1. There will not be a pal state
Bless Israel ,   USA   (05.27.11)
to do so would reward terror for ancestral Jewish lands. Aint gonna happen.
2. Oh, please
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.27.11)
It's all over for the ersatz "Palestinians" except for the shouting and the distributing of sweets in Medinat Israel. They're finished. Over and done with. If any of them had half a brain, they'd be packing up and moving to Jordan now, before all the best real property is taken. Of course, they can go to Gaza if they prefer .... but one or another way, they ARE going.
3. #1 There will not be an Israeli state then!
Wissam ,   Palestine   (05.28.11)
I don't think you quite understand pal, if we go down, you also go down. We are not going to surrender or be imposed a humiliating "peace" deal. We don't give up, remember that. We are the Palestinians.
4. Deiss refers to UNR181 regarding partition in 1947
William ,   Israel   (05.27.11)
Will Deiss also take into consideration that said resolution was rejected by Arabs who subsequently waged war on the other nation partitioned from that resolution? The violence and racist actions by Arabs for 64 years should ALSO be taken into consideration by the UN body, especially since such rhetoric from "Palestinian" factions is exactly the same as those Arabs in 1948 when they attacked a UN sovereign member.
5. #3 you are in a river in egypt...
Mike ,   TA   (05.28.11)
"Denial"
6. #3 "We are the oompa loompas, give us our state!"
Chatich   (05.28.11)
You pals remind me of the black night from monty python's holy grail movie. He never gave up either. "Running away, are you? Come back here and take what's coming to you! I'll bite your legs off!" roflmao!!
7. Wussam "We never give up"
Barry ,   Tokyo   (05.28.11)
"We are palestinians" More like "We never win, We are angry Arabs in denial" Go back to Jordan, you have many relatives there. :))
8. #2
Jazz   (05.28.11)
the "Uniting for Peace" resolution the (UNGA) resolution 377 (V) also known as the Acheson Plan was adopted 3 November 1950
9. to Wissam 3
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (05.28.11)
You are already drowning in your own created disaster-you don't deserve another state.Go to Jordan where you belong.
10. #3. Israel is real. Palestine is fictonal.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.28.11)
#3. The bottom line is very simple. There can be no Palestine in Israel unless Israel is lunatic enough to allow it. All the U.N. Resolutions and flag raising in the world won't change this fundamental fact. And the vast majority of Israelis are too intelligent and have have far too strong survival instincts to allow it. Israel is real. Palestine is fictional, like Oz and Neverland.
11. No. 3, you tried this trick already, how is it working?
Marco ,   Spain   (05.28.11)
Israel exists and there is nothing you can do about it. If you ever try again to destroy Israel there will not be any Arabs left afterwards in the Arab world to try for a 3rd time. Arabs are the worst war criminals in the history of mankind. You deserve any suffering you experience now and in the future and much worse. Be warned!
12. @Wissam "We are the Palestinians" and "We don't give up"
Jewish Warrior   (05.28.11)
We are the Palestinians, who gave up our homes to aid another Holocaust, and now demand return. We are the Palestinians, who gave up on a good life to be crammed into refugee camps by our Arab brothers and starved for 60 years, just so that we may one day fulfill an impossible dream of "return". We are the Palestinians, who gave up being civilized, and love blowing up, shooting, and stabbing men, women, and children. We are the Palestinians, who gave up educating peace and teach our children to hate and how to properly kill. And a solution will not be "imposed" upon you? How about the solution you are trying to impose upon Israel now? And what will you do if Israel unilaterally disengages from the West Bank and decides what land to annex and which settlements to incorporate? You'll have no say. What then?
13. on #4, william
joel ,   usa   (05.28.11)
arab muslims way is to strike you behind your back and that is usual for them anywhere else in the world; well, israel has the "ace", just one nuke bomb and they will tremble and lick your feet they( philistines/palestinians ) did that to King David!
14. General Assembly Resolution 377 overrides any American Veto
Alex Weiss   (05.28.11)
For sure there's more than a chance that the Americans will veto any resolution on establishing an independent Palestinian state, that's to be expected given their servile and sycophantic attitude toward Israel. But maybe the General Assembly should consider invoking UNGAR377 - specifically designed to override the veto of any member of the Security Council that persistently uses it's veto for its own interests, and ironically first conceived by the Americans.
15. 1947 resolution?
Bill ,   Skokie IL USA   (05.28.11)
If the United Nations in 1947 passed a resolution that created both Israel, and Palestine then then all they really need to do is show up, and say we are the Government of that nation, where do we sit.
16. A PA state is coming but it borders are the question
B-scot ,   Dallas, Texas   (05.28.11)
Full membership maybe vetoed but a partial membership with recognition could be possible without UNSC atleast for a limited time. That could be enough to change the playing even more against Israel.
17. Wjhere is Sarah Bee the " The International Lawyer"
Show   (05.28.11)
18. who could not see this coming?
Maya ,   australia   (05.28.11)
The whole reason September was chosen is that the presidency of the SC for that month is guess who? That's right, Lebanon.
19. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.28.11)
No, the ship has already sailed on that one. The Jews accepted partition; the Arabs did not. End of story.
20. If as much effort put at negotiating..
Afried ,   Usa   (05.28.11)
If the PA put as much effort in negotiating there would be a Palastinian state already. The truth is they do not want a 2 state solution but a two stage solution. One get near 67 lines than flood Israel with refugees and get the rest. Unfortunately for them they are not dealing with idiots.
21. #19 wrong on all counts
Wissam ,   Palestine   (05.28.11)
The argument that the Arabs rejected the plan is really flimsy. First of all, they rejected it for very valid reasons - it was unjust and did not reflect the demographic realities of the time, and accorded the Jewish minority the marjority of the land not to mention most of the coast-line including the Arab cities of Yafa, Haifa, and Akka. Second, even if the Arabs rejected the plan then, it does not invalidate Palestinian demands TODAY, because the partition plan recognized TWO PEOPLES within the British Mandate both of which had full POLITICAL right to self-determination. What you are saying is that the Palestinian people somehow disappeared? Now that is not very smart statement from you, Mrs. international lawyer (yearh - right). When are you going to retire from your daily diatribe rants against "ersatz Palestinians" and surrender to the reality that your neighbors will NOT disappear? Or do you wish to become an RSA, paving way for a one-state solution perhaps? Take your pick darling.
22. The big question is the exact location of PA tribe
B-scot ,   Dallas, Texas   (05.28.11)
Another fake tribe of Arabs appropriating the name of the long perished Greek Philistines have no place other than the Arab peninsula. Over there they do not have to worry about borders, the entire arid desert is theirs. They can also remove the pretenses that they are the ancient Greek Philistines and revert back to their full natural Arab identity. This will remove a lot of stress from their brainwashed brains and there is a tiny chance that they will be slightly less suicidal. If not there are plenty of sandy dunes to blow up. I know all this because I am the Best Ever World Affairs Expert in Training. My Tex-Mex Burrito Crystal Ball still informs me Obama reelected and it is always right even if Obama will not be reelected. It is all true, I only report the way I see it with 100/100 vision through Al Jazeera colored glasses 8000 miles away from Middle East and 11000 miles away from Korean Peninsula, Japanese nuclear Islands. Viva Mejico y Tejas Unidos! BLOODYTHIRSTY SCOT GREATEST EXPERT OF TEX-MEX BURRITOS, ENCHILADAS, FAJITAS, MIDDLE EAST, FAR EAST AND NOW HUMAN RIGHTS REVOLUTION IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES!!!!!! DALLAS, TEXAS
23. Obama is in a thight spot, as the American
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (05.28.11)
voters really would NOT like to see him not to veto...
24. The UN
Ronny Judah ,   Mejbourne Australia   (05.28.11)
Did he say The UN protects the SOVEREIGNTY of its members; he should add the words (EXCEPT ISRAEL) What a lier he is.Makes me sick.
25. Re #21
The Prophet ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.28.11)
Dear Mr.Wissam from Palestine, Yes, I agree with you that "...because the partition plan recognized TWO PEOPLES within the British Mandate both of which had full POLITICAL right to self-determination." I would like to remind you that the British Mandate on what was called Palestine then included what is today Israel, the West Bank AND what is today Jordan. Jordan then was called Trans Jordan, and actually ws created by the British to become the site of the Arab people, a place where the Arab people would fulfill their right for self determination. Any other interpretation of this fact is mere... (no offence, please)
26. #21 You're here due to Israel's misplaced mercy. No more.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.28.11)
27. IT JUST BECOMES PALLYWOOD
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (05.28.11)
The article states: As Deiss correctly points out: "The General Assembly cannot take the initiative," But why: "He said the requirements for UN membership are clearly stated in the UN Charter:" Because: "the 15-member Security Council must then make a recommendation the requires nine "yes" votes and no veto by a permanent member," We now know that will never happen, the USA being a permanent member will "veto" the Resolution, and they may not be the only ones to do so. But that alone eliminates the whole idea. So we have an exercise in futility. just a PR gambit to vilify Israel. Where they can say, look all these countries voted for it. But of course the 57 Muslim countries would, so big deal, and who really cares about the small thug dictators who have been blackmailed or bribed into their vote. Like I've said before, the problem with the UN, is gives a false legitimacy to countries and dictators who simply do not deserve it. Just because a guy has the biggest gang in a country and is the most brutal, he becomes the leader, then the UN legitimizes that leader. So we have people and countries like Libya, who actually sat on the Human Rights Council in the UN. Heck, what be any crazier. What more proof could you have of the silliness of the UN. We see clearly the power the Arab and Muslim countries have had in the UN. Israel being alone with the exception of the USA, the only country with enough power to block the hateful and false resolutions they always try to pass.
28. 21 wissam . WRONG
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.28.11)
Akko was in the arab part . Haifa and Yafo were MIXED cities , not arab ones . The majority of the land ? In surface , maybe , but this because of the Neguev [ you had Beer-sheba ] You rejected it then , attacked and told your people to leave : you will come back in the footsteps of the victorious arab armies who will have thrown thge Jews in the sea . And now you would li8ke to have those 47 borders ? Much too late . Those "palestinians" who remained here enjoy the full rights as every Israeli . I will not say that you have'nt any right to some territory . There is Jordan and some parts of Judea Samaria where many arabs live .
29. #16. The final "Palestine" statehood fiasco is coming.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.28.11)
#16 b-scot. You are letting your delusions interfere with reality. The final "Palestine" statehood fiasco is coming. The P.A. claimed fictional statehood in 1988, when there were less than 300,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria. It blew sky high. Absolute fiasco. Today, there are more than 600,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria, including Jerusalem. It is a very powerful community with tons of support both nationally and internationally and - many of Israel's best soldiers. After the upcoming final "Palestine" statehood fiasco, "Palestine" will be universally seen as the joke it is.
30. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.28.11)
Since the condition was "peace" and the Arabs inaugurated war against Israel in 1956, 1967, 1969-70, 1973 and 1982, your point is moot. Nothing repudiates a United Nations General Assembly resolution setting terms and conditions for peace like going to war, eh? That's what the Arabs did. They lost. Ho-hum.
