1. Choice
Michael ,   Jerusalem   (05.12.11)
"Netanyahu declared that Abbas must choose between Hamas and Israel"....didn't he obviously already make his choice???
2. PM will not announce "concessions" during his speech !!
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.12.11)
but don't worry Dear Congressmen and women, one way or another BiBi will say something rude! A speech guaranteed to to evoke your "emotion".
3. Guarantees from Obama?
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (05.12.11)
That's a laugh. Does anyone know how Netanyahu manages to stand up without a backbone? Obama is planning to ambush Netanyahu - he is giving a major policy speech just the day before Netanyahu addresses Congress. By trying to appear moderate, all Netanyahu does is under-cut our allies in America. This is a really dumb strategy & will get us absolutely nothing. Netanyahu has been over-taken by events, he is completely reactive not pro-active. The phoney peace process is a rotting corpse that no one wants to bury. But all Netanyahu seems capable of doing is reaching back into his repertoire of old speeches & repeating them. It doesn't matter if much of what he says is correct - developments in the region have made this irrelevent. Nothing could be more clear than that the Palestinians do not want peace with us. On any terms. It's time to say so out loud & very publically. Basically, our position should be that Fatah should be treated the same way as Hamas, all ties should be cut, Oslo is over.
4. what happened
(05.12.11)
Bibi said "I'm tough!" Obama said "bend over!" Bibi said "for how long?"

the author before you read or comment. Almost all, if not all Atilla Salfami's articles are based on anonimous sources. This article is a perfect example of "...Likud elements", "...Likud sources, that estimated Thursday", "..sources close to PM", "..associates of Nataniahu..". Is such information can be trusted or deserve any comment?Don't let yourself being manipulated.
7. Cue Music from CATS
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (05.12.11)
Some middle eastern nations have oil. Israel does not. It does, instead, have enduring memories. Except for short term things like elections of useless polititurds over and over again, Israel and be extension JOOOS remember. Bibi does NOT want to be remembered as the "dismemberer of Israel" His speach will go the full Fred Astair and give a kiss and promise towards making believe anyone actually believes that "peace is possible" short of Israel imersing itself in the dead sea and slashing it's national wrists. Kicking the can of war down the road is a tried and true technique. Once more into the phantom breach. Ready? OSLO.WYE.HEBRON.CAMP DAVID. and on. And on. To life something from the ZerObama nation; hows that peace and side by side in mutual respect and brotherhood thiny working out for you.
8. Position of strength
Rachel ,   US   (05.12.11)
Do not make any concessions whatsover. Congress and the American people will back you. Especially now with the Hamas goons as part of the government.
9. Whats in a US "Guarrantee" ? Nothing
DT ,   TA Israel   (05.12.11)
Obama never honored Bushs letter giving certain guarrantees

12. Terry you are bang on.. Netanyahu could'nt find his
Al   (05.12.11)
balls were they not being GPS'd on his IPHONE. The people of Isreal are dumb as rocks for having elected this empty suit. Leadership in Israel across the entire political spectrum is pathetic.
13. Netanyahu's us speech raises speculations
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav   (05.12.11)
It begs the question, why does he have to go America to speak,? why he cannot speak to the Israeli people first?? can someone answer this for me, please.
14. Time for Bibi to turn up the heat. Great opportunity!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.12.11)
Bibi should get up and declare that he is immediately imposing the same prison conditions on Palestinian prisoners that Hamas imposes on Gilad Shalit. In short: solitary confinement 24/7 and a total blackout on communications. He should say he knows it's against international law to do so, but he's doing it in concert with the international community that accepts Hamas behavior. He should look at the cameras and say he'll immediately lift the conditions in a quid pro quo with Hamas. As soon as Hamas allows the Red Cross to visit Shalit (as demanded by international law), Israel will allow the Red Cross to visit a Hamas prisoner. Ditto for the rest of the conditions. Time for Bibi to show some leadership.
15. A Palestinian state will happen...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (05.12.11)
Israel has no choice in the matter.
16. NO MORE CONCESSIONS EVER!
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.12.11)
Bibi has neither a mandate nor the right to declare any more Israeli concessions. If Israel supported ceding our tiny Homeland to our mortal enemies, we'd have elected Labor and Meretz to power. Instead we decimated the main Knesset champions of the monstrous Two State Final Solution. It is time for all of Patriotic Israel, the vast majority of our land, to demand a complete, permanent end to Israeli concessions.
17. no clear statement on settlements...
eporue ,   europe   (05.12.11)
will give the palestinians their state - GUARANTEED... your government is really deluded...
18. #11 Osama, is it true Obama is really a piranha in disguise?
Damien Thorn   (05.12.11)
19. #13 Elsie. I will answer you
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.12.11)
Because Netanyahu's election campaign on its way to evaporate : ) he Is too cowardly to tell the truth to his people, that "Israel" has reached the moment of truth, Palestine or no "Israel" .
20. Netanyahu to "tone down" Speech
Edward ,   Savannah   (05.12.11)
He plans on toning down his speech before the U.S. Congress by giving just "half" of Jerusalem away, not all of it, and only "half" of Judea/Samaria not all of it, at least, not all of it yet!!! And I guess that means he'll spend "half" of his time grovelling at Obamafraud's feet!!! Yep, that looks like a "tone down" to me!!!
21. Sick and tired
Jon ,   Baltimore, US   (05.12.11)
The American people are more and more disatisifed with a peace process that has gone nowhere in 63 years.Demands by this government of controling airspace, borders, water resources and who can live in a future "free" Palestinian state is so unreasonable that noone even takes them seriously when they talk about it. You cannot give independence to a people and then say you need to control every aspect of their lives. The sooner you realize that you are being unrealistic and come up with something that is actually at least a decent starting point for negotiations the better off you will be. The status quo is unacceptable and the world is sick and tired of hearing that Israel has noone to negotiate with. The most stable government that there was to deal with since all this began 63 years ago is dying right now; strangled to death by the Israeli Finance Minister and the PM.
22. #19 You have a career in comedy. Nobody takes you seriously.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.12.11)
Except yourself, of course.
23. Right on, Terry!
Johanna ,   Jerusalem   (05.12.11)
24. #21 - we are sick & tired of your unacceptable demands
Danny ,   Albany, USA   (05.12.11)
Your statements and demands are being made from the comfortable, quiet confines of your cozy Baltimore abode... you don't have to live with constant threats of annihilation, missiles being fired at your cities, school buses, children, suicide bombers exploding in your comfy cafes..... you have no standing or intelligence about the situation to deny Israel's demands for absolute security.....
25. #2; Salma, Worried About Rude
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (05.12.11)
It's laughable, the new "unity" government has declared...at least Hamas...want to reverse the recognition of Israel, and al-Zahar (leader of Hamas) stated yesterday he didn't want the "next generation" to give up the right to destroy Israel and take back all of Palestine. Yet Salma thinks somehow BiBi could get rude, how ridiculous. Compared to what? Statements of destroying Israel? Please.
26. To Chris @ #15
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (05.12.11)
We are not like the Australian aboriginals you know, we shall determine our own future.Get your own house in order before offering your "pearls" of wisdom.
27. #15 chris b
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.12.11)
Israel is the only one who has a choice. If it wanted to, it would simply attack and wipe out the opposition. As it doesn't want to, it has to figure out how not to arrive at a solution in which the arabs get everything they want and still try to annihilate Israel. And they will find a solution, without bombastic 'statements' from chris b of Australia.
28. #21 jon
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.12.11)
You are another of those who thinks he speaks for everyone. "The American people" are diverse. Most support Israel, as shown by recent surveys. One reason is many Americans understand "controlling airspace, borders, water resources" as America has these powers in our country. 1. Read some history of the area and people. 2. Read about terrorism, the indiscriminate killing of people. 3. Read about any countries that have survived after giving the enemy everything they wanted without receiving promises of 'no more demands'. 4. Read about negotiations where one side says they will negotiate only AFTER they get all they want. It is YOU who are being TOTALLY unrealistic and blind as it is the arabs who avoid negotiations, let alone a starting point.
29. Chris # 15
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (05.12.11)
The world doesn't need a welfare state which is what it would be. Those people couldn't govern their way out of a paper bag.
30. Enough is enough
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.12.11)
We are constantly being told "Don't make a fuss", "Exercise restraint", etc. No more, now is the time to stand and scream at the world especially that racist in the White House that we will not go to the gas chambers without a fight ever again! We demand our rights under international law. No more double standards, no more support for genocide, no more money for terrorism. This is the time to make it plain NEVER AGAIN.
