seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (05.15.11)
This fellow must be part French... he is suffering from a case of terminal pique.
3. Let's add the date:18 January 1871 as another great Jewish
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.15.11)
tragedy. That is when Germany unified and later became Nazi Germany. We could make it another "Naqba-day" in addition to the Shoa memorial day.
4. Go on Israel blame any country for anything & stay isolated
(05.15.11)
Every country is a potential enemy of israel and is doing all wrong, only Israel never do things wrong, they are always the missunderstood heros of this planet
5. very onesided
Martin ,   Germany   (05.15.11)
The Deutsche Bahn is still doing several projects in Israel. And how long do I have to google to find a MK making similar statements? I bet not that long...
6. this is very missleading, the support in the gov after
ghostq   (05.15.11)
the Pukoschima in Japan, declined in Germany from 80% to 10% the gov of Ph. D. Angela Merkel got minimal support nowdays everyone talking about the next term, I think this artikle got no connection to reality.
7. Those sensitive Germans
Rachel ,   US   (05.15.11)
It would have been nice if they showed a little sensitivity in the 40's.
8. Deutsche Bahn transported Jews to the camps during the Shoah
Mark   (05.15.11)
Why is Israel doing business with them?
9. Some German like to hold on to their nazi dreams ...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (05.15.11)
very very sad for the majority of good German people with conscences. This minority tanit Germany as a whole. It's up to the people of Germany to root this evil out ... so why do they not do that?
10. germans-palestinians
Karina ,   Finland   (05.15.11)

why dont they root it out? are you kidding me or what. Why dont they root it out, look yourself in the mirror and keep asking yourselve that question. it will come to you sooner or later. why? lets see, could it be because they still dont like us Jews? nah it cant be that, could it be they still dont like us Jews? nah it cant be that either. could it be they still hate us Jews after 100 years? nah, they love us to death. could it be hitler had something to do with the moral fiber or lack thereof ? could it be they still have not learned much from the lsat century.... keep asking those questions, the answer is in there, in the asking.
12. this is who they are, and this is what they do
(05.15.11)
13. Criticism - in general...
Dialect ,   Tel Aviv   (05.15.11)
The habit of some Israelis to generally bash all critics is really sickening. But actually it's not surprising at all, in a country where "shouting" is more popular than "listening". And to all the US comments here, I can just say that I wonder whether you guys are able to show the correct geographic location of Germany... As most of you will struggle with this, I'd appreciate your silence too. Thanks.
14. Weinthal observes well
german ,   germany   (05.15.11)
it's a sort of double-game. selling submarines and condemning israel, all at the same time... i don't trust the people in berlin any longer, no way-.-
15. to #9 weird but I meet British neu Nazi
ghostq   (05.15.11)
this year, I had the chance to talk to him he was from London and he wasn't arab or Muslim, just white british power kinda guy, the UK actually full of them, and after the British catholic father incident it basically clear what is going on in the not so united kingdom.
16. 46 members of my father's family were exterminated
Frank ,   USA   (05.15.11)
by the forefathers of the current German pro-palestinian arab "humanists" and "activists". Hatred of Jews is a part of the German DNA. Anti-Semitism is intertwined with the European culture and history.
17. Censored TB - Heavily edited and resubmitted
Marcella   (05.15.11)
This column should be cross-reference with the previous one on Ynet entitled "End Holocaust Memorials". On Meotti's colum I wrote a talkback saying that there is not enough remembrance of European persecution and murder of Jews during the many centuries preceding the Holocaust. Now I should add, there are not enough reminders of European governments' relationship with Arab terrorists in the past decades. East Germany gave refuge, money and training to those Arab terrorists. How soon Israel forgives and forgets. ~~~~~~~ Israel has been too silent on pre-Holocaust European massacres of Jews and on post-Holocaust not-so-secret alliances of European governments with Arab terrorists. I was shocked to learn that Israel has been involved with Deutsche Bahn, the same one that got paid to carry Jews packed like cattle to their annhilation in concentration camps. Shocking and disgusting.
18. Oh dear, it's Weinthal again
Theo ,   Berlin, Germany   (05.15.11)
Everytime Weinthal appears in the media, it's the same mantra: Germans are nothing else than a bunch of antisemites. Why that? Because there is a slight wind of criticism on behalf of Israel's politics on "security issues" in Germany. So: If a German politician uses the word "occupied territories" and refuses to speak about "disputed teritories", Weinthal considers him to be a Nazi, a new Hitler, a sworn antisemite and a friend of Palestinian terrorists. Serious journalism? No way at all.
19. we must stay in the face of these brain dead anti-semites,
ralph   (05.15.11)
20. Weinthal forgot to mention
Rika Chaval   (05.15.11)
The national leader and the national bureau of the Left Party condemns Israel-Boycott. The antisemite flyer on a the server of the local Branch at Duisburg caused heavy criticism both from leaders of the Left Party, and nationwide. The Israel-Boycott- initiative in Bremen was followed by no more than the 10 people who initiated it (in a town of 600.000 inhabitants) and was met with a lot of public criticism. Last week in Bremen a resolution was signed conjointly by jewish community, the governing socialdemocrats & Green party, the christian democrats, the liberals and several organisations, except the Bremen branch of the Left Party, speaking up against boycott of products from Israel, equating it with anti-jewish boycotts of the '30s. It isn't helpfull at all to always paint things in black, Mr. Weinthal.
21. #16 - @Frank, USA
Dialect ,   Tel Aviv   (05.15.11)
Your comment, that "hatred of Jews is a part of the German DNA", makes me really wonder: If one exchanges the words "German" and "Jews" in your statement, you'd call it antisemitism. If you keep the current position of these two words, you call that your legitimate opinion.
22. Weinthal should have read DB-reasoning
Donatus ,   Strasbourg, France   (05.15.11)
and he might have learned something about respect of internatioanal law and particularily the IV Geneva Convention. DB just applies to these and Weinthal too well knows it. Why doesn't he inform his israeli public? Wouln'd this be the very task of a correspondent in Berlin?
23. German Brit intel actively fomenting anti Israel, like Philby
Diamond ,   USA   (05.15.11)
Brit and German intel are actively fomenting anti Israel sentiment in both Europe and the territories. There is a concerted world effort, part of American security services with Brits at the head and Germans being one branch of it, to sow hatred against Israel from the outside and divide Israel into hostile factions internally. Unless combatted and defeated immediately, there is no hope for Israel.
24. Thank you OPEC we own you for that.
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.16.11)
25. Suspend diplomatic realations with Germany
shriber ,   cambridge, USA   (05.16.11)
Only such a radical step will get their attention and that of the Europeans. Israel helped re-habilitate Germany after WW2 by agreeing to diplomatic ties. It's worked mainly to Germany's advantage.
26. Re #22
Andrew Brehm   (05.16.11)
What does the fourth Geneva Convention say about building railroads in occupied territory? Let me guess: When Israel does it it's a war crime and human rights violation, right?
27. i am german
ghostq   (05.16.11)

28. Fast trains
Ibrahim El Awal ,   Dearborn, Michigan   (05.16.11)
The Chinese are cheaper.
29. The Germans once supported the Mufti
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (05.16.11)
of Jerusalem and they just have refused to put John Demjanjuk behind bars...ANY MORE QUESTIONES about the Germans...??? The German leftists are a bunch of Jew haters and the so called silent majority feels the same way...the Germans are fans of the Arabs...they buy their oil and sell them their crap in return and they spend their holidays in Arabic countrys...I know some crazys who even wanted to vacation in Egypt during the recent riots...when I suggested to them Israel as an alternative vacation spot, I became confronted with total ignorance...
30. Germans bow for Iranian presure
Kees ,   Amsterdam   (05.16.11)
The Germans have huge technology contracts with the Iranians. So the German Socialist had to choose: money or desency? Like all socialist, they choose money.
