31. Look in the Mirror
Ed ,   USA   (05.18.11)
"The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is not normal, it was artificially created because of the blockade," Look in the mirror, Georgieva, You are responsible for the "crisis" in Gaza. If you would stop blaming Israel and if the EU would stop supporting the PA and Hamas, the Palestinians might just be willing to negotiate. Why should they stop attacking Israel when they are confident of your support?
32. Would rather starve than eat Jewish food
Mychal ,   Tennessee   (05.18.11)
My rabbi went into the Palestinian territory on her last trip to Israel, and when she came back, she said giving more money to them for their upliftment wasn't the answer, because in many (even in most) cases, Palestinians don't want handouts of any kind from Jews. They'd rather cut their nose off to spite their face. In one known case, there was a fire in a Palestinian village near the border, and when both the Palestinian and Jewish firetrucks from nearby towns showed up, they were BOTH stoned and forced to leave. People would rather their house or business burn down than let a Jew (or someone working with a Jew) put the fire out. No matter how many opportunities they're given, they won't take it if it's from a Jew. They don't hate Jews for injustice; they hate Jews because they're Jews. This is, historically, hardly atypical. You'd think, with all the anti-Semitism in the EU, they'd understand this.
33. EU Commisioner
IRV ,   USA   (05.18.11)
Anyone notice the EU humanitarian mention that the OCCUPATION army of Jordan brought people in to occupy land in Israel? Anyone notice she NEVER mentions the humanitarian situation of the Jews in any historical context? Notice that she blames Jews for the people who came to occupy jewish land at the behest of Jordan? Wonder how she feels now that her EU is becoming occupied by moslem hordes and her appeasement of them will put her out of business and out of Europe. Where are you planning to live commissioner besides la la land? Pure rubbish.
34. Blockade
Ari ,   NYC   (05.18.11)
Let them halt their rocket attacks, dismantle their terror tunnels, surrender their weapons and return schalit and then maybe, we can discuss lifting the blockade. Until then, let them eat sand and drink sewer water!!
35. RE: UN's KRISTALINA GEORGIEVA & GAZA
joel ,   usa   (05.18.11)
MS GEORGIEVA SHOULD NOT MAKE HERSELF LOOK STUPID, SHE SEEMDED TO BE INTERESTED IN THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN GAZA BUT, SHE SHOULD STAND IN THE MIDDLE GROUND NOT BEING CORRUPTED BY THE EU & WESTERN STATES WHICH ARE AGAINST ISRAEL; THOSE TERRORISTS HAMAS ARE SMUGGLING WEAPONS & ROCKETS TO KILL ISRAELI CIVILIANS AND MS. GEORGIEVA SHOULD NOT BE AN IDIOT TO INVESTIGATE THESE CASES, OK?
36. Delusional ship of fools
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (05.18.11)
I kinda feel sorry for the ethnic Europeans, who have had their democracy stolen from them by the NWO socialist mob. This phenomenon of Euro-crats ignoring all historical facts and precedence, mouthing off inane "policy" appeasements, which a kindergarten class would laugh at, is a very sad state of affairs for Europeans.
37. Embargo
liam ,   ireland   (05.18.11)
Putting aside that an embargo is an act of war (see 1967 justification) Israel should continue to ban goods from the people of Gaza. Let them have chocolate and baby food an there is going to be no way to stop them from overrunning the 60 nucle ar weapon sites.Get real, the embargo is a public relations disaster--forget the humanitarian consequences.
38.  the most vulnerable people?
Helena ,   Finland   (05.18.11)
EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid Georgieva, a na(t)ive of Bulgaria, forgot to mention the kids in Sderot, who are growing up in fear and their unemployed parents, the new Jewish families in east Jerusalem who are dealing with the threat of eviction by their neighbours and the demolition of the homes of the Jews in Judeah and Samarya.
39. protest
birdi ,   israel   (05.18.11)
every single one of here should write this dimwit a protest email. this very dumb eu official needs to hear the truth. she got her info from a ''lucky packet"
40. dubble standards
JUSTIN AUSTIN   (05.18.11)
why does UNRA takes care only in palestinian "refugies" there are millions of millions of refugeies all around the glob. what about a blokade on SUDAN, what about sanctions on TURKEY? the refugies of DARFUR in israel are under the support of the state of israel and the UN does nothing to help them. but israel does... again where are your values lady????
41. sussi bar in gaza and the "palestinians" are vulnerable?
dj ,   sweden   (05.18.11)
what about the sudanians and the refugies from darfur which come to israel because it's the only place that want to help them??? the egyptian army kill those refogies and whoever maneges to get through escaps to israel. you don't have to be uber- smart to understand that more vulnerable people live today in israel. and just to remind you: in the jewish shoah there was'nt sussi bar
42. EU Official puts all responsibility on Israel? Shocking: END
john   (05.18.11)
43. Yes, let the Gazans and Hamas in and then no crisis!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.18.11)
Because there will be no Israel and the Arabs will feel free to massacre every Jew in Israel! Of course, this will be done with UN and UNHCR approval. The only problem for the UN will be that the "Palestinians" will start killing one another! At one time we could attribute the attitude to Israel by the UN and its Organizations as naivety or stupidity but today it is part of the new "Worldwide Pogrom" bought and paid for by the Arab states. If Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva was really concerned about the lack of opportunities for the Palestinians, she should ask two questions. Firstly, hat would have happened or even would happen if the Palestinians put down their weapons, recognized Israel, stopped killing Israelis and cooperated with Israel to build a viable and successful state? The second question is why aren't the fat pot-bellied oil Sheikhs helping their own people? No doubt they trust the Palestinians less that Israel does! Maybe the UN should go and solve some of the humanitarian disaster in Africa with make the Arab-Israeli conflict look like childsplay!
44. when will we stop funding the distorte entity call UN?
AN AMERIACAN ,   arizona   (05.18.11)
45. EU official: No restrictions – no Gaza crisis
Adam ,   London/Zichron   (05.18.11)
Muppet !!
46. EU official has been paid to say that
Dani ,   Amsterdam NL   (05.18.11)
Israel is not Iran, Haiti or another bloody dictator, blockade is necessary to prevent army smuggling, food oil and medicine are not a problem. Avoid the attempt to brake the blockade a no one get hurt, vice-versa......
47. Calm down a bit
G. Fränkl   (05.18.11)
Everything she says is nothing, but pure unadulterated LIES and falsehood, but why do you overlook Ynet's responsility to ask hard, uncompromising questions? Again. again. And again. Posing as an inanimate microphone-stall instead.
48. plain bullshit
EU secular zionist ,   munich/germany   (05.18.11)
I alway wonder what kind of idiots are heading the special EU administration sections. There is list of bullshiters that obviously gets longer every day. Kristalina, who is isn't crystal clear but rather naive and ignorant, believes with a 3-day trip she can resolves the situation with her good advices. However, they are sooo stupid and cheap and don't hit the core of problems. My impression: as more the EU gets larger, as more the political riff-raff bubbles up.
49. Is She Going To Check...
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.18.11)
that the Arabs are not going to smuggle rockets and missiles on these boats? Foolish lady.
50. #37 - "embargo is an act of war"
William ,   Israel   (05.18.11)
Right. A response to Hamas' declaration of war in 2007. Perhaps you missed that point, and the 10,000 rockets that were fired at Israeli civilians for the past 8 years. A major war crime. Why is it that your ilk conveniently "forget" even recent history in your efforts to pigeon hole the world into your agenda?
51. To: No. 37
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.18.11)
Embargo is not an act of war. Moreover, Israel trucks in thousands of metric tons of humanitarian aid almost daily. There is a very real justification for denying, say, cement and rebar, because these are used to shore up the smuggling tunnels which in turn are used to smuggle missiles and other weapons which are then used against Israeli civilian targets. The embargo is is fully legal, internationally recognized and exists solely for the purpose of defending Israel's citizens from wanton terrorist attack. It is not a public relations ploy. Get real.
