3. I like Abbas
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.15.11)
He's smart and working more with the UN, Americans and I hope he will finally apologise to Israel for all his big mistakes.
4. actually, i can't think of a bigger waste than that
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (05.16.11)
it's a shame to throw one's life away, for nothing except vile hatred.
5. They also died because they are Assad's stooges
Charles ,   Paris, FRANCE   (05.16.11)
Nobody gets near the border in the Syrian side without permission from Damascus. Assad simply wanted to turn attention away from his butchery of his own people.
6. Have we not seen this routine?
cthrusoldier ,   Miami Beach, USA   (05.16.11)
They request aid that is cash and not physical, in anger they make a deal with an besieged dictatorship to provide all human shield coverage possible while making a broadside incursion of sovereighn Israeli territory. It's not for work or family visits, which Israel authorizes. It's for trouble of the kind that breathes nightmares.
7. What has Nakba got to do with Statehood
Jonny ,   South Africa   (05.16.11)
Exactly what has Nakba got to do with Statehood. Modern Israel state was founded in 1948, Arabs refused to take up the offer of a Palestinian State at the same time. Nakba is a term used to deny the existance of the State of Israel and is not connected in any way to a Palestinian State.
8. Did not see him there.
maya ,   australia   (05.16.11)
Like all arab leaders, Bin Laden included, a loooooong way from the action.
9. Put him in the nursing home already.
canada ,   canada   (05.16.11)
10. Always Justifying Bloodshed
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (05.16.11)
The West has truly given up on the Palestinians and Muslims in general. Peace talks could happen when Hamas adheres to the Oslo Accords and agreements that have been negotiated and signed between the Palestinian Arab leadership and Israel and the request of the entire international community to: Accept in principle Israel's right to exist, adhere to signed agreements and cease all forms of terror and violence. The Palestinian government - which now unfortunately includes Hamas - has opted not to follow the demands of the international community, i.e. UN, EU, US and Russia and are content to murder pregnant women, children and innocent civilians. Nobody in their right mind expects Israel to negotiate with animals like these.
11. nonviolent riot...right...
Eric L ,   Chicago, USA   (05.16.11)
much like military intelligence...
12. 6.'incursion of sovereign Israeli territory' LMAO
lydia ,   Brisbane   (05.16.11)
Sovereign territory exist ONLY within Israel Sovereign Borders. Every bit outside said borders belong to the Palestinians not to Israel
13. 7 Palestinians demanding freedom from Israel!
lydia ,   Brisbane   (05.16.11)
Freedom from Israel subjugation and belligerent occupation in violation of 250 UN res. Freedom from Israel illegal siege by Land. Air and Sea Freedom from Israel apartheid policies and land theft Freedom from Israel ethnic cleansing Freedom from Israel trail by missiles Freedom from indefinite incarceration without trial
14. Abbas
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (05.16.11)
Isn't it surprising, that abbas, the so-called peace negotiator, mediator and representative of palis in US sponsored negotiations, the "white dove" of the future pali state has officially demonstrated his true sentiments. He is condoning the bloodshed and the attacks on the Israeli sovereign borders..His slogans are bold and aggressive, true to a head of the terror organization of fattah, leader of which he always was ad still is.. Israeli Government needs wake up from the euphoria about who are they going to negotiate peace with ... Abbas never ceased being an uber terrorist, raised and bread by arafat...This is a crude awakening....
15. I find it odd
Sean Green ,   Pasadena, USA   (05.16.11)
That this is front page news all over the world but the 12 Kurds murdered in Turkish occupied Kurdistan are not anywhere to be heard of. I guess it's okay of Turks do it but not if Jews do it.
16. Calling Abbas "Palestinian President" is a lie.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.16.11)
Ynet, why do you insist on pretending Abbas is a "Palestinian President"? There is no such state as Palestine and never has been on. Nor will Israel allow one to arise on our land unless the majority of us are lunatics. Nor is Abbas even thepresideent of the poseur P.A. His term expired long ago. Thus calling Abbas a "Palestinian President" is a lie on many different levels.
17. The PA Demonstrate the Opposite of Spiritual Principles
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.16.11)
No Abbas - they died in vain. The PA and Arabs' actions show the world their embarrassingly low level of awareness, and of understanding how to succeed. They are doomed to beat their heads against the wall, hurt those around them and themselves while blaming others all the while. By defining themselves in such completely negative ways they are begging for defeat. You would think that after so long they might wake up but then again they are just following their hate-ridden scriptures which dooms them and ensures merely illusory ego-driven gain at the very best, but ultimately unending failure and unhappiness. They could learn from enlightened cultures some very simple ways such as Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself or Do Unto Others... but that would be accepting Judeo-Christian principles.
18. How do you say "fruitcake" in in arabic?
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.16.11)
19. Palestinians Should Mourn the Existence of Inept Leadership
Douglas Fireman ,   Chicago, USA   (05.16.11)
One's choices can lead to severe consequences. Rather than mourn the existence of Israel, the Palestinian leadership should do something to improve the plight of their people. Instead, leadership runs rough shod over the rights of their citizens. A peaceful Intifada would have saved the lives of the unfortunate dead. And now, even before the dead are buried, the propaganda commences. "Israel is to blame," maintains Palestinian leadership and cohorts. Palestinian leadership is solely responsible for placing their people in harms way. Frenzied mobs with a disposition toward violence and incitement may have ruined their chances for a Palestinian State. Their so-called Nakba is a catastrophe for peace loving Palestinians.
20. Abbas, Send your own children
David ,   On this planet   (05.16.11)
to die for Palestine. Where are they?. In Europe, guarding the money you stole from your people. Palestinians compared to the other Arabs did not wise up to their leaders yet
21. dangerous delusion: abbas is a moderate interested in peace
dante ,   uk   (05.16.11)
22. re: abbas and the bloodshed in syria-gaza
joel ,   usa   (05.16.11)
if all kind of leaders is like abbas, then there would be no one left for him to lead;he is like a wolf looking for someone to fight & devour which is a very clear of satanic influence! a person as old as abbas but with such satanic influence deserve to be thrown into a pit, forever!
23. re: #3, salma
joel ,   usa   (05.16.11)
you don't hope for these kinds to make amends of their ways, they'll be depressed and go crazy if real peace exist; the reason why the ottoman turks made them slaves, likewise in area and they fought against each other competing who would the leader that's sp[elled very clear in the history of the area?
24. A general strike in the Gaza strip?
Zyx ,   Boston   (05.16.11)
What for? Anyway nobody will be able to tel the difference.
25. Hmmm
Abe ,   Irvine, USA   (05.16.11)
I wonder how the blood of these "martyrs" will be used. Start using your brains instead of blood. Come to term with the fact that Israel is here to stay. This is a prerequisite to achieve your aspirations.
26. Hmmm
Abe ,   Irvine, USA   (05.16.11)
Darwin's theorem at its best
