You obviously haven't tried to renew your British passport when you are resident in Israel and have Israeli citizenship. It costs over NIS1,000 and the application has to be sent to.....FRANCE, not England, for processing.!!!!!!

A passport is an international document which is used for entring and leaving a country, so how come the Israeli passport is read from the right to the left so that immigration officers turn the Israeli passport few times until they can find where the beginning and the end. Make it into a readable document! for the world!

Hey, after just spending several days frantically searching the house for my passport, for a last-minute business trip (I'd left it in a handbag I don't often use), I think the chipping option sounds pretty neat!
