1. More of the same...

and nothing changes. Bibi might be able to delude the brainwashed airheads in Congress. But can he pull the same trick on the rest of the world. I doubt it.
2. Oh, it signifies far more than that!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.25.11)
It constitutes an acknowledgment that the United States -- a 235 year old unique experiment in human dignity, equality and justice -- is inextricably bonded to the nation where these concepts first found expression over 5,700 years ago. It constitutes a ringing endorsement of the fact that no two countries share a stronger bond. The United States is strongly rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition; a tradition born, of course, in Israel so very long ago. It constitutes -- in no uncertain terms -- an emphatic rejection of a philosophy which is rooted in hatred, jihad and violence. The standing ovations were spontaneous. Is this important? Oh, you bet. Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the joint Houses of Congress. Every American Congressional District was represented, thus allowing Prime Minster Netanyahu an opportunity to address the American people. The warm embrace extended to the Israeli prime minister on Tuesday came from the heartland of the United States; from grassroots America. It truly was a masterful speech. Netanyahu spoke from the heart; he articulated the issues with remarkable clarity, which is not easy to do given the complexity of the issues which Netanyahu had to address. The American response to Obama's speech last week was cool, to say the least. He had promised to address Middle East issues, but instead of focusing on serious threats -- terrorism; Iran's dogged pursuit of nuclear weapons -- he chose to insist that Israel retreat to 1967 borders. Netanyahu, on the other hand, covered all the issues. He stated Israel's position that there will be no pullback to 1967 borders; there will be no division of Jerusalem and there will be no right of return. There will be no negotiation with an entity which actively seeks the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people. In sum -- Netanyahu won lenghty standing ovations from the United States Congress while simultaneously putting an end to any possibility of an ersatz "Palestinian" state (each of the conditions he articulated are absolute deal-breakers for the ersatz "Palestinians"). Game, set and match to Israel. Thank you very much, Mr. Prime Minister.
3. Bibi made you proud Israel!
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (05.25.11)
This entire trip has truely cemented our relationship with Israel, despite Obama and his juvenile behavior. It shows that Israel has the support of the vast majority of Americans and our Congressional representatives showed that today. Today Bibi won me over...but he'd better keep it up!
4. IT WENT GREAT
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (05.25.11)
I think the Arabs were stunned by the speech. Nobody expected BiBi to come out and be so blunt. Then to have both sides of the aisle jump up and clearly support Israel and all their positions. All the PLO leaders could do is try to play it off as if Israel wasn't serious about peace. But it didn't work, nobody supports the Pals. They are a group of hateful people. The American people see this fact. It's a shame the rest of the world cowers from the Arabs. Afraid they will cut off their oil. Or jack up prices.
5. Netanyahu, Obama,Livini, Tom Friedman
LT COL HOWARD ,   WASHINGTON DC   (05.25.11)
All of Israel should be proud of your Prime Minister. He should be saluted for his magnificent job. Before his trip he was undercut by your former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livini ,New York Times columnist Tom Friedman. Also a group called J St. promised the political operatives within the White House that they would provide “cover” for Obama in his dealing “tough love” to Israel. They encouraged and enjoyed the discourteous treatment that the Obama administration gave to Prime Minister Netanyahu. In all my days of White House and State Department experience I've never seen any head of state treated so rudely in public. All Israelis should bristle and join in supporting their democratically elected prime minister. I'm surprised that American Jews are not more supportive of the Prime Minister and Israel. No other ethnic group within the United States would be so accepting of administration hostility.
6. Bibi got 30 min. of standing ovation, more than obumma in 2
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.25.11)
and a half years. We know who the House and the Senate loves more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tahl   (05.25.11)
There is nothing ellusive or tricky in stating point-blank, the blunt fact that Israel will do whatever is necessary to ensure its safety. If that poses a problem for the world, then screw the world.
8. Green (the color of Islam)was not a suitable color for Sarah

Sara's dress is a blue-based green. yellow-based green is the colour of islam. You know zero about colour- combinations..
10. Members of congress are elected... elections
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (05.25.11)
require money. What congress-critter would dare to sit, with arms folded, under the scrutiny and watchful gaze of checkbook-in-hand lobbyists. All that applause and those standing ovulations were temporary... that chamber is now still, very empty and very quiet. "All glory is fleeting" - some general.
11. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.25.11)
The rest of the world doesn't matter.
12. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.25.11)
The vast majority of Congressional representatives do not even have Jewish constituents. They do have American constituents, however, who have made their strong support for Israel known to their elected representatives. That is anything but temporary, and you are nothing but a sore loser. I don't know why you are so enamored of a terrorist rabble and I don't really care -- but I am glad that the overwhelming majority of Americans aren't nearly as vapid, shallow or uninformed as you.
13. #12 - oh, you are speaking for the
seadog1946 ,   ArthurKill, NY   (05.25.11)
constituents of the delerious/applauding/ovulating representatives of the congressional districts bordering the swollen Mississippi river and it's tributaries, the wind swept and tornado ravaged American "heartland". Frankly, you're delusional about what's going on in or what is the minds of most Americans. Happy Memorial/Decoration day.
14. Applause constitue's total control
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (05.25.11)
of the US puppet government. There is no real democracy anywhere.
15. Joe Biden did not clap re: Jerusalem
Randy   (05.25.11)
he is no friend of Israel, if he put his arm around my wife I'd punch him in the schnozz.
16. Clearly there will be no two state solution
Bill ,   Skokie IL USA   (05.25.11)
I light the speech Mr. Netanyahu made there will be no two state solution. So it is going to be one state for all, with equal rights a representation. Equal rights would allow for the Palestinian dispora to return just as the Jewish dispora has the right to return Jerusalem would undivided but the capitol for all people. This is the right way to go, and is in line with everyone's ambitions. May the leaders of both sides work together to form a true democracy, for all it's citizens and be a bright, and shinning light for whole world to be proud of.
17. Let me remind everyone that...
Persian CAT   (05.25.11)
the US congress is the LEAST respected institution among the AMERICAN PEOPLE. The reception that this notorious war criminal got is proof positive the American people are right to have so much contempt for the congress.
