03.11)
Need to have Palestinians who are actually willing to make the two state solution work. We had Hamas out today praising Osama so we know where they stand. As for divestures, there have been virtually no divesture from Israel despite all the noise the anti-Israelis make and Israel has been facing an organised boycott for decades from the Arabs which has had only a positive impact on the Israeli economy. We already see over and over there is no onus on the Palestinians for anything. They are the ultimate in sponging and contributing exactly zero to the world except lies and terrorism. I defy you to name one occasion the UN unequivocably condemned Palestinian terror. Bin Laden and Gaddafi never really were an enemy of Israel - that was the standard lie the Left spouted to "explain" Al-Qaeda. Nasrallah is comfortably enscounced in power in Lebanon, Assad is crushing his rebellion as we speak and on his way to taking Libya's seat on the UN human rights council. Ahmadenejad may go but given he is just a figurehead won't make the blindest bit of difference. Seems it is always the right time, always the last chance, always the time to make "brave moves", always the time to show leadership and has been since 1993 and apparently 18 years and over 1000 dead Israelis later, Israel is still hearing the same tired old propaganda.
23. Thank you Pres. Bush is absolutely correct!
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (05.03.11)
It was GWB who permitted water-boarding to extract vital info. It was GWB who authorized the National Security Admin. to tap phones for international calls. All the heavy lifting was done by the Bush admin. Obama tried to undo each initiative. Were it not for GWB, OBL would still be alive and on the loose.
24. HOLD OUT
ZICHRON   (05.03.11)
EVEN IF OBAMA GOES TO 2016 GIVING MORE TIME FOR A ADMINISTRATION THAT UNDERSTANDS STATUS QUO IN ISRAEL IS THE BETTER OPTION FOR MANY YEARS . WE NEED THE ARABS AS ENEMIES AND THEY NEED US EVEN MORE. FUTHERMORE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE IT IS VERY GOOD THAT THEY ARE AMONGST US .THE TWO STATES AND ONE STATE FOR TWO PEOPLE IS NOT YET READY .ISLAM WAS WITH NAZISM IN WW2 .THEY REFUSED REFUGEE STATUS QUO IS JUST.
25. Another Obama scam!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (05.03.11)
Osama died years ago. No pics Body conveniently dumped at sea And now his new birth certificate has been proven to be fake!
26. First we need to see the pictures of Osama death
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (05.03.11)
second we need to see the pictures of his burial at sea...third the video of him alive and than dead in the building After that we will thank the Bush administration and the real hears here:the man that did the job,not Obama...he only sat down on a comfortable chair doing absolutely nothing....
27. NOT a victory for Obama
Brod ,   USA   (05.03.11)
Whether there is an Obama or not, America would go after all the Hitlers of the world like Bin Laden and exterminate them. America fought against evil and tyranny. It is a victory for America's values.
28. THE TRUTH: Obama hesitated - for months
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (05.04.11)
DC sources are saying that Obama knew of Bin Laden's location for several weeks to months, but each time his advisors asked for the green light, the President found a way to stall (Hillary Clinton was reportedly furious and Robert Gates was close to resigning). Obama was worried that if the operation was unsuccessful, it would hurt his re-election and inflame the Muslim world. The word is that because of Obama's dithering, Leon Panetta went on his own and took charge of the operation (with General Petraeus), giving the order to move in on OBL - with minimal involvement from Obama.
29. Obama
Ron ,   My Town, USA   (05.21.11)
US Pres. Obama is an idealist when it comes to solving the Israel/Palestinian problem. His intentions are good but his expectations are not realistic. As long as the Palestinians hate Israel, a peace agreement is useless and giving up land is futile. Never give up an inch of land. Land is security. Land is leverage. Give it up and you have neither.
