31. One speech to Congress....
Harry ,   Jerusalem   (05.24.11)
will not undo the 63 years of damage this State brought on itself. Blame non other than thyself. It is a little to late to press the "4000 year old bond. Peres never and still doesn't give a shit about our connection to our Land. Bibi won't be allowed to give away an inch of our Holy Land. The arabs can reunite with their kin in Jordan. There will never be genuine peace with the arabs, so why lip service, and make them believe that parts of our Land are going to be given up. Obama spoke about '67 and Hamas wants to go to '48. Then next they will want the Jews totally out of Israel. It will never end. The State of Israel may have declared their Independence in 1948 but has been fighting a war ever since. Arabs teach their children Hatred and Israel teaches their children that there are crazy people, called settlers, living in the WEST BANK, instead of teaching them their 4000 year history. Maybe our Forefather Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (the Founders of Judaism) were crazy settlers living in the West Bank. When Israel will get History straight, I trust, they will know what to do.
32. I too watched it live! BIBI got my applause!!!
Israeli 2   (05.24.11)
33. Bibi to Congress, AIPAC, Obama
ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (05.24.11)
He said nothing and he will do nothing. And we will pay for it.
34. Find us a leader who does not a man who doesn't.
Pinhas Bayit ,   Bet HaKerem   (05.24.11)
He doesn't weant peace, or talks about it. He's just hanging on for another day and another. Nothing happened. And Bibi's the master of that.
35. Waste of space
Baruch Norman ,   Bat Yam   (05.24.11)
Great work Bibi. Always the same -0 - Efess Meupass.
36. Kol Ha Kavod, Bibi! Wellcome home!
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (05.24.11)
37. I do hope all the lobby groups' applause police were
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NJ   (05.24.11)
riveted on who did/not effusively respond to the Beebster's performance before the combined houses of the US congress... break out the checkbooks, seekers of influence, because the congress-critters, after gargling with mouthwash, are going to be looking for some serious payolla.
38. But anyway,KOL HAKAVOD,BiBi!!!
Keren ,   IL-BR   (05.24.11)
39. It boggles my mind..........JORDANS NEXT KING IS PALESTINIAN
JORDAN ,   Is Palestine   (05.24.11)
youd think the leaders of Israel would push that fact and push Jordan is Palestine. Time to get it into peoples conversation...JORDAN IS PALESTINE discuss....
40. Bibi, you made us proud.
Jewish Warrior   (05.24.11)
41. What Capital in ANY COUNTRY is DIVIDED
stuart ,   NY USA   (05.24.11)
It is amazing to me that the world would ask for the jews to divide thier capital. it was and never has been the capital of any other country EVER! we have prayed for 2000 years to return. Look how the world treated Germanys Berlin!!! Mr Gorbachev tear down the wall! name me another divided capital.... anywhere else in the world...Just one!
42. @31 things change
joe ,   st louis usa   (05.24.11)
As bibi pointed out, Israel's peace with Egypt and Jordan has been a cornerstone of stability in the ME, and for decades has saved countless young soldiers from having to risk and lose their lives in combat. I don't know what the future holds: not for Palestinians nor for Egypt, nor even for Jordan. We never really know. But if history has taught us one thing, it is that everything is possible.
43. #4
Jane   (05.24.11)
Considering your treatment of Egyptian Christians, I think you should shut up
44. #22
Jane   (05.24.11)
But it is ours, Sami. Go talk to King Abdullah about your land demands.
45. 16
birdi ,   israel   (05.24.11)
Not even in your dreams will Jerusalem be yours.
46. phew
birdi ,   israel   (05.24.11)
with great relief, I say, thanks BIBI. Am Israel Chai.
47. #4 -show instances of inequality against Arabs in Israel
William ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
I ask this question again and again, and never get a straight answer from Arabs. So, tell us. Where exactly is the inequality? And keep in mind, being 20% of the population does not entitle Arabs to 50% of the power. A lesson in democracy for you.
48. #6 - Jerusalem was never divided before...
William ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
Arabs illegally annexed it, after ethnically cleansing it of Jews, at the end of an illegal war Arabs started. All Israel did was re-unite was never should have been divided. Allowing it to be divided again only rewards the historical Arab war crimes which seem to go un-addressed but absolutely need to be.
49. #17 - I believe Arabs rendered UNR194 null and void
William ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
when they rejected it and ALL its parts (except obligations on Israel). At that point, it's not worth mentioning.
50. #16 - except that Palestine never existed as a State
William ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
but it is a province in Syria, and hopefully, it will become again the homeland of the "Palestinians".
51. #16 - strange, Nasrallah says your weapons....
William ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
are only to "defend Lebanon against Israeli aggression". Jerusalem is a long way from the Lebanese border. And we don't know terrorist organizations to lie...so what gives?
52. Prime Minister Natanyahu's speech
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (05.24.11)
was absolutely masterful. As a Jew and as an Israeli, I was really proud. He put it all on the line, our willingness to make peace, what we will and won't do, our stance vis a vis Hamas and an invitation to Mr. Abbas to engage in real negociations. He also made some very apt personal recollections and remarks. He couldn't have been more well received, right from the get-go, by both the House and the Senate in his entrance, welcoming, speech and closing before Congress. I think this will force Obama to become more open with increased conciliation towards Israeli interests
53. Great speech, Bibi. But we won't cede an inch of Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.24.11)
Bibi is unquestionably a highly intelligent and talented man. He is an excellent speaker. Light years better than Obama, without needing a teleprompter. However, I wish he'd stop saying Israel is willing to "be generous with Palestinians" and give them more of our land. Bibi has no mandate to make such a claim. This tiny land is ours and we won't cede an inch.
54. Imagine obumma's face when he sees the tape of Bibi's speech
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.24.11)
The WH released a photo of his first phone call to Bibi showing the bottom of his feet pointed to Bibi and now Bibi gets 30 minutes of standing ovation from the combined house and senate, something obumma would not get two minutes of if he were lucky. Break out the serious anti-depression pills for obumma now.
55. That's it!
Tor Gnon ,   Njamena, Chad   (05.24.11)
A man's got to be a man. Tell it as it is and let them that don't agree wear long faces as Sarah B. has rightly put it. You shall know the truth and that truth shall make you free, meaning: Palis must start listening to the stark truth and that alone will make tem know that Israel will not be bullied by anyone. Today, the phrase "standing ovation" has gotten its full meaning. Bravo, Bibi.
56. No. 33, you speak out of envy
Marco ,   Spain   (05.24.11)
You are embarrassed that your Meretz and Hadash idols are incapable and not talented to deliver the Middle East reality with such superb clarity. Go attend another Raed Salah hatemongering event. It will make you happy and proud that your enemy is also clear about their intention to vanquish you.
57. Israel has a great leader at a critical time.
USA   (05.24.11)
Well done, well said. Mr. Prime Minister. I like the part, "when we say never again, we mean never again."
58. Congress & Bibi
Shoshana Rubin   (05.24.11)
Outstanding speech by Bibi!!! Thank you Israel for finally electing a strong leader. The Jewish people in and out of Israel thank you, too. The US Congress and the vast majority of Americans support Israel, especially when Israel is utterly truthful and strong! Thank you, Israel.
59. # 16
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (05.24.11)
I must say that I have a little problem with your statement. Maybe it's just my bad English, who knows, but this "Jerusalem will always be the capital of a free independent Palestine (whatever that is..) sounds strange. Will always be, but is not..
60. a qualified thanks and congrats
John ,   Alaska   (05.24.11)
I'd like to thank Bibi for addressing my legislators; from what I've read so far, he gave them information that many have never contemplated, much less heard. I'm glad that he was well-received. As one of the best statesmen in the world currently, he deserved no less. From what I read, the Prime Minister voiced an openness to giving away part of the Promised Land to Israel's enemies. I hope this never happens and I hope that nobody would take from this speech that this will be possible. In purely material terms, giving away part of Israel to the enemies thereof has _never_ led to peace; only to more violence. Aside from this small qualification, it does sound like the speech was a success, and I applaud Mr. Netanyahu for the address he made.
