5. so now Israel should be able to
Barney ,   USA   (05.25.11)
close all access to gazastan from Israel without condemnation. Let all goods come from Egypt. water, power, medicine and so on. they are already smuggling lots of weapons so what difference does it make. also it will allow the terrorists to enter Egypt and inflict terror on muslims that don't meet other muslims standards. Of course also will be less safe for infidels to visit Sinai resorts and historic sites for tourism.

Egypt should annex gaza and all the territory of its original size. Send soldiers to guard it as well
15. #4. You are RIGHT!
A ,   Belgium   (05.25.11)
Gaza gas (intestinal is probably all you have) is for gaza, purified water is for gaza, electricity is for gaza, modern medical treatment is for gaza, proper education (including world maps showing Israel) is for gaza...problem is, the only place you get it from is Israel. And its about time that stopped!
16. Get out of Gaza Card! Yeah
shrinkDave ,   Miami   (05.25.11)
Congratulations on your "get out of jail free" card. No need to wiggle through a tunnel, just walk across the border, and your out. Go while the going's good.

Gaza will sue Israel for stealing its underground water. Egypt will receive the bill of medical as well as surgical treatment.
19. how do you like the 'arab spring' now?
Bless Israel ,   USA   (05.25.11)
Egypt's the first one to cave to terrorists thugs. Watch the others follow suit. Mubarak, while a dictator, held the fragile peace. Someday, Egypt may look backwards and regret what they have instead of what they had. Their economy is in ruins, there is no move to a true democracy and, unfortunately for the Egyptian's, the muslim brotherhood may soon rule them with an iron fist. So much for a woulda coulda shoulda revolt. They will soon be on their slave knees again to worst tormentors than Mubarak.
20. Devorah did you see Obama's huge faux pas toasting the Queen
Bless Israel ,   USA   (05.25.11)
of England? Absolutely the most embarrassing moment yet re: ceremonial protocol. Oy, is this some clown or what?
21. Gaza is Egyptian
Ron ,   OC, US   (05.25.11)
Let the Arabs take care of Gaza, lock, stock and barrel. I expect the Egyptian spring will turn to winter especially if they take the Iranian embrace.
22. Pals to lose Gaza: Egypt to lose Sinai
EZ ,   US   (05.25.11)
You can just see it. Hamas will get bold and make a mistake of heavily attacking Israel: Hamas will be obliterated, a ton of pals will flood Sinai/Egypt and Israel will TAKE Gaza. No more bombs from there. Next, the Egyptians will balk at their peace treaty due to the influx of pals and ask for their "right of return" which will not be granted. They'll post too many military personnel and equipment there leading to a clash and skirmishes wil Israel, who'll wind up taking back much of the Sinai if not all. If the dumb military of Egypt wants to buckle to the terrorists and the mb in Egypt, they've constructed their own gallows: good riddence. They simply cannot withstand a war with Israel who would go all out against them: and for what? Gaza? The pals? Hamas? What fools. The Arab spring is quickly leading to the downfall of Islam and the Arab influenced ME and it's about time.
23. A perfect time for IDF to carve new border zone NE of Rafah
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (05.25.11)
Thed whole problem of Gaza weapons smuggling and Egyptian refusal to honor the demilitarized status of Sinai can be solved by IDF slicing off Rafah from the rest of Gaza and creating a new, fortified No-Go-Zone border corridor through the dunes between Rafah and Khan Younis. 2 miles wide would be too wide to tunnel under, and would isolate Gaza from Egypt, more than 3 miles away on the other side of Rafah. As for Egypt's violation of the Gaza border agreement it signed with Israel, the US and EU, its violation, plus its evading of Iran sanctions, will evoke strong veto-proof majorities in Congress against any of Obama's enhanced econimic aid to Egypt - it will be blocked until Egypt's military rulers restores the demilitarized status of the Sinai, with new inspection by foreign monitors; Egypt's US aid should be shut off and diverted to Israel to compensate them for Egypt's violations to date. It is obvious that Egypt's military regime is not a "peace government", and Congress will move quickly to stop the inept and daydreaming Obama from pretending that it is.
24. Finally an accomplishment.....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (05.25.11)

Yaniv ,   Israel   (05.26.11)
26. End of any agreements
Steve ,   USA   (05.26.11)
will be the next brilliant step by the Egyptians. I wonder how much tourism they will get from Gaza? Trade? Back to the stone age for these barbarians.
27. Give up the Lucrative Tunnel Business?
Jonny ,   Cape Town   (05.26.11)
Can you see Hamas giving up the lucrative tunnel business?
28. 1-I couldn't agree more...let them go.
Ypip ,   Canada   (05.26.11)
29. Smell the coffee Bibi
Matt   (05.26.11)
I look at this way, if the US has the power to get the Egyptian military to remove their own President and then put him on trial and possibly face a rope. They have the power to keep the Muslim Brotherhood out of politics, keep Gaza closed and stop ties between Iran and Egypt and prevent Hamas/Fatah reconciliation.
30. Free at last.
Nathan Rai ,   Bangalore   (05.26.11)
There are pluses and minuses to this. minuses : 1.Hamas can get whatever arms it needs to commit suicide. 2. Chances of a war between Israel / Hamas and its Kill the Jews Brotherhood - a brother hood consisting of possibly state - Egyption forces - and non state actors - those looking forward to a romp with the virgins. pluses: 1. Gaza is free. It will no longer be the worlds largest open air prison. 2. Gaza can get whatever it needs. No more Israeli seige on / starvation of / collective punishment of Gaza. 3. Israel can choose to stop all services to Gaza and heave a sigh of relief. 4. Gaza is free of Israel and Israel is free of Gaza. The future depends on whether the Jihadis want the romp with the virgins more or want to make Gaza a tech / financial hub of the Middle East more... By past records, most probably they will prefer the alleged virgins. Just a thought....which one of our martyr jihads will find out that one of the promised "virgins" turns out to be Fatima Najar.... Unless of course taqiyyeh is called lying / deceit and is banned there....
