1. Give him a prison cell to spend his life in his "homeland"
Cynic ,   USA   (05.16.11)
2. The enemy gets bolder because of Israel's weakness
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.16.11)
Israel's constant appeasement leads to one place and it's not peace. Trying to make peace with those who are not capable of telling the truth is a dead end. How is it that he does not want to go back to his 'beloved' Syria ? He can't tell us the truth as the Palestinians live a lie from cradle to martyrdumb. "I don't want to go back to Syria,"
3. "so we need this country to be large"
Andrew ,   Miami,FL   (05.16.11)
he makes a good point - if were going to stuff two people into the same space - the space needs t be enlarged - why does no one see this???
4. oh what peaceful protestors
SA ,   USA   (05.16.11)
Right they're very peaceful, next time they'll return armed and will return fire, the real solution will be implemented by the military. Imagine what could have happened if some of these people who sneaked by were armed, perhaps with explosives? It's not like Israel hasn't had Palestinians sneaking through before (think ambulances) to perform terror attacks.
5. He could not have been born in Israel
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (05.16.11)
Is this just YNet translation fail?
6. Jordan and Syria are large. He can pick one of those
Harry Wright ,   UK   (05.16.11)
"large" countries. There is no "Palestine" and Israel is not his country.
7. This guy is a nutcase - like all his "peace" supporters:
Nethanel ,   Gush Etzion   (05.16.11)
1) Claims to be born in Jaffa - 28 years ago - right! - or he thinks he is his own grand father 2) "This country has to be non-Jewish, it needs to be for Jews and also for all the Muslims" - no comment on this remark. 3) Assad; "He is a good president." - probably had to flee to Israel due to his now unpopular political views. 4) 'I wasn’t scared of police" - the only true statement - the Israeli police got a bad name way over its borders - time to become tougher. Fazit: Hassan sums up in a nutshell what the Middle East is about: Judenrein (and free of Xians and other non Muslims as well), love for iron fist dictators.
8. One thing is for sure
J K ,   NYC   (05.16.11)

Jonathan   (05.16.11)
I dread to think about all the 'unknown', illegal stuff that these activists do... under the radar. Unbelievable !
11. that easy to get in israel
glenn ,   miami fl   (05.16.11)
is it that easy to infiltrate israel.....no security in the golan heights.....residents s/be be scared of terrorists or nuts that can do them harm with a flimsy fence and no land mines...the undof is worthless
12. BORN IN JAFFA?
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (05.16.11)
Maybe his father was born in Jaffa, but Hijazi could not have been.First lie. Judging by his surname, his family come from the Arabian Peninsular. My suggestion is that, before he's deported by some circuitous route, his papers are marked with the Israel passport control stamp and see if he can get back into Syria. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
13. He is a psychotic hallucinator.
nero ,   nyc   (05.16.11)
He was born in Jaffa like I was born in Peking. If he was really born in Jaffa he could still live there if he wished.
14. extend security fence
glenn ,   miami fl   (05.16.11)
israel needs to extend the secrity fence from the west bank to the golan heights and place several million land mines as a deterrent......obviously 23-40 soldiers cant defend this area from syria......must of been on vacation on mt hermon
15. Liar, he is too young to be born in Jaffa

This is why his name is Hijazi.
18. Has Ehud Barak been fired yet?
Rachel ,   US   (05.16.11)
I'm curious what does this failure have to do to lose his job?
19. He was (perhaps) Born in Jaffa??
Bob ,   Canada   (05.16.11)
Perhaps his mom snuck into ISrael gave birth and lefet ( infiltrated) right out with her kid,,,,,,,Everyhtng is possible.. But in the end he shows zero humility and zero empathy to Israelis.....
20. Speaking like this to Syrian police = Summary Execution
Marco ,   Spain   (05.16.11)
21. Infiltrator & helpers
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (05.16.11)
He entered illegally, all those that conspired to smuggle him in, are co-conspirators, as such the lot belongs in Jail If those people in Majdal Shams are unhappy being in Israel, the gate at the face swings outward to Syria
22. viva palestine
chahrazed ,   barbaria .algeria   (05.16.11)
go go we all with you nation of palestine
23. Soon or later
Pedro ,   Brazil   (05.16.11)
Soon or later, things like this security failure will end very bad for israelis.
24. Syrian infiltrator
julie ,   UK   (05.16.11)
How many other infiltrators have got into Israel How many are being given hospitality by so-called peace activists? has Israel gone mad allowing this to happen
25. How much will Hijazi want to give up his repatriation plan?
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.16.11)
He is correct by saying the country will need to be big to take in those who left in 1948. But the country will not be big, so he will need to stay in Syria along with all the rest. It is interesting to know how much money would he and those like him take as compensation for giving up claims to repatriation. He sounds like someone to whom it is possible to talk intelligently. But I am surprised he thinks Asad is "good."
26. Hold them as hostages until Gilad Shalit et al are released
Barry ,   UK   (05.16.11)
27. Unless you're 64 years old, your original place is Syria
William ,   Israel   (05.17.11)
lest we all claim central Africa as our place of origin.
28. Syria is a good country
Ed ,   USA   (05.17.11)
But Syria is a good country for Palestinians and I don’t know what the Israeli government would do to us. I want to stay here and bring my family here," he noted. . . . [President Assad], "is a good president." Syria is so good that he's desperate to leave. Right. Another case where the Palestinians line up behind depots (like Saddam Hussein) and then incur the people's justified wrath. Assad is using them to take the heat off himself. The only thing that's really clear is that if Hijazi gets his state, he and the other Palestinians will be far more oppressed than they are in Syria.
29. Bomber?
Kyle ,   Melbourne aus   (05.17.11)
Were all very lucky that this guy didn't have a bomb strapped to his chest.
30. Where I am from
Ed ,   USA   (05.17.11)
"my dream is to reach Jaffa, the city where I am from." He has apparently never even visited the city he is "from." By this criterion, I'm from Russia, Germany, and Israel.
